CHAPTER 80 – POKÉMON HUNTER

In the previous chapter we see that our heroes arrive in Vermillion City without any other incident and enjoy the rest of the day, surprisingly, due to their great performance in their work with the professor, he offers them a trip with all-expenses paid to the famous Shamouti Island a luxurious resort, but in return he asks them to help a girl named Fleura, which is responsible for ensuring that no one disturbs the legendary birds that protect the island, because it believes that some suspicious people have been on the island.

"I want a lemonade" - Nancy said.

"I want the same as Ash" - Verity said.

"I want a chocolate milkshake if its possible" - Koharu added.

I myself will order the drinks from my two Pokémon as they could not clearly say what they wanted, but as their trainer, I know all their tastes.

After ordering the soft drinks and having them brought to us, we began to talk about more serious matters.

"First of all I would like to thank you for spending your time helping me, the professor told me that you are Pokémon trainers and I know I shouldn't waste your time, but I have no choice" - said Fleura.

"Don't worry, after all we couldn't ignore someone who needs our help" - I said with a smile.

Fleura seemed to blush a little, but quickly recovered.

"W-Whatever, thank you" - said Fleura.

"You're welcome, now tell us, what's the problem?" – I asked.

"As the professor told you, there have been suspicious people prowling the area which made me suspicious" - she began to explain.

"Are you sure they're not just tourists?" - asked Nancy.

"At first I believed that too, but then I saw them prowling around the sanctuary and not once, but every day for 1 week and they always stayed like 3 hours more or less" - she replied.

"The sanctuary?" – asked Koharu.

"The sanctuary is where the spheres of ice, lightning and fire are located, which allows you to know the status of the legendary birds of their respective islands, of course tourists are forbidden to enter but they can see the sanctuary from outside, in addition to the sanctuary is located on a small island south of the archipelago "– she explained.

"I see, but if that's the case, shouldn't we have gathered there? I say this because it is dangerous to leave that place unattended" - I added.

"Don't worry about that, I left my grandfather in charge of the sanctuary so that I could talk calmly with you" - she replied.

"Then everything perfect, what do you want us to do?" – I asked.

"I want you to come with me to the sanctuary and watch with me, once those people appear I want you to follow them without them seeing you, they probably know who I am and they will flee if I try to follow them, but they do not know you so they will take you as simple tourists who come to see the temple" - she explained.

"I see, you want us to follow them, and what do we do next?" - asked Verity.

"I want you to find out if my hunches were true or just plain unfounded, if they are true... I beg you to help me, this place is sacred and we cannot allow anyone to disturb the peace or the consequences will be unimaginable" - she explained.

The girls and I looked at each other and nodded.

"We'll gladly help you, right girls?" – I said.

"Of course!" – they all said.

"Thank you very much, now let's finish our refreshments and I will take you to the sanctuary!" – said Fleura.

And so it was, because after taking our smoothies, Fleura guided us to the sanctuary, as she said, the sanctuary was south of the archipelago and we even had to take a small boat to get there, the good thing is that it was not far and we arrived in less than 30 minutes.

The island had no inhabitants, it was all nature, the only construction made by humans was the sanctuary that stood before us and which by the way had to be accessed by climbing a lot of stairs.

"The island as you can see is quite large, but we decided to leave it as it is, without touching it to avoid disturbing the legendary birds and the Pokémon in the area, we only built the sanctuary because as you know it is absolutely necessary to preserve the peace of the entire archipelago "– explained Fleura.

Returning to the subject, with a little effort we climbed the stairs and I must say that my first impression about the sanctuary was "huge", not as big as a mansion, but it could be qualified as a small mansion, yes, it was beautiful and the style i would say is Japanese, it seemed even old but if you got closer, you might notice that it actually is new.

"I'm sure you were surprised that it's so big, but you see, this is also where I live, my family has been protecting this place for generations, so we decided to live here," Fleura explained.

"I must say that it's gorgeous, i love it" - Verity said with stars in her eyes.

"I love it too, I don't know how to describe it but it gives me a sense of tranquility when I'm here" - Koharu agreed.

"Yes... it's quite relaxing and the breeze and the sun helps with all of that" - Nancy added.

"The girls are right is beautiful and the fact that it is surrounded by nature makes it even more beautiful in my opinion" – I nodded.

And Latias also liked it because she looked at everything amazed by the views.

Then he took out his pink Rotom Dex and transferred the number to me via Bluetooth, it's convenient.

After giving me her number, Fleura said goodbye and left us alone.

"Now what do we do?" – Nancy asked after seeing that Fleura left.

"Easy, let's go around here and see if there is something suspicious" - I said.

"But how will we know that they are suspicious people and not just tourists who come to see the shrine?" - asked Verity.

"You have to look if they have an unusual behavior" - I said.

They all nodded and we spread out around the area to cover more ground.

It had been 3 hours since we arrived at the sanctuary and we started looking for someone who looked suspicious, however, we did not find anything, if it is true that some tourist came from time to time, but nothing suspicious, they simply took some photos with their Pokémon and then left, in other words, simple tourists.

