First Speed Battle Debut!

A few days later

Ace was sitting at home, holding the two little gremlins as they slept in his arms, he had the Battle footage from the class and sighed as he watched.

'XX use Hyper Beam!'

'XX: ???????'

Ace rubbed his eyes and continued watching. He had been doing this for a few days now. He was sure this was harmful to his IQ…

Currently, Elesa was in the Gym, doing a Speed Battle. She had been operational for a few days now, and gave people the option for either a Speed Battle or a Standing Battle. 

The Challengers who came to the Gym were dumbfounded when they heard the rules for Speed Battles, then excited! 

That sounds awesome!

The only problem was, not everyone had fast Pokemon. While basically all of Elesa's Pokemon were fast.

Elesa looked back on her RotomRunner, "Zebstrika, Volt Switch!" Zebstrika turned and charged at Aerodactyl and smashed into it, bouncing back to Elesa, who threw out Elmoga while catching Zebstrika with his Pokeball, putting it on the Rotom Runner slot.

The Challenger shouted, "Aerodactyl!" Aerodactyl fell behind before flapping his wings and catching up, Emolga glided in the air next to Elesa, making a face at Aerodactyl, who got angry.

The Challenger shouted, "Go now! Iron Head!" Aerodactyl flew at Emola as Elesa said calmly, "Tail Wind, ride the current." Emolga waved her wings and glided out of the way as aerodactyl swooped and missed, turning back as Elesa said, "Acrobatics!"

Emolga did a few loops in the air, dodging the Aerodactyl while laughing, "Emo Emo Emolga~" Aerodactyl got angry again and the challenger shouted, "Stone Edge!" Massive stones shot out at Emolga as Elesa smiled, "Dodge it, then Thunder!"

Emolga swiveled around the rocks with the help of the Tail Wind before crying out as a pillar of lightning fell from the sky on Aerodactyl, making him cry out in pain, "Aero!" he fell from the sky as the Challenger took him back, clicking his tongue as he threw out another Pokemon, "Come on Beedrill!"

A Beedrill appeared, "Bee!" as he started flying quickly, Elesa looked back and took Emolga back, throwing out Manectric. The Challenger raised a fist, "Mega Evolve!" Beedrill turned into Mega Beedrill and started speeding around.

Elesa pursed her lips and pulled on a 'Pearl' necklace. The Challenger was dumbfounded, how many Mega Stones do you have?! Elesa smiled, "Mega Evolve, Manectric!"

Manectric jumped over the RotomRunner and changed in midair!

Landing on the ground and looking like flowing lightning as he continued running quickly, Elesa shouted, "Electric Terrain!" Manectric howled as the Challenger shouted, "Fell Stinger!" Elesa snapped her fingers, "Wild Charge!" Manectric howled and rushed at the Beedrill like lightning, lunging at him as the Beedrill stung with his stinger insanely fast!

They collided and backed off as Elesa shouted, "Rain Dance!" Manectric jumped side to side before lunging forward, howling as rain started to fall. Beedrill got wet and the Challenger pointed forward, "Don't worry about it, Beedrill! Pin Missile!" Beedrill's stingers flew out, stabbing at Manectric as Elesa shouted, "Now! Discharge!" 

Manectric howled and lightning exploded from his body smashing the Stingers and lashing Beedrill, making it chitter loudly in pain! The Challenger shouted, "U-Turn!" Beedrill flew at Manectric quickly and Elesa called out, "Thunder on yourself!"

Manectric howled and a pillar of lightning fell on Manectric, electrocuting Beedrill and knocking him out! The Challenger passed the Beedrill on the Runner and took him back, sighing "You did great, Beedrill." 

He looked at Elesa and smiled wryly, "You win." Elesa smiled and took back Manectric, "This is a new battle format, you did well for your first time."

Back at home

Ace looked at a student calling out for 'Super Mega Ultimate Poison Sting' with dead fish eyes…

The next class

Ace sat at the desk, looking at the Students, who were chatting happily. He stood up, putting Emily and Kengo on the desk as he pulled down a screen from the ceiling. He tapped on his phone and swiped towards the screen as the battle footage appeared on the screen.

Surskit said, "Hey! It's me!" Minute was shocked, saying in a high pitched voice, "Our battle?" before covering her mouth, coughing, as she returned to a deeper voice, "I mean… Oh, it's our battle." Ace's lips twitched and he looked at her, what on Earth are you cross dressing for…

This isn't an anime!

