S4E8: Time To Talk

"Joy I have a feeling why you're mad and I understand, but you're wrong." mentally sighed Foxx as he slowly sat on the ground and crossed his legs beginning their mental conversation.

"Me wrong?" questioned Joy with her back still towards him and letting out a puff of smoke.

"Yes, because just like when Dawn traveled with us you feared that I'd care more about her then you when in truth I love her just as much as you but it's a different kind of love." explained Foxx, "We've talked about this already that I can't love you with the same love as which I love Dawn, but that will never take away my love for you."

"What about your love for Dawn?" asked Joy finally turning to face him only to shoot him a glare that almost scared him.

"What about it?" asked Foxx, "I miss her and part of me wishes I had just went with her and Ash, but when were done here I plan to head that way and search for her."

"What of her?" asked Joy gesturing towards the direction of which they'd come and of where Silvia was waiting for them.

"Silvia? She's use a friend if she's even that? To be honest I've barely got a chance to get to know her, and before you get any ideas know this it wasn't my idea for her to come along on these stupid island challenges."

"Then send her away!" huffed Joy.

"You know you can't get mad at everyone who tries to flirt with me, whether you think they are trying to still my love from you or Dawn." sighed Foxx as he held out his arms for her to climb into his lap. "I really like Dawn and would never let someone just push her out of my heart just because she bated her eyes at me, and yes I've seen Silvia's flirting and have chosen to ignore them because I love Dawn. There will always be girls who will wish to flirt with me."

"Why? Can't they see that you're already someone else's?" asked a puzzled Joy.

"It's not that simple Joy." replied Foxx with a smile. "Humans aren't like Pokémon we don't get registered with a trainer code upon being caught. We have symbols of showing off that we are spoken for but most of those don't come until we are married."

"Then get married?" huffed Joy as she climbed into Foxx's lap.

"Well, for starters we're both just children. We can't get married for another eight years." explained Foxx with a smile, "Besides we both really don't know that much about each their other then what we talked about at Christmas."

"I see," sighed Joy as she sadly laid down in his lap before asking. "Does this mean you might find someone else later on down the road?"

"There is always a possibility of me and Dawn going our separate ways but if we do it doesn't mean we wouldn't still be friends. Thus you'd still be able to be her friend after all me and Pikachu are still friends." explained Foxx with a smile before quickly adding, "Though you're my best friend, while as of right now I'm not looking for anyone to replace or fill in for Dawn."

"I see." replied Joy with a smile before snuggling into his lap and adding, "I've really missed you holding me."

"As have I missed getting to hold you." replied Foxx as he began to pet her fur. "And if you want once we get these stupid challenges over with and get back to Professor Ivy's Island we can try to get a hold of Dawn if you want."

"That would be nice, but how will she know what I'm saying without her wearing the other part of the telepathy link thingy?" asked Joy a bit confused.

"Well, you tell me and I will be able to relay the message to her." explained Foxx with a smile, "That is unless there is some kind of secret you to have been keeping from me?"

"Well, there was something I really have been wanting to ask her but it can wait until it can be just the two of us." replied Joy with a suspicious smile as she rolled onto her back and looked up at him.

"So does this mean you're not going to hide out in your pokeball for the rest of the trip?" asked Foxx before giving her belly a little rub.

"I guess I can hang out with you humans and maybe even catch a little sun while we travel between islands." replied Joy as she stretched out her legs and yawned.

"Well, we've been using the Gyarados I won in battle to travel from island to island since it would cost too much to take a boat each time. So if you want you can go into your Pokeball until we get to the next island." explained Foxx.

"I can wait until we get ready to leave." yawned Joy as she really started to get comfortable and was about to drift off to sleep.

"I'm ready to go now and really only waited because I wanted to get this chance to talk with you before we continued because I want you to be a part of the final three parts of this whole stupid thing." confessed Foxx with a grin.

"Oh, well you're the one who has to unlock my pokeball so I can return to it." teased Joy as she rolled off of his lap and sat a few feet in front of him waiting for him.

"Okay here we go." replied Foxx as he disconnected her ball from his tablet and standing to his feet before recalling her into her pokeball.

Foxx then smiled as he turned to he'd back towards the beach where Silvia was standing waiting for him. Then with one more glance down at her pokeball Foxx made sure to secure it in his bag before sending out Gyarados and continuing along on their journey.
