Chapter 19: Lord of the Isle (2)

[Shiroe POV]

Well, this is awkward...

I didn't expect to meet two wardens and even one of the ten Noble Pokemon, the Basculegion during my training montage.

And what's worse was that I was prepared to knock them out with the Magikarp in my hand.

Which I understand was my fault since I assumed they were wild Pokemon when looking below the seawater.

I mean, it is quite hard to see clearly when deep below the sea, especially when there's no diving equipment of some sort.

Oh and also...

If you're wondering why I was holding a Magikarp in my hand like a baseball bat is because I was.

Cause Magikarp does not have a good-ass move to use when battling, so I had to resort to some unconventional means instead.

Which surprisingly works well plus it's kinda fun beating up wild Pokemon with a Magikarp.

However, there is a bit of a drawback when it comes to this means since Magikarp receives recoil damage every time I smack him into a Pokemon.

Luckily, I have potions to spare.

"Umu"

Now then, back to the situation...

I sat on a log, awkwardly staring at the two wardens and the tiny Hisuian Growlithe in front of me while contemplating whether to speak first or not.

As for Lord Bacsulegion...

He went somewhere else after dropping them off on the beach which I won't pry since I don't really care about where he goes to.

I mean, hey...

It's his life am I right?

And it was then, that a powerful tremor suddenly shook the ground that it even made the sea tremble as tides formed and submerged the entire beach.

"...!!"

That one was by far the scariest earthquake I've experienced...

Heck, It even caused some small... well, tiny terrifying tides that almost swept the entire beach clean.

Good thing we were sitting far away or else...

We would be sleeping with the fishes or in this case, aquatic Pokemon.

Realizing this, a cold chill crept up my back as I could feel a few sweat sliding down my forehead.

"Sheesh..."

I let out a mouthful of breath and wiped the sweat, feeling a bit fearful of the possibility of dying.

And just thinking about what could happen to me... or us gives me the heebie-jeebies.

I mean, how many times is it already that I almost died or could have been killed after being transported into this world?

About two... wait, maybe three times already.

It may not look like a lot but if it was in my past world then this would have been impossible or just straight-up absurd.

"Hah"

The more I spend my time living in this world, the more my perspective or viewpoint refreshes every time.

And it's... exciting.

"Ehem"

The tall young woman or should I say, Warden Palina cleared her throat and gave me a side eye which woke me up from my dazed state.

That's a bit embarrassing...

I guess, my inner thoughts must have shown on my face.

Well, anyway...

I turn my head beside me, staring at the two wardens with my right eyebrow raised, giving them the stink eye.

"So... I'm just guessing here but..."

"..."

"I'm pretty sure you two know a thing or two of what the hell is going on here"

Hearing my words, the two wardens went quiet which made them even more suspicious considering these two just come out in the direction of Firepit Island.

And I was sure as hell that these two were keeping a secret which I would really like to know.

"Welp, I'll take your silence as a yes"

"..."

"Any chance you'll tell me whatever secret you guys are keeping?"

"I..."

I could see Warden Palina opening her mouth, hesitating whether to speak up when a deafening roar suddenly shook the skies which interrupted the moment.

Oh, for fucks sake!?

I could feel my ears sting from the cry as all three of us went down to our knees, groaning from the sudden pain.

"...!!"

Why does this keep happening to me?!

I've experienced disturbances and disturbances one after another after I arrived in this area and it has gotten so, very annoying.

I mean, I know my luck isn't really the best but this is just straight-up bullshit at this point.

"Ugh..."

I groaned, rubbing my ears to ease the pain, and stood up when a gigantic, big-ass reddish-orange canine landed in front of us.

- Arooo!

What the hell is it this time?!

I raised my head and was about to berate whoever this thing was when I saw its full appearance and immediately shut my mouth.

Why, you ask?

I dunno, maybe because it's the fricking Noble Pokemon, the Lord Arcanine...

Luckily, I didn't react instantly and curse at it or I would have a very dangerous-looking dog chase my ass.

"Lord Arcanine!"

Ward Palina yelled out so suddenly that it made me flinch as I could see her run up toward the Arcanine like a mother seeing her son after a very long time.

Oh, and there's also Warden Iscan following behind her which makes him the father role in this situation.

And I guess the Hisuian Growlithe is like the youngest or something.

Ehem, I'm getting sidetracked again...

- Arooo...

I watched as Lord Arcanine howled at the two wardens and Growlithe, seemingly trying to convey or express something when the ground shook again but this time...

It was accompanied by a freaking actual tsunami which by the way, was heading towards us at a very frightening rate.

"Well, shit..."

it was then, that a certain memory popped up in my head.

An information that I've neglected or forgotten after coming to Cobalt Coastland. It was the fact that... this Lord Arcanine in front of me died through being swallowed by waves.

I didn't really know the in-depth story behind it since it wasn't discussed too much in the game but I do know this, I'm about to experience another near-death experience... again.

"Hahaha... I'm in danger"
