13. Reclamation And Second Evolution

Shu, Misty and Ash alongside Pikachu and Nidoran are running behind Samurai. Soon they saw a house made of wood into which the Samurai ran into with the group following behind before Shu closed the door. Then the stingers of Beedrills went through the door as Samurai made sure the door will stay closed.

"They will linger outside for sometime so it's best to stay inside." Samurai said to them as he sat on the floor and let out a sigh.

"There are a lot of them." Shu said as he looked through the hole in the door.

"It was your luck that you followed me. Those Beedrills would've chased you relentlessly." Samurai said to them.

"Yeah I already know that." Shu said with a smile as he sat on the floor.

"Thankfully we are safe." Ash said with a sigh.

"Well, I hope that you have learned your lesson amateur. If you had caught that Weedle then this problem wouldn't have happened." Samurai said as he took off his samurai head armor and placed it on a shelf.

"Don't call me an amateur!" Ash said angrily.

"I will say it. You're even worse than me. Because even an amateur wouldn't leave their Pokemon alone." Samurai said to him seriously.

"I... tried to save Metapod." Ash said as he looked down.

Shu just closed his eyes as Ash grit his teeth and balled his hands tightly.

"Because of you Metapod will have to pay a heavy price. Even the other trainers from Pallet Town were this irresponsible." Samurai said catching the attention of Ash.

"Other trainers from Pallet Town? Does that mean you've battled against Gary and the other trainers?" Ash asked surprised as he looked at the boy.

"Of course, I've fought 3 matches. Each match was better than the last. They knew how to raise their Pokemons. Even though I lost in all 3 of those matches I've learned a lot. Now I am waiting here for the day when I will be able to defeat a trainer from Pallet Town." Samurai said with a fond smile.

"Is that why you've waited here for all this time for Ash and Shu?" Misty asked him with a surprised look.

"Compared to those three he is just a clown." Samurai said as he looked at Ash.

Ash just grit his teeth at the insult and looked down as Samurai looked at Shu who is looking at him.

"And as for you, since I haven't battled against you I don't know much about you. But from your reaction to the Beedrill Swarm you seem to be a much better trainer than this guy." Samurai said to him.

"Well, it's unfortunate that we can't have a match to determine how strong you are." Shu said to him calmly.

"Perhaps. But if you are of the same calibre as that of the other trainers then you will be able to defeat me as well. Of course I won't make it easy." Samurai said to him.

"We'll think about that when we are not in danger of those Beedrills." Shu said to him.

"Agreed. As long as we won't make much commotion the Beedrills will most likely go back." Samurai said as he looked at the door.

"Do you have food?" Misty asked the Samurai.

"Yeah, I have enough for a small group but you have to pitch in as well." Samurai said to them.

"That's not a problem." Shu said to him as he glanced at Ash.

After that they had their dinner and in time the group of four humans and two Pokemons were ready to sleep. Misty, Samurai, Pikachu and Nidoran were fast asleep. Shu and Ash were the only ones awake.

'I want to say something to him but I don't know what to say.' Shu thought to himself as he stared at the ceiling.

"Ash, you awake?" Shu asked knowing that he will be.

"Yeah." Ash said after a few seconds.

"You're thinking about Metapod aren't you?" Shu asked him.

"Yeah, I can't believe I let the Beedrills take him." Ash said as he kept on staring at the ceiling.

"I can't exactly say anything to comfort you Ash, you should already know by now that you should've called back Metapod the moment we saw them. It's not something that you have to be told." Shu said to him.

"I know." Ash said to him.

"Just be careful okay." Shu said knowing what he is about to do.

He then went to sleep as Ash was still awake as he thought about the words said by Shu.

Time skip

Shu woke up early in the morning and got out of his futon and looked at where Ash was sleeping only to see an empty futon as his eyes widened.

'I knew he would wake up earlier than the three but I didn't think it would be this early.' Shu thought to himself surprised.

"Misty, Samurai, Pikachu, Nidoran, get up Ash isn't here." Shu said as he called them as he got dressed.

The others also woke up and were surprised to find that Ash isn't in his futon.

"He woke up early?" Misty asked surprised.

"That doesn't matter. If that idiot has gone to get his Metapod then he will be in danger of being attacked by the Beedrills." Samurai said as he got up and wore his hat.

"What should we do? We can't fight all those Beedrills." Misty said worried.

