The alarm clock, so rude, very rude. Ten in the morning in a pleasant day in the town of Oldale, it blared in the desk, giving somewhat a shrieking and noisy sound. Logan who was irritated by it, woke up from his sleep and threw the alarm clock away. He then returned to his dreamy fantasies, slumbering for another hour.
The clock chimed to eleven, an hour before lunch. Gallade sighed and went out of his Pokeball, awakening his trainer. "I have the right to kill the clock, I care not of who makes the springs." said, Logan in a sleepy manner.
<Gallade!> Gallade shouted at his trainer's ears and there he knew, he was late again.
Dashing down the stairs while dressing up in his trainer attire, he asked his mother, "Mom, why didn't you wake me up?!"
"Oh my, I thought you would never wake up! Do you know what time it is? It's eleven in the morning! Professor Birch has been waiting for you for the past three hours! You're eighteen years old, and you as a trainer must learn how to do things independently, you understand?!" her mother scolded him, pointing the spatula at her son.
"Yes mother." Logan said softly as he went to the dining table. Her mother's anger quickly dispersed as she smiled at her newly awakened son and delivering a plate of rice and omelet to his table.
"Now eat your breakfast and hurry up, Professor Birch will be giving you the ticket."
"Ticket? What ticket?"
"Oh my. Have you forgotten? You bought a ticket to the Sinnoh Region remember?" her mother recalled.
"Great, I'm late for my appointment with Professor Rowan."
"Well, like they say, the early bird gets the worm. Sorry darling, but hey? At least you'll be able to receive one starter. I heard there were only two trainers who made an appointment with Professor Rowan as well."
"Two trainers only?! That's great news, don't you think Gallade? Hey, late or not, I'm fine with having any starter."
<Gall!>Gallade nodded his head.
"Sigh, you're determined as ever like your father." staring at her son, Logan's mother began to day-dream about her husband.
"Of course, I'm following his footsteps." said, the determined trainer as he drank a glass full of water in one go.
"Logan! I told you this before, chew your food."
"Hehe, sorry, I was in a hurry."
After finishing his breakfast, Logan hastened his pace and alongside Gallade, he rushed out of his house... but then he returned after forgetting his bag, and this time before leaving he kissed the cheeks of his mother and went straight to the laboratory of Professor Birch.
"Howdy Logan!" Professor Birch greeted upon seeing the exhausted Logan inside his laboratory.
"I'm sorry for making you wait professor." Logan apologized while resting at the floor with his Gallade.
"It's fine, the important thing is that you receive your ticket! Here, have it." with a broad smile , Professor Birch handed over the ferry pass that will grant access for Logan to travel to the Sinnoh Region.
Logan and Gallade marveled at the ticket, dreaming of becoming the next champion of Sinnoh without having any clue about how powerful the champion of their region is. Like father like son, the trainer and his Pokemon stared at each other.
"Gallade, we had lost the Hoenn Conference but this time? There is no way we're losing against the Sinnoh Conference." uttered, Logan as he and his Gallade did a fist bump.
He then addressed the professor, "Please keep my Pokemon safe while I'm on my journey."
"Of course. I'll take good care of them. Good luck at Sinnoh, you're up for a tougher challenge. If I were you, I'd pick the battle frontier like May, Brendan, and Wally but if that is what you want, then go for it!"
"You got it Professor Birch! This region has taught me that there are still things that I must improve to be like my father. My dream, near but far to reach. I know I'll be like my father one day, as the journey continues!"
