Pokémon : A Rough Start In Kanto

Aussie dropped into the Pokémon world without so much as a ‘how do you do’ into the body of some orphan kid. Let’s see how Gideon tries to pull a life together in a world with more danger and less friendly people than the anime ever showcased. I don’t own Pokémon or the cover picture

Cramped

-omniscient pov-

In a poorly lit, sparsely decorated room sat 3 men at a large wooden desk, one man with face hidden in the shadow of the dark room sat alone on one side dressed in what appears to be a finely tailored black suit with one leg casually placed over the other swinging casually.

At his left side lazily laid a grey dog pokemon with a long black grizzled mane of fur running down its back running and up its tail, black sharp eyebrows, two black triangle marks of fur under its eyes that resembled teeth and black fur running up its paws

And to his left laid equally as lazily another dog type Pokémon with the majority of its body covered in black fur, with the only exceptions being the brown covering its shout and belly….but what truely stood out was the big, seemingly ram like horns protruding out of its skull and the bone like carapace covering its spine….

One of the two men sitting across from this shadowed figure and his two intimidating dog Pokémon, was none other than the sleazy grease ball, who had his poochyena attack Gideon that fateful day

The other was a man with pale blue hair, nondescript face with a few scars across his forehead, dressed in a dark hoodie and jeans with a picture of a mightyena covering his back..

The two men sitting across from the man and his two seemingly calm Pokémon were sweating and staying perfectly still, the room was in a lull until the well dressed man spoke.

"Do you have ANY idea just how much this little fuck up has cost "darkness"….the cash, drugs and pokeballs taken were one thing, but the TMs and those Pokémon…..they were nearly priceless!!!"

"That machop we had been starving and beating for weeks to break his spirit before we sold him off to the black market….he was one of the progeny of the Elite Fours Machamp…."

"Those TMs were almost impossible to get with the league's iron grip like control over the market, but we managed to worm our way into silph co to get a shipping schedule so we could rob that dam boat…do you know how many members died in that raid?….those TMs were meant to be a way to elevate our status!!!"

"And worst of all was you pathetic fucks loosing that fucking Ferroseed!!…it was supposed to be a favour for a very influential politician who couldn't acquire it legally for political reasons, it was supposed to be a gift for his niece who was starting her journey next year, and he wanted her to make an impact…it was our ticket into the big leagues….but now….ITS ALL GONE!!"

The two men on the other side of the table were borderline whimpering because they knew the "boss" doesn't forgive mistakes…and his punishments were more often then not, death…

The grease ball was the first one to respond

"S-sir….we didn't think the drop house was going to be attacked, it's never been attacked before, not to mention we had a full mightyena pack guarding the goods 24/7…"

The boss said nothing for a second before slowly speaking..

"So you're excuse is your incompetent?....did you at least find out who hit the place?"

The 2nd man was the one to speak this time

"Sir, we suspect it was "the candyman" from the toxic arboks….all the evidence we have found points his direction…"

"Well, why haven't you gone and taken our stuff back!?"

"We were worried that it might cause a war sir, we want-"

"ARE YOU FUCKING MORONS!? THEY HIT US FIRST, WE ARE ALREADY AT WAR!!, YOU HAVE A WEEK TO GET ME THOSE POKÉMON AND THOSE TMs BACK BEFORE I FEED YOU BOTH TO MY POKÉMON!!! NOW LEAVE!!"

Without any more incentive needed, the two rushed out of the room ready to reignite another brutal and bloody gang war….

The gravity training was a hit.

At first it was tough for Ferroseed to control the gravity in any way, shape or form, she just made an area of her choosing that had vastly increased gravity….and it was a little too much at first…she learned how to tone it down a little until my mons are strong enough to take more….after a little bit of practice she got the hang of it, and I'm sure she will be be able to put down more G's as she gets more used to it as well…

Machop spent the first few training sessions with eyes full of envy as he watched meowth and slowpoke struggle every second of training under intense gravity, but he was recovering surprisingly fast so it won't be long before he's struggling along side the two…

It's been 3 days since I discovered Ferroseed had gravity and the improvement in meowth and slowpoke has been visually apparent…both slowpoke and meowth have been going through small changes… mainly growing a little taller, not much, but I noticed it…and their frames were filling out more

Slowpokes legs and back were widening slightly and meowths cord like muscles, while not bulking up massively, we're filling out enough to be seen through his fur..

And this is only a few days in….

