My Old Pokémon

Whitney looked at him and spoke. "You wanna start you journey over again".

Haru looked at her and spoke. "Yeah, I wanna redo it again".

Whitney looked at and spoke. "Are you sure, after you lost you said you don't want anything to do with Pokémon".

Haru just sighed and looked at her. "Listen I changed, I have years to reflect, plus don't you have the Pokémon I gce you".

She just looked at him and spoke. "I do but I don't think he wants to be your Pokémon anymore".

Haru just sighed as he looked at her. "Really".

Whitney looked at Haru, her expression softening. "Yeah... He's been a bit distant. I think he was upset with you for releasing him." She paused, her eyes flickering with a mixture of concern and uncertainty. "I don't know if he's ready to trust you again."

Haru leaned back against the chair, staring out the window. The sunlight filtered through the blinds, casting a warm glow across the room. "I get it," he said quietly. "I messed up. I didn't understand back then. But I can't just walk away from this... from them."

He looked back at Whitney, his gaze steady. "I need to do this. For myself, and for them."

Whitney paused for a moment, considering his words. "I see... You're really serious about this, huh?"

Haru nodded. "I need to make it right. And if I can get a second chance with my Pokémon, then I'll take it." He stood up, his expression determined. "I don't want to regret anything again."

Whitney studied him for a moment, before giving a small, reluctant smile. "Well, if you're really set on it... then I guess I can't stop you."

She turned to the side, walking over to the shelf where a Pokéball rested. "You want your first Pokémon back, huh?" she asked, her voice a little softer now.

Haru didn't reply immediately, but his heart raced a little. This was it. His second chance.

Whitney picked up the Pokéball and held it out to him. "Here. But remember, this isn't just about getting your Pokémon back. You need to show him that you've changed. That's the only way he'll come back to you."

Haru took the Pokéball in his hand, feeling the familiar weight of it. The memories of his previous life—of Zekrom, of the battles they fought together—flashed in his mind. He closed his eyes for a moment, letting those memories wash over him. He had been so focused on trying to reclaim his past that he had forgotten the bond that was supposed to come first.

"I'll make it right," Haru said, his voice steady.

Whitney gave him a nod. "I hope you do. But remember, it's not just about being a trainer. It's about being a partner."

With that, she turned and left the room, leaving Haru to stand there, holding the Pokéball. His journey was beginning again.

Haru let out his Pokeball, as he sent out the Pokémon as then the Pokémon came out as he saw, it was a staraptor.

He looked at his old firend. "Hey buddy long time no, Ah".

The staraptor attacked him making fall to the floor, it was clear that he was not getting his starter Pokémon back, it was clear that the Pokémon didn't want to be his anymore.

Haru lay on the floor, stunned by the sudden attack from his former Pokémon. He winced, rubbing his chest where the Staraptor had struck him. The bird hovered in the air above him, its sharp eyes glaring down at him with a fierce intensity.

"Ah... so that's how it is, huh?" Haru muttered, slowly getting to his feet, his muscles aching from the unexpected assault.

The Staraptor cawed angrily, flapping its wings with a menacing posture, as if to say, I'm not yours anymore.

Haru sighed, feeling the weight of the situation pressing on him. He had hoped, foolishly, that he could just pick up where they left off, but it was clear now that things were different. He had failed his Pokémon once, and it was unforgivable. It hurt more than he expected to see the anger in Staraptor's eyes—the betrayal.

He stood tall, brushing the dirt from his clothes, and faced the bird. "I get it," Haru said quietly, his voice tinged with both regret and understanding. "I don't deserve your trust... not yet."

The Staraptor's stance softened, but it didn't approach him. Instead, it tilted its head, as if trying to judge him.

Haru didn't step forward. Instead, he took a deep breath, closing his eyes for a moment. "But I won't give up. I'll show you, Staraptor. Not just for me—but for us both." He glanced up at the bird with a calm but determined expression. "If you'll let me, we can start fresh."

The Staraptor stared at him for a long while, its eyes narrowing as it considered his words. Haru knew this was far from over. This wasn't a battle he could win with just words or old memories. But if there was any hope, it would be earned, not given.

Finally, the Staraptor gave a soft caw, almost as if acknowledging his resolve. It was still wary, but it didn't attack again.

Haru smiled slightly. "I'll prove it to you."

He reached into his bag and pulled out a berry, holding it out toward the Staraptor. "Here, I know you probably don't trust me yet, but you're still my partner. And I want to make things right, no matter how long it takes."

The bird cautiously flew closer, its eyes still watching Haru with a mix of wariness and curiosity. It eyed the berry for a moment before swooping down to snatch it from his hand, taking it into its beak.

Haru took a step back, giving the Pokémon space. It wasn't much of a start, but it was something. He had to rebuild this bond from the ground up. And this time, he wouldn't make the same mistakes.

