Saffron City 

Author Note :

The last chapter created some confusion so let me clarify them.

Type immunity is not absolute in this fanfiction.

If the power of the move or certain energy reaches a certain level, they can ignore the immunity.

For example, Charmeleon's dragon-type attacks could hurt Clefairy's body because the power of the move had reached a certain level.

If Clefairy used fairy-type coating on time, the damage would have been less or if she attacked with a fairy-type move, a lot of the dragon-type energy could have been completely negated.

A similar case happened in the Nidorino vs Lucario fight where Lucario in spite of having steel typing, got poisoned as Nidorino's poison reached a level that ignored Lucario's resistance.

The night sky was dark but the lights in the Saffron City shined brightly illuminating the surrounding.

The change in the quality of the air could be instantly felt after entering the city.

In spite of the city being very developed, the city was cleaner than expected.

"So this is Saffron City…." Misty looked at the magnificent city from a low hill.

There were tall buildings as far as eyes could see illuminated by bright light.

"Nice right, I came here a lot during my childhood, " Aoki said.

Saffron City was the hometown of Aoki's grandparents from his mother's side.

He used to visit them a lot but they passed away when he was 11 due to an accident after which he stopped coming to the city.

Aoki's father has a branch of his restaurant in Saffron City so his parents occasionally come and stay in that house as it is now empty.

Misty was happy that they didn't have to pay for the hotel as good hotels in Saffron City were very costly.

"Let's get going then "

As they walked through the busy streets of Saffron City, Misty looked all around with amazement as she only saw Saffron City in pictures.

Just like other cities based on the theme of a gym, this city had a purple and blue theme all over.

On the top of a tall building, a live telecast of a concert was being played making people look up.

There were a lot of cars and two-wheelers on the streets but the traffic was controlled very well.

He could see all sorts of people walking with different Pokemon.

"Be careful Misty, there are a lot of pickpocketers here" warned Aoki as he felt a gaze towards his belt.

[This land gave me a feeling of nostalgia] said Darkrai from Aoki's shadow.

'Do you remember something Darkrai ?'

[Although the landscape has changed, I still remember some of the childhood days I had spent on this land.

Along with happy memories, these lands also hold some depressing memories…

This was the place where I had my first battle resulting in thousands of deaths. ]

Aoki looked at the children playing with smiles on their faces.

'Your companions….must be hard for you without them'

[It is hard…..sometimes I feel a soul-crushing pain and regret what I did to them…for my selfishness…for choosing a different path]

'Because of your choices, people are smiling today.

Although you can't change the past, you can certainly try to live the present the best so that you don't have any regrets in the future.

You have to keep on living, for yourself and others whose density you took into your own hands.

We are now a family as we need to look after one another. Share everything with me that makes you happy, that makes you angry, that makes you sad…only by opening up to others, you can ease your pain.

The more you keep it to yourself, the more you suffer.

Darkrai listened to what Aoki said but didn't give a reply.

After walking in the busy streets for a while, they finally reached the Pokemon center.

As always, it was packed with trainers and people. After standing in a line, they gave their Pokemons for a round of checkups and healing.

The Nurse handed them their Pokeballs and asked if they needed room to stay.

Aoki politely refused and left the Pokemon center.

Aoki called for a taxi to take them to their restaurant from where Aoki could find the keys to his house.

It was around 10 p.m so they took a taxi instead of walking as it was quite far.

The restaurant was in a good location so there was no shortage of customers.

Misty was surprised to see a four-story tall restaurant made of glass.

'Julia's Kitchen' was the name of the restaurant. The piece of land was originally owned by Aoki's grandfather and was passed on to his parents after their marriage.

"Let's have dinner here Misty"

Aoki and Misty entered the restaurant and were greeted by a middle-aged staff. The staff's eyes lit up seeing Aoki as he bowed down to him.

"Long time no see young master Aoki !! "

"Haha long time no see uncle Sebas" Aoki greeted back.

"Misty meet Sebastian, he is been working with my father for almost 16 years.

He is also the caretaker of our house here " Aoki introduced Misty to him making him surprised to see Aoki now had a girlfriend.

Sebastian has known Aoki since birth and how rejected a lot of women who proposed to him. He looked at Misty and thought. 'She is beautiful..as expected of the young master. He will only go for the best..'

Although the restaurant was packed with customers, Aoki and Misty were given a VIP seat to dine in.

The waiters also knew Aoki and greeted him.

After a satisfying dinner, Aoki reached their stay around 11: 30 pm.

The house was in the part of the city called Old Saffron where the development was less as compared to the main city.

The house was of two stories with around 10 bedrooms for them to stay in. There was even a lawn and a swimming pool for them to use.

Misty looked around and found a lot of framed pictures of Aoki's grandparents, Aoki's mother, and childhood pictures of Aoki.

This house held a lot of memories for Aoki.

From doing fun experiments with his grandfather to having cooking battles with his grandmother.

His grandparents loved him a lot and always bought him a lot of gifts whenever he used to visit them.

Aoki connected a video call with their mother to tell her about their stay.

She was happy that Aoki had successfully reached Saffron city.

They talked for a while then his mother asked for Misty.

His mother knew about his natural ability to attract women so he asked Misty to make sure Aoki doesn't come in contact with any toxic woman who just wants to leech him off.

After having the talk they slept soundly in a soft bed that they missed since Flannery city.