"Don't worry, I have a net cage in the house, in case I had to go through an area with a lot of Beedrills. I know the place where the Beedrill nest is so I can take you there. Also, yesterday you said you have a Kakuna right?" Samurai said as he looked at Shu.

"Yes I do have a Kakuna." Shu said to him with a nod.

"Then bring it out. Maybe it can talk to the other Beedrills and calm them down." Samurai said to which Shu nodded.

He then called out Kakuna and told it about the plan as the Pokemon agreed to it. Then the group walked out of the house and went towards the Beedrill nest. Samurai used his net cage of sorts to cover them as they made their way towards it. They jogged for a few minutes before they heard an explosion.

"Oh no, that's near the nest." Samurai said surprised.

"Let's go fast." Shu said as they increased the speed.

The group managed to reach the nest and saw Ash kneeling on the ground as he has Metapod in his arms.

"Ash behind you!" Shu shouted as a Beedrill is about to reach Ash.

Just then Metapod jumped and took the attack of the Beedrill causing it to fly away as Ash caught his Pokemon.

"Metapod!" Ash shouted scared at seeing a small hole on Metapod.

The rest of the group also reached near him as Ash called out to his Pokemon. Shu knew that this is the moment when Metapod is about to evolve. But then he heard movement in his arms and looked down and saw Kakuna moving a bit and making noises causing his eyes to widen.

'Wait a minute. Caterpie and Weedle evolve very quickly than other Pokemon, and since the both of them became Metapod and Kakuna at almost the same time, then...' Shu thought to himself as he looked at his Pokemon.

Then Metapod and Kakuna glowed in white light causing the others to become surprised. Then in the hands of their trainer's Metapod and Kakuna evolved to become Butterfree and Beedrill.

"M-Metapod evolved." Ash said shocked.

"And so did Kakuna." Shu said with a smile at his Beedrill.

"This is not the time to celebrate, the Beedrills are coming." Samurai said to Ash.

"I know. Beedrill, get inside your Pokeball." Shu said before recalling Beedrill inside it's Pokeball.

Then he called Beedrill outside the cage as said Pokemon gave its greetings to Butterfree which the Bug Pokemon returned.

"Beedrill, try to calm the Beedrill down if not then use Quick Attack continuously." Shu said to which Beedrill went and tried to calm the Beedrills down.

But the Beedrills attacked it to which it dodged and started to use Quick Attack to attack them.

"I know! Butterfree use Sleep Powder and help Beedrill!" Ash said to Butterfree as he nodded.

Then Butterfree started to use Sleep Powder and used it to put some of them to sleep while Beedrill knocked out the Beedrills and together the two Pokemons managed to take care of the swarm.

"Yes Butterfree! You did it!" Ash shouted happily as he jumped while Butterfree circled him.

"You did a good job Beedrill." Shu congratulated Beedrill as he teleported outside the cage surprising Samurai.

"He's a psychic but he isn't that strong." Misty said to which the boy nodded in understanding.

After that the group were at the road outside of the forest as they were about to say their goodbyes to Samurai.

"We didn't have the match." Shu said to the Samurai.

"Don't worry, from his words you are a very good trainer. If my Pinsir had lost to him then I won't be able to defeat you. I will train here and get stronger before I challenge you." Samurai said to him with a smile.

"Well, if you want to become stronger then you're gonna have to get more Pokemon than Pinsir and Metapod." Shu said with a smile.

"I'll be sure to remember that. Also Ash, you may not be an experienced trainer, but you had managed to control your Butterfree nicely so you have my respect." Samurai said as he looked at Ash.

"Yeah, and by the time we meet again I'll be an even stronger trainer. Count on it." Ash said to him with a determined gaze.

"I hope I will never have to come back here." Misty muttered to herself which was heard by Pikachu and Nidoran.

Both Pokemon who were on the ground looked at eachother before silently snickering.

"Well, we'll now be on our way to Pewter City. See you soon." Shu said as he turned around and started to walk on the way as he waved at the Samurai.

"Make sure to get stronger Samurai!" Ash said to the boy as he walked with them.

"Goodbye!" Misty said as she waved at him as well.

"Goodbye my friends. May you have a wonderful journey and I hope that the next time we meet eachother we will be able to battle wholeheartedly. Getting more Pokemon huh." Samurai said before looking at the sky remembering Shu's words.

Shu smiled as he walked alongside Misty and Ash with their partners walking beside them. Shu looked at the sky with a smile as he walked with his companions towards his next destination.
