"Woo" Weedle whispered, its eyes fixed on the two fruits on the tree in the middle.

Natsu stroked Weedle's back soothingly.

"There is no difference between rushing in now and dying. We'd better wait until these wild Pokémon fight first."

Wild Pokémon could be strong or weak, but after all, this place was not too far from Saffron City, and there are often Trainers who enter and leave this forest, thus the wild Pokémon inside are not particularly strong. At least Weedle didn't find a Pokémon which made it too apprehensive.

"Wait, the time should arrive soon."

"Weedle!"

Weedle looked back and responded.

It was true that the fruit was very tempting to it, but that will not make it lose its reason. In its heart, Natsu's safety always came first., If there was really no chance to fight for the fruits, it would resist the temptation and persuade Natsu to retreat.

Time slowly passed. The fluorescence on the fruit was getting brighter and brighter, like two small moons hanging on the tree.

The surrounding Pokémon also became more restless the longer it went on, and all kinds of whispers came and went. The Pokémon were already showing signs of being unable to hold back.

Natsu pursed his lips and squatted in the bush for a long time. His feet were a little numb, and he had to stretch his body a little to keep the blood flowing so that he would be able to run when it was time to move.

"Judging from the reaction of these Pokémon, it should be almost ripe. It is not very beneficial for us to fight before these Pokémon duke it out. We must find a way to make them go to war in advance so that we'll have the chance to snatch the fruit amidst the chaos."

Thinking of this, Natsu hunched over carefully through the bushes, making some noises, but apparently, the Pokémon's attention wasn't around him now. He slowly went behind the Weedle and Beedrill. He glanced at Pinsir, who was occupying an area by itself not far away. It should be the most powerful one in the current group of Pokémon.

"Weedle, go up to the tree and use the Poison Sting on that Pinsir."

Natsu's low voice rang in Weedle's ear.

"Weedle?"

Weedle glanced at him in surprise, but without any hesitation, it climbed to the top of the tree and hid in the dense canopy, with its small eyes staring at the Pinsir in the distance.

*Whoosh-whoosh~ *

With three small clicks, the Poison Sting quickly pierced through the crown of the tree and shot at the burly Pinsir.

The fine Poison Sting was aimed directly at Pinsir's hard carapace, but surprisingly failed to pierce the carapace but was stuck on it. But that was okay as it had accomplished the role it was meant to play.

"Pinsir!!"

Pinsir, who was suddenly attacked, roared, its eyes were full of fierceness, and a pair of huge and sharp pincers on its head colliding with each other, stared directly at the group of Weedle and Beedrill in the area next to it.

Pinsir was originally a Pokémon with a violent personality, but it was calm in this situation because it was focused on the fruits. But the sudden attack directly ignited its fiery character. It aimed its pincers at the nearest Beedrill and rushed up while using Focus Energy. Layers of glowing turbulent air surrounded its body.

The Beedrill party apparently had no idea what was going on. Seeing Pinsir rushing towards them, the Beedrills, who were also irritable Pokémon couldn't help but confront it.

The Pinsir was strong, but they had a total of four Beedrills there.

"Beedrill !"

With the screech of the leading Beedrill, the Beedrills immediately scuffled with Pinsir.

It was like putting a drop of water in a hot oil pan, it splattered in an instant. The Bug Type Pokémon, even those Pokémon who were originally mild-mannered, who were already on the verge of moving around became restless one by one at this moment.

The Butterfrees who were the most conspicuous along with Beedrill simply joined the melee with Beedrill and Pinsir. Several Paras discreetly placed their target on the fruits, but when they approached, they immediately faced the Venonat's strong resistance.

And Weedle, who caused all this to happen, climbed down from the tree immediately after releasing Poison Sting, and crawled in the bushes with Natsu, covering its figure with leaves.

The melee had broken out. All Pokémon joined the battle at the same time, and all kinds of Bug Type moves were flying around.