Meowth and slowpoke barely lasted a few minutes at first without any weights, but only a few days into training they can last more than 15 minutes before needing a heal pulse top up..

I haven't started training Ferroseed yet except for having her mess around with gravity…I've tested it and it's possibly for her to be affected by her own gravity so that was a bonus..

I got so excited the first 2 days I forgot all about my other loot, TMs included, but I eventually got around to it and….those TMs were the real deal….like legit real deal…

There was x2 flamethrowers which was pretty dope thinking I could find Pokémon to teach them to later….until I realised…I already had 2 Pokémon who could learn them..

Machop and slowpoke could both learn flamethrower….

But I want going to give them those TMs yet, not because it would slow down their training or anything practical like that…no, it was because slowpoke was a goofball who I knew for a fact would go around lighting things on fire for the hell of it…and machop will get his TMs when his training starts, i don't know if it would effect his recovery or not and I didn't want to risk it…

There was one thunderbolt TM which almost instantly went into meowth, who enjoyed playing around with his new electricity very much….nothing dangerous, and he made sure he was far enough away from me that it wouldn't be able to hurt me…but he made his enjoyment known through purrs and facial expressions…and the odd crispy Rattata

There was x3 protects which while usually a very easy and cheap TM to buy from the league, but was still incredibly helpful for the time being…slowpoke and meowth both got a copy, the third is to be decided later, but I was leaning toward machop..

There was 1 dark pulse TM that also went to meowth.

A perfect pair in sunny day and solar beam combo pair of TMs that I decided would go to Ferroseed when she was ready to train..

There were actually only 12 TMs not 15 like i had guessed in the dark…but that was ok

Because the second rarest TM I found actually had 2 copies as well and my god were they some solid TMs…

There was 2 copies of swords dance…that's right swords dance….2 COPIES!!

I asked a few random trainers before about swords dance and possibly the TMs for em, they said the TM was nearly impossible to get for your average trainer and ways to teach a Pokémon how to use it were closely guarded secrets of families who had the knowledge..

And now I had two copies!!

Not sure who to load them onto but that can wait awhile I guess…

Now onto the last and rarest TM that honestly shouldn't have been there that night even with all the "contacts" darkness would have in the league…This particular TM is highly guarded by the the league…

It was the TM for…Teleport….

I asked about it once and was told that the only way to get your hands on a TM like this is to be part of a family that has access to it, or be a big enough deal to the league to get permission to buy it…

The price tag on teleport IF you are given permission to buy it is…. roughly 700k, an exorbitant amount of money..

I thought why not just go and get an abra? It's only move would be teleport right?

Turns out the abra line is insanely rare, so it's not a viable option…and even if they somehow capture an abra, you would have to have it convinced to stay or it could just teleport away if it didn't like you…

But that TM went straight into slowpoke, who upon being released after learning it instantly teleported himself into the unfinished elevator shaft in our home building…where he somehow got stuck, and we spent a few good hours trying to find him….he could have just teleported out but he seemed to forget that..

He's only been playing around with it in open fields ever since

It's not as all powerful as it sounds, so far slowpoke can only teleport a few kilometres at most…the distance of the teleport depends on the strength of the Pokémon…so it's a work in progress at the moment..

I also moved the rest of my loot to one of the air vents of a nearby abandoned building near my home after that diglet dream..

But it was currently the 3rd day after gravity became part of our everyday life, I was sitting under a tree near the stream watching slowpoke and meowth struggle and train under immense strain with machop to my side and Ferroseed in my lap..

Turns out she can loosen up her spikes around her body so they felt more like rubber if she felt like it, which she did at the moment, hence in my lap…

I was currently pondering my next trip into the city which was going to have to be much sooner than I hoped for.

With the increase in training intensity my mons food intake increased to match it…with machop and Ferroseed here now as well, food would last maybe another 3 days if we stretched it…which I won't be doing…so I'll have to make a run into the city tomorrow…

But that brings up the question of space as well…the one room is starting to get cramped with all of us in there, so I'm going to have to expand pretty soon…not to mention I'm definitely going to need more fridges and shelf space for more food…

When machop and Ferroseed start training, the food intake is going to be bananas, which means more trips for food….

I think I'm going to have to get a car…or steal one I can park in the wild to transport stuff…as much as I love my pull cart, it's starting to fall behind my needs and slowpoke won't be a reliable source of transportation in the near future…

But I'll figure out all that as I go, tomorrow will have to be a trip to the city to pick up some supplies and see if I can nab something useful