"I won't give up on you," Haru said softly, watching the Staraptor as it pecked at the berry. "I promise."

"I won't give up on you," Haru said softly, watching the Staraptor as it pecked at the berry. "I promise."

Whitney then came in, as the staraptor went to her side. "Told he doesn't like, not after what you did by letting him go".

Haru got and looked at her. "But I want to earn his trust".

Whitney then looked at him. "And how will you do it".

Heru looked at her and spoke. "Win the Johto league"

Whitney then looked at him. "Let me gess do it again, get a new starter and everything, I sure the professor has new trio of starters to pick from".

Haru just looked at her. "We didn't get our original starter from him did we".

Whitney raised an eyebrow, a slight smirk on her face as she crossed her arms. "You've got that right. We didn't get our starters from the professor. And I'm sure you remember why. You and I didn't follow the typical route. We forged our own paths." She paused, her expression turning more serious. "You think this time will be different?"

Haru turned his gaze to the floor for a moment, gathering his thoughts. "This time... I understand. I didn't give my Pokémon the respect they deserved. I didn't treat them like partners. And that's something I want to change. I owe them better."

Whitney's gaze softened slightly, but she didn't give up her skeptical stance. "And you think a League Championship will make up for that?"

Haru's eyes met hers, determination in them. "I'll prove it. I won't run away from my mistakes this time. I won't abandon my Pokémon. I'll win—with them, not just for myself."

Whitney considered his words for a moment before nodding. "Alright, Haru. I get it. But remember, this journey is about more than just winning badges and titles. It's about growing together with your Pokémon. That's the real challenge."

Haru nodded. "I know. And I'm ready for it."

Whitney walked over to the Staraptor, who had returned to her side, its eyes still sharp and guarded. "You're not going to win him back with just words, though. It's actions that matter. If you want to be a better trainer, you have to prove it every day."

Haru gave a small smile. "Then I'll prove it, day by day."

Whitney sighed, her playful demeanor returning. "Guess we'll see if you're up for it. And for what it's worth, I hope you are. I don't like seeing Pokémon hurt, and I don't like seeing you struggle either."

The Staraptor cawed softly, as if acknowledging Whitney's words, before it took off and flew out of the room, likely to stretch its wings.

Haru watched it go, his resolve firming up. "I'll earn it. I'll earn his trust, and every Pokémon I meet on the way."

Whitney raised an eyebrow, looking at him closely. "You've got a long way to go, but I'll give you one thing—you've got heart. Don't let that fade."

Haru stood up straighter, determination burning in his eyes. "I won't. Not this time."

Whitney stepped toward the door, glancing back one last time. "Well, then... I guess you'd better start with the basics. You should head to Professor Elm's lab. I'm sure he's got new starters for you. Maybe something that'll make things right."

Haru nodded, his mind already set on the path ahead. "Thanks, Whitney. And I'll keep trying."

Whitney smiled a little before walking out, leaving Haru standing in the room, his thoughts swirling with the weight of his decision.

It was clear now. This journey wouldn't be easy, but Haru was ready to face it. To earn back the trust he had lost, starting with the League—and everything else after that.

Haru went back to his room, he packed his bag, as he looked at Whitney. "Did you ever used Staraptor".

Whitney looked at him and spoke. "Yeah I did, when ever a trainer came with 5 to 7 badge, I had to use my strongest team after all".

Haru nodded thoughtfully as he finished packing his bag. He couldn't help but feel a pang of regret for how things had ended with his Staraptor. It wasn't just about the Pokémon; it was about the trust, the bond, and the responsibilities he had let slip away.

"That makes sense," Haru said, his voice low. "I just... I used to have such a strong bond with him. I guess I didn't appreciate it enough."

Whitney gave him a soft smile, understanding the weight of his words. "It's easy to take things for granted, especially when you're young and trying to prove yourself. But sometimes, you need to lose something to realize how much it meant."

Haru nodded, his eyes fixed on his packed bag. "Yeah, I guess I learned that the hard way."

Whitney's expression softened as she walked over to him, placing a comforting hand on his shoulder. "You're not alone in this, Haru. We all make mistakes. The important thing is to learn from them and do better."

Haru gave a small nod, grateful for her support. "Thanks, Whitney. I appreciate it."

She gave his shoulder a reassuring squeeze before stepping back. "You're going to be a great trainer, Haru. Just stay focused on your journey and remember why you started."

With a determined look in his eyes, Haru shouldered his bag and smiled. "Yeah, I will. I'm not giving up on this journey, not this time."

Whitney's smile widened. "That's the spirit. Now, go get yourself a new starter. Start fresh. You've got this."

With that, Haru left his room and headed out of Whitney's house, a new sense of determination in his step. He was ready to face the challenges ahead, to rebuild his trust with his Pokémon, and to prove to himself that he was capable of becoming the best Pokémon Trainer he could be. The road to the Johto League awaited, and he was ready to embark on it anew.
