The Orphanage

When Xyno wakes up it was already 4:30 pm. Xyno gets up and realizes he was sleeping for about 3 hours.

"I slept quite soundly, camping outside was not a very great experience. Guess I should get up and go check up on the kids in the orphanage. I wonder if Chisato is over there at the moment. Well lets give her a surprise."

Xyno changes and goes out after picking up all the Pokeballs.

He decides to first visit the Orphanage. He wanted to see the kid's delighted face when they meet their very own first Pokemon.

When he arrives at the Orphanage, he notices the caretaker lady sitting in her rocking chair, looking off into the red sky which was slowly turning red.

The Orphanage was not backed by any big fundraisers or the government of the city, but a single old lady ran the Orphanage for the kids from her own savings. No one said anything when the old lady decided that she will take care of the kids till they grow into adults at 15.

The old lady was a kind soul who had suffered vastitudes of life. She was already over 100 but looked like she was in her 50's. After all, she was a tier 5. They can live up to 150 years in normal cases. There are ways to add even some extra decades to lifespan.

Xyno greets the kind old lady with a smile.

"Hello ma'am. How are you feeling today?"

"Oh, I'm feeling just fine. Have you come to visit the children again?" The old lady answered back with a wholesome smile.

"Yes, ma'am. I wanted to give the kids a little present before I go back to my home. It's been a long time since I came to this city."

"Oh how sweet of you young man. I know the children will love the presents when they receive them. The kids really do love Pokemons."

Xyno was shocked that she knew the present.

(Guess Chisato told her. She is an Elite Tier though, despite her looks.)

The old lady's Tier class was Elite. Even though she did not look like it, she was a pretty good trainer in her prime.

"Chisato is playing with the kids at the moment. Tell her to have a word with me before heading back."

"I will, ma'am."

Xyno goes in and goes to the backyard where Chisato was playing with the kids. Her Pokemon were taking a nap in the corner of the lawn.

Rosaline notices Xyno and shouts his name.

"Big Brother Xyno!!" She runs over and hugs him tightly.

Everyone who was busy playing suddenly stopped and rushed over to Xyno.

Chisato was happy to see Xyno back safe and sound from the Forest. Forest is full of danger. Even if powerful pokemon don't usually come out of the mana-rich core region, there can be rare cases sometimes.

"You are back. How did your camping go?" Chisato asks Xyno like a wife who greets her husband when he comes home after a long day of work.

"Good. Feels good to be back as well and meet you guys."

"Big Brother Xyno! You are back!" Ben shouted in joy as the others celebrated.

"Yeah, I am back. And I have brought presents for all of you."

Xyno takes out 6 Pokeballs and presents them to the kids

Tommy jumped in joy.

"Yay! We finally get Pokemon of our own!"

"Okay, okay. Here you guys go."

Xyno hands each of them a Pokeball containing the Pokemon he caught in the forest.

"Go ahead. Get them out of their balls"

James throws his ball which contained a Starly. The Starly upon being released looks around and flies over and sits on James head.

"Yes! A Starly! I like him so much!"

Ben throws his ball and a Bidoof comes out. The Bidoof looks over at Ben and moves it's little teeth, showing he was smiling.

"Wow! A Bidoof!" Ben pets the Bidoof who seemed to like the gesture.

Rosaline receives Aipom as her first Pokemon. The Aipom comes out of it's ball and greets Rosaline in the same way a nobleman does by bowing.

"Oh he is so well-mannered! I love him!" Aipom and Rosaline quickly grew friendly and they high five.

Chtholly who was eager to meet her first Pokemon was surprised since Budew was the Pokemon she wanted to have.

"Oh my God! Thanks I wanted a Budew so much! Thank you Big Brother."

Tommy and Wanda throw their Pokeballs at the same time and notice their Bug Pokemon.

The Burmy look at Tommy and tries to hide it's face, showing that it was very shy.

"Wow! A bug Pokemon! So Cool!"

The Wurmple looks at Wanda and crawls closer to her.

Wanda gets surprised and she backs but trips. The Wurmple stops but then slowly approaches her, smiling and lets her pet her. Wanda feels the kindness of the Wurmple and gets overjoyed.

"Wow! She is very cute! Thank you Big Brother Xyno!" Wanda hugs Xyno tightly.

Seeing the kids get super happy upon receiving their very first Pokemon, Xyno feels like he has done a great cause and feels accomplished.

The kids all thank Xyno and proceed to play with their starters.

Chisato hugs Xyno and greets him.

