She unfurls her hood, unraveling the truth behind her identity. My heart throbs, and I cannot stand the chance to move. Unbelievable. The only word that I could think of at this very moment. I never expected this day to come nor was I expecting the grunt to arrive in the first place. I am uncertain whether to attack or not and perhaps leave everything behind me.
"Impossible. Ch-Charlotte?!" perplexed with everything, my voice stutters as I utter my words. I lost my guard, it is completely down to the ground after seeing my friend alive all this time. I recalled the moment, no one could have survived that fall. What is more heart-breaking is she is part of another organization whom I vow to defeat one day.
"Crobat." And just like that, she ignores me completely, letting out her Pokemon instead of answering me as if she does not know anything about me. It is as if her memory was completely erased from existence. A new Charlotte forged out of complete blankness with the obvious urge to wreck me and possibly, Team Rocket.
"You know her?!" Logan asks in surprise.
"Your Golbat evolved. This was not recent. You were alive all this time and you showed up right now?" I ignore Logan and persist to confront Charlotte.
"I don't even know who you are," she mumbles softly as she commands her Pokemon to use Shadow Ball directly towards me.
Logan comes to rescue, pushing me to the side since I flinched because of her and her Pokemon. Because of this, I stumbled to the floor, nearly wanting to sob only knowing now I have to be rivals with another friend of mine. Her words struck my heart harshly, draining all of my energy and courage to fight. Charlotte, a member of Team Magma?
I was also shocked that Logan saved me. Still, if he tried to that for impression then he miserably failed. Despite this, I stood up from the ground, completely ignoring him as if he was invisible. Charlotte's appearance is too much for my eyes to bear. I have never known Charlotte as a killer. The move, I knew she was directing her Pokemon to attack me rather than Misdreavus. I know this because I did the same thing against my enemies.
"You must be an imposer. My friend is dead, she can't be alive. You failed, Team Magma grunt!" I doubted her appearance and started to believe all of this was a trick of the mind. That all changed when I noticed a scar on her face, this proves my hypothesis, she indeed survived the fall.
"The name's Axis, an elite operative of Team Magma. Soon the world will be filled with nothing but land! Surrender peasants." she demands, throwing off the special device, making it hit the ground. Logan wastes no opportunity. As the two of us glare into each other's eyes, he picks up the special device in which both "Axis" and "Aquarius" dropped. Aquarius dropped it after being shocked by Axis's appearance. The Devon Goods are safe, leaving us to one more trouble.
"You're Charlotte, a Neuro Agent of Team Rocket," I recall desperately.
"I do not recognize that name. Team Rocket will fall and Leader Maxie's name shall be written all over your banner.
"I do not even know who Maxie is. Was he the one who did to you?! Whoever has corrupted my friend's mind shall pay. I am Luna Evergreen, and I know deep inside, you still remember me." sincerely, I beg her tor recall her memory. I hesitated my urge to fight her knowing she is a friend of mine. Although if it is necessary, I'm afraid I and her will be rivals like what I did to Jenny.
A friend is not an exception to fulfilling my goal. I have proven this many times when I fought Jenny. Still, seeing a friend turning into an enemy is quite depressing with the urge to know how it all began.
"Luna!" Logan persistently calls my name, trying to grab my attention earnestly. He even tried to pull my hand but I let go of his grip. A classic stare down happened between me and Charlotte who apparently calls herself Axis. All of a sudden, I feel pain in my heart as I thought of my mother while seeing my friend.
"Crobat, Shadow Ball once more!" And once more I flinch, still having a hard time coping with the things I've seen in which I wished I never saw. Misdreavus takes matters into her own hands, purposely blocking me from the attack and sacrificing herself.
Upon this, I use this as my opportunity to escape. After the attack, it caused an outburst of dust serving as a natural smoke grenade. Quickly I return my Pokemon to her Pokeball as I take a grip of Logan's hand and rushed back to the city proper. Tears fall down my eyes, crippling all the joy that once lingered in my spirit. My melancholy was so immense, I had to mourn.
Soon the clouds turn into black and white like an old film played on a recorder. The rain starts to fall, blending with my tears. She did not seem to be following our footsteps. Just like what I did to the clear bell I decided to keep this as a secret from everyone else, telling none about this to the three leaders. The appearance of a once thought dead agent is mine to keep.
"I have to return to headquarters," I told Logan upon arriving at the city.
"I'm confused. Do you know her?"
"I'm sorry Logan but the things you had seen today are not meant to be seen. Bring those devices to the corporation, I have something to deal with alone. Again, speak none of this." I bid, crying in front of him as I dash out of his sight, giving him no opportunity to reply back.
In the helicopter, a wipe my tears away and pretended to be joyful when inside I face conflict. If I remember correctly, Team Magma has archives of their own, the perfect opportunity for me to figure everything behind this madness. How can Charlotte be alive all of a sudden?
This is my first time to split a whole chapter to two parts. I needed to run some errands thus I needed to split them in order to hurry.
And of course, I won't leave readers confused so I planned a chapter which will also be released today(actually it is the next chapter after this) to further explain everything that has happened in this chapter.