He took out a laser marker and said, "We'll start with the most egregious of the battles. Surskit and Minute…" he let out a breath and continued, "First of all, Tandemaus doesn't have Hyper Beam. So that is a mistake. You have to communicate with your partners to figure out what moves they can learn or already know…"

They watched the battle some more until Surskit said, "Surskit! Ice Beam!" Minute shouted, "Tandemaus, dodge it!" but the Tandemaus ran in opposite directions, getting their conjoined tails hit by the Ice Beam and frozen solid.

Surskit smiled, "Hehe~"

Ace turned back and said, "That Hehe~ is the worst of your problems, Minute. With Tandemaus, you have to direct both of them at the same time. They look like one Pokemon but they're different. If you say dodge, they'll run around wildly… Like what just happened."

Minute hung her head as Ace continued, "At the least, you have to tell them to disconnect. The advantage of Tandemaus is that you have more than one Pokemon, meaning that they are a team, but also that they can exhibit different moves…" He paused and frowned.

After thinking about it, he clapped and said, "You know what. Pack up your stuff and follow me." as he picked up Emily and Kengo, leaving the classroom. The students looked at each other and followed him quickly.

They all arrived at the Battle Arena and Ace waved, "Take out, Tandemaus." Minute threw out a Pokeball, "Come out, my beloved cuties!" Ace's lips twitched and he handed Emily and Kengo to Misty, walking onto the field as he rolled up his sleeves, "Who wants to give it a go?"

The Students were stunned and Dendra jumped up, "MEMEMEMEMEMEME!" Ace waved and dragged Minute with him, "Fine." as he looked at Tandemaus' stats.

Dendra ran over to the other side, throwing out a Tyrogue.

Tyrogue flexed, "Tyro!" Tandemaus hugged each other and Ace rolled his eyes, squatting down, "Listen to me." the Tandemaus turned to look at Ace blankly as he said, "You are 1 and you are 2. When I call 1, you listen and when I call 2, its your turn, okay?"

Tandemaus nodded and Ace stood up, looking at Minute, "Watch carefully." Minute nodded her head.

Ace looked at Dendra, "You go first." Dendra waved a fist, "Alright, Tyrogue! Show them our stuff! Power-Up Punch!" Ace said calmly, "Detach. 1 goes left and 2 goes right." The Tandemaus split up and Dendra looked, "Attack the one on the right!" 

Ace crossed his arms, "2 use Fake Tears!" Tyrogue stopped as 2 burst into tears Ace snapped his fingers, "1 use Super Fang!" Dendra shouted, "Dodge behind you!" Tyrogue jumped to the side as Ace called out "2 use Pound, 1 use Helping Hand."

1 clapped happily as 2 jumped at Tyrogue, punching him.

Tyrogue fell on the ground as Dendra shouted, "Get up and use Bulk Up!" Ace said, "Together use Baby Doll Eyes." Tyrogue flinched as the Tandemaus looked up at him cutely.

Dendra bit her finger, "Low Sweep!" Ace waved, "Connect and Double Hit!" The Tandemaus connected and jumped at Tyrogue, hitting him before swinging the other at him, hitting him again.

Ace nodded, "Continue." The Tandemaus was like a revolving door, swinging and hitting Tyrogue as Dendra shouted, "Endure!" Tyrogue crossed his arms in front of him before Dendra shouted, "It's now! Endeavor!"

Tyrogue shouted and punched both Tandemaus in the face, sending them rolling away. Ace nodded, "Very good, Dendra." Dendra giggled happily, "Hehe~!" Ace clapped his hands, "Disconnect."

The Tandemaus disconnected, but still held hands.

Dendra shouted, "Bulldoze!" Tyrogue jumped up and landed on the ground, shaking the ground slightly. Ace didn't say anything as Dendra pointed, "Now, finish it! Bullet Punch!" Ace waited and finally said, "1 goes right and 2 goes left, dodge it and use Echoed Voice."

They ran to the side and burst out with Echoed Voice at Tyrogue in the middle, making him cry out in pain, falling on the ground. Ace snapped his fingers and the Tandemaus stopped, hugging each other and jumping around.

Dendra wilted, "Aw man… So close!" Ace ignored her and looked at the dumbfounded Minute, "You understand now?" Minute muttered in her normal voice, "Oh wow… That was so cool…" she looked at Ace with a glint in her eye, making Ace's scalp numb.

He sent her back to the class with everyone else as he projected the next battle…
