Chapter 70

The trial has only 3 months left, and I still have not encountered Mark. It was time for me to go out, and hunt for him. As for the 5 slaves I have, I can only kill them here now. I can't possibly bring them along with me. They'll just be a burden and a hinder for me.
It's better for me to kill them instead of making them suffer further. I'll let Golbat kill them while sleeping to give them a painless death. I'll then let the zubats and Golbat eat their corpses as my parting gift for the little guys. They have been a great help since the start.
I'm not better compared to the other clan members of the clan. I would not have enslave these children but I didn't have a choice if I want to grow stronger. I would not have also choose to kill them if I have to but considering the reward that I'll get if I get the first rank is precious, and besides these children will still be killed off by the clan members afterwards even if I didn't. Lastly, these children are not like the children from my previous world. They are more mature compared to the children from my previous world. When I encountered each of them, they have an intent to kill and I can't just let them kill me when they want to.
I feel guilty from enslaving them, and now I'm actually planning to kill them. It's not the best feeling but I have to do this if I want to live in this world longer.

Once I confirmed that everyone is asleep, I ordered Golbat to execute the plan. It was easily handled by Golbat with just a single Air Slash.
"That's my parting gift for you, zubats. Go and eat them. You too, Golbat. This is a rare chance for you to drink blood from humans. Tomorrow, I'll be leaving together with Golbat and Beedrill." I told to the zubats and they screeched then started to suck on the 3 corpses. Golbat was a tyrant and took 2 corpses for himself.
I slept with Beedrill while the sounds of sucking and screeching can be heard. The sounds bothered me but I forced myself to sleep while using Beedrill as my pillow.

Morning came, and signs of corpses can be seen. The children's corpses was dried up and their skin can be seen sticking at their bones. Golbat was peacefully sleeping at the place where the corpses are. The zubats was around him, and they all looked satisfied. Looking at the scene made me even more guilty but I shrugged it off, and think of other things.
I let Golbat sleep more while I and Beedrill started to eat some berries. After having my breakfast, I woke Golbat up. It was time for us to commence my next plan.
The plan was to hunt any pokemon we encounter while trying to find Mark. We will only stop hunting pokemon and trying to find Mark when it's getting dark. I have to get the first place of this trial because I want to get the reward.
"Are you both ready to go?" I asked my pokemon. Golbat screeched as an answer while Beedrill made drilling sounds. The zubats was surrounding us while having their ears down.
"Don't be sad, zubats. If I have time I might come back here. Thank you again for taking care of me." I told the zubats but was not even sure if I will really come back from here. The zubats energetically screeched once they heard that I might come back.
"This is goodbye then." I told them then left the place together with Golbat and Beedrill. I brought enough water and food for my journey. The supplied I have will be enough for a week. I'll just find other edible food and water as I go.
"Golbat always be alert in the surroundings. Beedrill as always you'll be the vanguard while Golbat will be my shield." I told my pokemon as we go inside the forest.
I can see a mountain in the middle of the island and that is where I plan to go. I might find Mark in there and the view up there might help me navigate the island better.

Two weeks passed, and I arrived at the topmost part of the mountain. I still have not found Mark yet. I also did not encounter any other competitors. I just hunted the pokemon along the way. I can say that we left many corpses along our trails.
The pokemon in here are weak, and they don't even stand a chance against my pokemon. This trial is really boring and a waste of time for me. The only benefit I got from this is getting to train quietly along my pokemon. If I can kill Mark then this clan trial will be great.
"Let's rest here for a while." I told my pokemon and they sat down along with me. I was looking at the view below the mountain and I can see the pond that was close to the cave I was staying at. I looked around further and I saw a group of Oddish along with a Gloom at a swamp part of the island.
I think it's better to go there next. I want to hunt that Gloom since it was stronger compared to the other pokemon I have faced. I might even find Mark in there. While I was pondering this, Golbat suddenly screeched then made 10 biting actions.
"Use both of your stat boosting moves. Those 10 people or pokemon moving towards us might attack us." I told to the two immediately.
They both followed my orders and after a few minutes, five children appeared in front of me while having five different poison type pokemon. The pokemon are a Gloom, a Weepinbell, a Grimer, a Arbok, and a Nidorina. They all have beginner level (3rd tier). These guys also improved like me before they are only at the 2nd tier and I have not seen an evolved pokemon from them before.
"What do you need?" I asked them curiously.
"Are you Rem?" One of them asked.
"Yup." I answered.
"Great! It took a while to find you but this will be your end!" One of them said.
"Gloom, use Sleep Powder!"
"Weepinbell, spray them with Acid!"
"Grimer, use Sludge Bomb!"
"Arbok, paralyze them with Glare!"
"Nidorina, use Earth Power!"
The five kids immediately ordered there pokemon to attack. I was not worried by their attacks with Beedrill and Golbat with me.
Beedrill immediately went towards me then used Protect to cover us in a spherical shaped screen. Golbat flew up to the sky then made an errie light towards the five pokemon. He combined his Confuse Ray together with hot wave of flames. It was Heat Wave making the five opponents get confused and burned at the same time.
The five pokemon's attack was useless since Beedrill completely negated the attacks with Protect while she was using a Focus Energy. After protecting me, Beedrill flew up then used Drill Run to the five pokemon. Beedrill made sure to hit all of the five pokemon in a straight line and penetrating them all in a single hit.