"It has become such a mess, so now we have a chance." Natsu thought to himself, and his attention was also on the fruits. The next thing to do is wait for the two insect fruits to fully mature and then look for a chance to see if he could get close enough through the Pokémon melee.

"The book says that the sign of the full maturity of the Insect fruit is when its surface is as bright as the moon, and now it's covered by more than half with only a little bit left at the end."

He is the most vulnerable creature here, and the timing of his actions is very important. Many Pokémon were constantly incapacitated as the melee went on.

There were now only two Beedrills on the Beedrill side, and one Butterfree on the Butterfree side. The solo Pinsir has wounds all over its body, but it seems that these wounds only aroused its ferocity. It was still the greatest threat in the three-way melee.

As for Weedle and Catterpie, he didn't know how many may have fallen. The battle between Venonat and Paras on the other side had also heated up, and each had lost one of their members.

Natsu and Weedle still held back. However, through observation of the fruit, Natsu had roughly understood its ripening speed and calculated the approximate ripening time. His fingers slid gently on the ground, collecting some grass, while he counted the seconds in his heart. Natsu picked up the pre-prepared ball of grass from the side and covered Weedle's back with it.

"It's almost there." Natsu raised his head and said to Weedle beside him: "You go straight ahead on the ground. You don't need to be too fast; just keep a steady pace and don't pay attention to fights as well. When you get close to the Berry Tree, just use String Shot to pluck the fruit, then don't worry about anything else and rush back in the direction we came from."

Weedle nodded in understanding. Natsu counted down silently in his heart. Suddenly, his eyes flashed, and said, "Go!"

Weedle immediately left the bushes and approached the Berry Tree slowly and steadily. With an extra stick in his hand, Natsu stared straight at Berry on the tree.

It could be seen that the surface of the fruit had been completely covered by light, leaving only a region at the end of the shining star.

As Weedle got closer, more and more of the surface began to be covered, and the fragrance it emitted became increasingly intense, affecting the surrounding Bug Type Pokémon.

As their fight against each other slackened, their attention turned back to the Berry. It was nearing maturity. Natsu held a stick in his hand and counted in his heart.

"It's done!" He suddenly stood up. But no one paid attention to him as their gaze was attracted to the flashing fruits. The interweaving of light and shadows, as it echoed between the light and dark.

At this moment, the light on the surface of the fruit was completely restrained, and the fragrance it was emitting also stopped abruptly. That brief change made these Bug Type Pokémons freeze for a while.

Just as they were about to rush towards the Berry regardless, they suddenly heard.

"Boom!!"

Under the tree next to him, Natsu clutched the stick tightly and slammed it on the tree trunk, making a dull sound. But this sound was particularly abrupt in such a quiet situation.

They subconsciously looked in the direction of the movement, and saw a figure, running and jumping vigorously, passing through the layers of bushes.

And when they came back to their senses and looked at Berry again, they only saw two bright white silk threads, wrapped around the mature Berry, and pulled them off with a gentle tug.

The source of the silk thread was a Weedle hiding under the grass. After getting the fruits, Weedle didn't hesitate and ran in the direction from where they came from according to Natsu's instructions, using all of its strength.

The two Berries quickly disappeared under the entanglement of the silk thread. For a while, some of these wild Bug Type Pokémon couldn't react to the successive changes. When they reacted, they saw the figure reuniting with Weedle, dragging two Berries, and quickly disappearing into the depths of the woods.

Instantaneously, all the Bug Type Pokémon fighting for the Berries went crazy!

Can you guys recommend a name for the Insect fruit in terms of berry? For example, ______ Berry. I couldn't think of anything. Or should I leave it as it is? In this novel, fruit and berry are the same thing and are synonymous. While you are at it, you might also want to name the dragon fire fruit which Natsu would encounter in the future. Same options: Dragon Fire Fruit or _______ Berry? Or should I just use a random name from the list of already established berries in Pokemon? When I receive enough suggestions, I'll just decide the best one or open a poll for the final result. Thanks.
