So after leaving Professor Rowan''s lab and informing Gwen of her new job helping him, Foxx, Dawn, Jesse and James all departed Jubilee City in hopes of reaching Twinleaf Town by nightfall if not first thing in the morning. Now as they journeyed down the road Foxx held out the damaged and scuffed pokeball examining it and wondering what pokemon it could be and if he should wait until after meeting Dawn's family for it.
"Wow I don't think I've ever seen a pokeball in that bad of condition before." called James in hopes of breaking the awkward silence that was starting to for as no one was really talking.
"I have only once and it required a whole new pokeball being created which seems like I might just have to do for this fella." confessed Foxx with a sigh before starting to put the pokeball back in his bag.
"What pokemon is inside?" asked Jesse wanting to be a part of the conversation as well.
"Not sure, Professor Rowan just asked me to try and help it to trust humans again." sighed Foxx before adjusting his bag strap and pressing forward.
"He seems a bit nervous if you ask me, almost as if he doesn't think he has any chance at helping that pokemon." sighed James as he watched Foxx take the lead with a somber kind of stance.
"It could be all of the added responsibility of this new pokemon, the G.S. Ball and meeting Dawn's family for the first time." added Jesse.
"You do know he can still hear you two right?" asked Dawn as she rushed to catch up to Foxx in hopes of cheering him up some and when she reached his side she asked, "Do you want to set up camp and while me and Jesse make dinner, James can get the tents ready while you slip into the woods with Joy and meet your newest member of your team?"
"I'm not sure if it's safe to let it out now or if I should wait until after I've met your family and continued on my way." sighed Foxx looking at the ground as he walked.
"Well, I think it wouldn't hurt to try to get to know it and at least once you know what pokemon it is you can make a comfortable pokeball just for it so it can start to trust you a little more." confessed Dawn with a smile that Foxx could help but warm up to.
"Yes, but you forget I currently haven't finished making and fitting the rest of my pokemon with telepathic linked collars like Joy and eevee have." sighed Foxx, "As for using one of them as an interpreter well, Joy tends to get her own ideas about things and eevee has been a little distracted recently."
"Well, I still think it would help to start with just the basics. You have to have at least one extra communicator that is almost ready for use." teased Dawn as she found a nice open clearing for them to set up camp.
Thus with a sigh Foxx slipped away into the woods and found small clear spot for him to attempt to speak with or at least figure out what pokemon was in the ball. So after sitting down he set the ball before him and pulled out his tablet. Now upon connecting the ball he realized that he'd never changed the registration of the ball over to himself yet all it said for the trainer's name was N. Thus Foxx just shrugged his shoulders before registering it to himself.
Foxx then sighed before typing in the command that forced the ball open and to his surprise there was an angry purple and yellow kitten like pokemon in front of him just glaring at him with great hatred. Foxx held out a collar before adding, "If you let me put this on you I can better communicate with you."
"Purrrr!" huffed the pokemon as he turned his head to one side not wanting to make any eye contact.
"I'm not your last owner or any of them I only want to help and I cant do that without this." replied Foxx yet the pokemon refused to make eye contact.
"Purrrr, purr lion purr!" snapped the pokemon swatting the collar right out of Foxx' hand.
"I mean it I only wish to help you and to do I need to get to know you and I can only do that with the help of that collar." sighed Foxx pointing towards where the collar had landed.
"Purrlion!" yelled the pokemon before tackling Foxx right in the chest and biting down hard on his shoulder.
"VUL, VULPIX!" came the scream of Joy as she blasted the pokemon with ember before tackling it off of Foxx and pinning it to the ground showing her teeth and adding, "Vul, vul, pix vul."
"Purr purr lion purr purr." huffed the pokemon turning it's head to one side in anger.
"Vul, vul," replied Joy as she glared at the pokemon.
Meanwhile Foxx got to his feet before picking up the pokeball and holding it out. He then tapped the button on his tablet labeled recall. With a beep a red light beam shot from the pokeball and struck the pokemon which glowed red before being returned to inside of the pokeball which shook angrily in his hand. As for Joy she just turned to look at him with head tilted to one side in confusion as she totally had it under control.
"I guess that's enough exposure for now. I best lock this until we get more time and are in a safe area for us to try this again." sighed Foxx as he returned his tablet as well as the pokeball back into his bag before walking over to where the collar was and bending over to pick it up. He then stood up and looked at her with a smile while hiding the pain in his shoulder and adding, "Let's go get something to eat seeing as dinner should be done soon."