The two spend some time chatting with each other and watching the kids play with their Pokemon.

When the sun starts to set, Xyno decides to head back since he needed to sell off the other catches to the Academy.

"See you guys soon. I have to go now."

Xyno waves goodbye to the kids and heads over to the Academy.

When at the Academy, he goes over to the receptionist and talks to her who greets him.

"Hello, how may I help you, Professor Xyno?"

"I came to turn in some Pokemon I caught in the wild for the new comers."

"Oh, thank you for always helping us out with the distribution of Pokemon to the new trainers and people alike. Level 20 and above pokemon having talent greater than D will be assigned for various practical studies and hence will fetch you more money. Please sign this paper and fill in the information."

After filling all the formalities Xyno hands the paper back to the receptionist.

"Thank you for your help. You can drop off the Pokeballs over at the counter and according to their level and Talent, you will receive the appropriate amount."

Xyno turns in all of the Pokemon he caught, except the Leader of the Scythers. He wanted to send him back to Maria's mansion as a present.

There was a table of the amount you can receive from selling a Pokemon.

Mutant Pokemon were more profitable from normal Pokemon and sold for a lot of money. There was an increase of around 2k Pokedollar for each Level above 20.

"Thank you for your generous help. We will send the money over to your Pokebank account. Please wait for a few minutes while we evaluate the pokemon.."

After a couple minutes Xyno receives a notification on his Phone.

He earner quite much. The main reason for that was his Unique skill. He could easily check talented Pokemon as they fetch more money. There was technology present at the Academy that can check Pokemon talents but these are heavy machines and can't usually be used in wild.

(Huh. Quite good. If I sold this mutant Scyther I think I will make double that amount at least from just him.)

Xyno made a decent amount of Money from handing in the Pokemon.

Xyno goes over to the research facility and calls Maria's mansion from a transfer station there. These are called transfer stations because you can transfer pokeballs containing pokemons through here to another similar machine. They have a similar station at Maria's mansion for personal use and one at Regina's research facility for official use.

This teleportation technology is truly marvelous.

One of the maids picks up the phone.

"Hello, how can I help you?"

"Rin? Is that you?" Xyno greets the maid.

The video screen brightens up and shows the mansion's footage.

"Oh my God, Master Xyno?! I'm glad you are okay. Are you doing fine over at the Academy?"

"Yeah I'm doing fine. Can you grab Maria or Regina the phone? I have a present for them."

"Sure, Master Xyno."

Rin calls Maria who rushes over.

"Hello? Xyno? Is that really you?! Oh I'm so glad to hear your voice. Are you okay over there?"

Maria shows immediate concern for Xyno's health.

"Haha. I'm fine Maria. How are you? Where's Regina?"

Regina comes rushing in. She looked somewhat haggard like she had not slept for some night. Whenever she gets into her research, she just forgets about everything else. Although when she is with Xyno she puts more time into social life but in his absence, her research is going in full swing.

"Xyno! It's really you! You look much more handsome than last time. So, how is the Academy treating you?"

"It's fine, I guess. I did run into some problems in the start, but your Gengar helped me quite a bunch."

"It's fine as long as you are okay. Gengar is a little mischievous and wacky, but he gets the job done."

"So, what's with the sudden call? Do you miss us?"

"Want to do something naughty?"

They both showed a mischievous smile.

"Oh nothing. I just wanted to check up on you guys and send you a present."

Xyno transfers the Scyther over with the teleporter. The Ball vanishes in an instant and materializes over at the mansion's teleporter.

"It's a mutant Scyther I caught yesterday when I went out camping. It was quite strong, but Sett took care of him."

"Oh, nice. Looks interesting. Thanks for the present Xyno."

Xyno talks on the phone for quite some time. they had some casual talks.

"Ok, I guess I'll be hanging up now. See you two soon."

He decided to hang up after some time. Anyways he can call them from his pokephone anytime.

"Bye Xyno, Love you~"

Xyno hangs up the phone as a flying kiss comes over at the screen from both Regina and Maria.

(They really miss me quite much. Time spent at the mansion was the best one of my life. ) Xyno got somewhat emotional over the subject.

(Guess I really love them? Then there is Chisato too. And I don't even know about Nicole's whereabouts.)

"Sigh~ there is no use thinking about it for now. Let nature take its course."

Although polygamy was normal in this world but relationships are never simple. His thesis was already completed and he would soon get his Jr. Pokemon Researchers certification. His journey is soon going to start so he cannot be tangled with such concerns.

Xyno leaves the facility and goes back to his residence and decides to call it a day.
