S5E16: Campsite #3

Thus with a sigh Foxx rubbed his shoulder a bit before leading the way back to the camp, which was partially set up as James seemed to be struggling a bit with the tents while Dawn and Jesse were busy working on dinner. Foxx just smiled both out of Joy at seeing his parents and Dawn getting along but also to hide the pain he had in his shoulder. As for Joy she watched him closely having seen the bite from the pokemon as well as seeing him wince a few times when he touched it area. So with a wave of his left hand Foxx strolled over to Jame to help him finish setting up the tents.

"So son any luck with that pokemon?" asked James as they anchored down the first tent and started to set up the second one.

"Not really I tried to reason with it but it only swatted the collar away." sighed Foxx figuring it was best to leave off the bit about being bitten by the pokemon.

"I see, well just give it time, after all both you and Ash managed to befriend that Pikachu of his all in due time." replied James as they fished setting up the second tent and were getting ready to anchor it down.

"I know but this one seems to be more hurt. I think my first step is going to be to make it a new pokeball and give it the option to choose to want my help." replied Foxx with a sigh as he looked over at dawn before adding, "But that will have to wait, for now my concern is about keeping Dawn happy."

"You know you're just going to meet her family it's not like you two are getting married." teased James nudging Foxx softly in the side before more seriously asking, "You two aren't getting married are you?"

"No were not getting married." sighed Foxx more because his mind was still on trying to help the pokemon then what was really being talked about.

"I mean don't get me wrong I'd love for you two to get married someday but right now you're both too young to be thinking about those kind of things is all." replied James in hopes of cheering up Foxx as he thought he'd been the cause of his sigh.

"It's okay dad, I'm just tired is all and this whole pokemon thing has my mind racing with ways to try and help it but that's not really what I'm good at. I mean after all I've not been the best pokemon trainer after all." sighed Foxx sitting down in front of the tent they'd just finished anchoring down.

"Look, me and your mom can keep Dawn occupied for some time if you need to o work somethings out I completely understand." replied James with a smile as he placed a hand right on Foxx's shoulder only inches from the actual bite mark thus sending a sharp pain throughout his body of which he did his best to hide.

"No, the whole point of this trip was for me to meet Dawn's family all while me and Dawn spent sometime together as just the two of us." sighed Foxx before quickly adding, "Not that your company isn't wanted, it's just that I can't go off alone leaving her with you guys. No I got to face this whole mess one bit at a time."

"Just as long as you don't forget that we're here to help and support you along the way." replied James with a smile.

"I know dad." replied Foxx with a smile as they put the final touches on getting the tents ready making sure that the two girls would be in one tent and they'd be in the second tent. Thus with a smile Foxx walked over to Jesse and Dawn before adding, "Mmm something smells wonderful."

"Jesse must not have done any part of it." teased James from his side as soon as they arrived at the campfire to which Jesse through a empty plate at him.

"Fine then don't eat." huffed Jesse turning her back towards him.

"Oh come on you two stop fighting can't we for once just enjoy a meal not worrying about who did and didn't cook it?" teased Foxx as he took a plate of food from Dawn along with giving her a quick kiss on the cheek along the way.

"Besides, Jesse has slowly been getting better with each meal." added Dawn as she took a plate of her own and joining Foxx on one side of the fire.

"So did she make any of this or not?" teasingly asked James as he poked at the food with a spoon.

"Well, if you really must know no I had no part in making this meal." huffed Jesse taking the plate of food from James before joining Foxx and Dawn leaving James to have to make himself a second plate.

"So it's completely edible." replied James with a smile before making a second plate of food and going over to sit next to Jesse at which point he then added, "You know I love you dear and can't wait until you've learned to cook a proper meal."

"Why you…" started Jesse only to be cut off.

"Mom, dad please enough fighting unless you'd rather just return home to Pallet Town until I'm finished here." scolded Foxx thus causing both Jesse and James to slump down ashamed of themselves for have to be corrected by their son.

"Foxx, you don't have to be so harsh on them." replied Dawn a bit taken back by Foxx's harshness.

"Well, this was supposed to be our happy trip to meet your family and all mine seems to do is keep arguing with each other, so no if they want to fight they can do so back at home and not here were we're trying to have a good time." huffed Foxx as he turned away from all three of them and finished his meal in silence.
