It was time to head out of the Amadeus boundaries and set foot for Schubert. It was Friday as well, meaning it was an opportunity for me to meet the rest of Valery's Pokemon.
Resting at our cabin after boarding a boat once more in Amadeus instead of traveling all the way back to Wagner, she tossed all six out of their Pokeballs. I've already met Emboar, Sableye, Scizor, and Braviary, meaning there was two in her team where either one of them could mega evolve. I'd also like to see a mega evolution up close for the first time, Rayquaza doesn't.
"This right here is Goodra! And you're not going to guess what type it is."
"Goodra? Hmm..."
Goodra is a bipedal, draconic Pokémon that is coated with slime. Most of its body is pale purple with a darker purple underside. It has bright green eyes, two green spots on each cheek, a relatively long neck, and a short, rounded snout. On top of its head are two pairs of antenna-like horns. The foremost horns are small nubs, but the hind horns are longer, thicker, and curve down its neck. The tips of the larger horns are slightly curled. It has proportionally short limbs with two digits each and a large, thick tail with a curled tip. Along each side of its tail are three green spots. A pale green slime is usually visible dripping from its chin and arms.
"A normal type?"
"No!"
"Psychic, maybe a Psychic Pokemon?"
"Not even close!"
"Oh, if that's the case, a dragon type."
She stood frozen. "How did you know? No one's ever guessed that before! You must have one in your team, don't you?"
" Believe me, I've grown up playing with dragon palm trees in our park."
"Your family owns a park?"
"My mother in law? Yes."
Having Goodra, it didn't matter to her if it's the weakest of all dragon Pokemon. What mattered was that it was cute, like... Goodra!"
"The second one right here is Aerodactyl! Father stole it from a museum as a fossil but gave it to me. That's my Pokemon that could mega evolve!" She showed her mega stone and Aerodactyl's mega stone made as a pendant of a necklace.
It has small, sharply pointed ears, narrow eyes, a ridged snout with a gaping mouth, and a strong lower jaw full of serrated fangs. Its body is covered in light purplish gray skin with violet wing membranes. Aerodactyl's wings consist of a membrane running from the side of the body to the tip of an elongated finger. The clawed hands at the end of each wing allow it to grasp objects. There is a hump-like ridge with a single spike on its back and it has a strong tail with an arrow-shaped tip. Its talon-like feet have two toes in front and one in the back and are capable of scooping up and tightly clutching its prey in flight.
"About when it mega evolves? What happens?"
"Oh, you want to see Aerodactyl mega evolve? Well, um... Not now."
"Why's that?"
"Because I don't want to waste its energy and all. So, you'll have to wait for some bad luck to strike that forces me to use a mega stone!"
"Oh, okay. How does it look like when it mega evolves?"
"When Aerodactyl Mega Evolves, its eyes turn green and the body begins to turn to stone, which some researchers believe was its original appearance before fossilization. It grows larger in size and sprouts jagged black spikes all over its body: five spikes at the wrist joint of each wing replacing its hands, three small spikes along its tail, one spike on each ear, and a long spike on its chin
Because of the burden of Mega Evolution, Mega Aerodactyl is fiercer and more irritable than before. As a result, Mega Aerodactyl attacks anything that moves. So yeah, another reason why I shouldn't Mega Evolve Aerodactyl right off. I don't want my partner to get slaughtered! You and Aerodactyl must familiarize yourselves with one another so that it won't murder you!"
"Okay. How do I do that?"
"Start by shaking each other's hands!"