"Have you found anyone suspicious?" – I asked as I met the girls.

"Nothing at all, just tourists taking pictures with their Pokémon" - Nancy sighed.

"Here the same" - Verity said.

"I haven't seen anything out of the ordinary" - Koharu said.

Latias also shook his head so I guess that meant she hadn't found anything, but just as she was going to say something, Pikachu touched my shoulder.

"What's wrong Pikachu?" – I asked curiously.

"Pika pi" – Pikachu said pointing to a place.

I looked in the direction Pikachu marked and could catch a glimpse of a man wearing a mask and a cloak hiding behind a tree, barely peeking out.

"Girls, look there, but don't stare at it, just a glimpse" – I said in a whisper.

The girls nodded and quickly looked in the direction seeing the man.

"What should we do now?" - asked Nancy.

"Let's wait for him to leave, meanwhile I will write to Fleura and tell him the situation, if he leaves, let me know" – I said quietly.

The girls nodded and began to dissemble while casting sporadic glances in the man's direction.

I for my part opened the APP known as RotomChat, which as its name suggests, was a well-known APP in this world that served to chat, you know, as that green app of our world, it has exactly the same function and is just as famous in this world, only its name was RotomChat and not the other.

As I was saying, I wrote to Fleura that we had found the suspicious man and that we were going to start following him shortly, to which she replied that she would also come out to which I nodded.

"Ash, he's moving, we have to follow him" – Koharu suddenly said.

Luckily, at that moment Fleura arrived and we were able to follow it all together.

"We must hurry but we cannot let him see us" - said Fleura.

We all nodded and followed him in silence.

The man didn't seem to have noticed that a bunch of people were following him and continued on his way.

We continued walking for two hours until, finally, the man stopped in a place in the forest that seemed to have been destroyed by something because the surrounding trees were broken and there was no Pokémon in the area.

The man stood up and took out a kind of command.

"What are he going to do?" - asked Verity.

We all watched intently as the man pressed a button, suddenly, a kind of huge ship appeared out of nowhere, surprising us all.

"Okay, now that those morons in the sanctuary are distracted and there are only a few tourists, it's time to start my plan, with my ship, I'll get those legendary adult birds and sell them to the highest bidder, I can't wait to see how much they'll pay me for them, hahaha!" – laughed the man.

"Bastard!" - said Fleura angrily.

But his cry did not go unnoticed by the man who looked in our direction.

"Oops, oops, but look what we have here, the Miko of the shrine and her fellow 'tourists', I must admit that you have done a great job following me, but do not deceive anyone, it is clear that this is your way of asking for help, Miss Fleura" – said the man with a smile.

"You! Are you aware of what will happen if you imprison the legendary birds?" – said Fleura angrily.

"Of course, I'll be a millionaire! Do you know how much money I will be paid just for a legendary adult bird on the black market? Ten million and just for one offspring, I can't imagine the amount of money I will be paid for three adults!" – said the man with an evil smile.

Now that I look, the man was just like the one in the movie and even had that golden mask.

"We won't let you, you'd better go for good!" – I said seriously.

"Wow, you're brave kid and from what I see you are all here to prevent me from carrying out my plan, unfortunately for you, I already did my job " - said the man.

"What did you do?" - asked Fleura.

But the question answered itself because at that moment a tremor happened on the island.

"What's going on?!" – Koharu said nervously.

"I will tell you, since it is difficult for me to defeat them on their ground, I took the liberty of stealing their eggs without them knowing, do you know now where the tremor came from?" – explained the man.

"You took their eggs, you bastard!" - said Fleura angrily.

"Which means they just realized and are looking for them like crazy, give us back those eggs, now!" – I said angrily.

"Do you think you can come here and take away my hard-earned eggs? Now they will not only give me money for the adults but also for the eggs, goodbye kids and do not try to follow me" - said the man.

And suddenly he got on his ship, which took off in a few seconds, before we had time to react.

"Oh, no, if he catches the birds we will have a huge problem!" - said Verity nervously.

"Guys, please, you must return those eggs to their place, if we do not calm their island the archipelago will be lost!" – pleaded Fleura.

"Careless, we'll take care of the eggs, Latias let's go" - I said.

Latias nodded and returned to his Pokémon form.

"Latios, I choose you, it's time to help!" – and that was Verity.

"Shaymin, it's your turn to help them!" - said Nancy.

"Charizard, it's time to fight!" – and that me.

Our 4 flying Pokémon, they will take us to the ship, I do not know what to do next, but we will see it once in the air.

Then I ride in Latias and Verity in Latios.

"Verity and I will take care of the ship, go check the situation and try not to leave the area" – I said.

"Good!" - said Nancy, Koharu and Fleura.

"Don't worry, we'll come back with the eggs" - Verity said.

"Pika pi" – and that was Pikachu.

And then we flew in the direction of the ship.
