Louie got turned into a riolu with no memories of who he was. thankfully a vibrant young zorua named Sumia finds him and decides to help him. Follow Louie as he discovers the hardships of being a pokemon and learning what they are. I hope that wasn't too cheesy of a synopsis. And if it was, well. can tdo much about it. This is that first book I've published/made so I'd gladly take some criticism and ways to improve my writing. this is a hobby of mine that I wanted to get more into, and I've been coming up with more and more of this story for nearly 2 years now. unfortunately, I won't have a solid upload schedule due to personal matters, but I will update it when I get to it. if you've read this far, thank you! and if you decide to read, I hope you enjoy!

Entry 1: New World, New Me

A gentle breeze stirred me from my sleep, pricking my nose with the smell of the sea. I didn't sleep all that well, to say the least. I woke up feeling groggy, I had a headache, my mouth was dry as a desert, and I felt... wrong. That's the best way to put it. I didn't feel right. Pushing those thoughts aside, I sat up and was greeted by the bright shining sun. Shining directly into my eyes.

"God, that's bright!" I shouted, bringing my arms up to shield my eyes. While waiting for my eyes to adjust to the light, a thought came to me. Why was I asleep outside? Better yet, where the hell am I?

I took a second to take in my surroundings. I didn't appear to be anywhere near civilization. Lying ahead of me was a vast ocean, seeming to spread onward forever. Lying atop the ocean was my adversary, the sun, creating a vibrant array of colors as it slowly sunk below the ocean. I sat on white sandy beach that wrapped around the ocean ahead. behind the beach was a darkening forest, with massive trees. these trees had to have been hundreds of feet tall. occasionally, a leaf would drop from the trees and ride the wind to the vegetation below.

In hindsight, what surrounded me was breathtakingly beautiful. However, at the time there was something else on my mind. I had absolutely no idea where I was. I tried racking my memory in hopes of finding some clue as to why I was there, but I found nothing. nothing at all. I didn't even know who I was. no name, no memories, there was nothing there, I was wiped of everything that I once was. I was nobody.

"What the hell is going on?" I muttered with a shaky voice. I could feel tears start swelling in my eyes. I didn't know what to do. What could I do? I was to lost in my own thoughts to hear the soft shuffling of sand coming from behind me, and before I could dwell on this any longer, I heard a voice coming from my right.

"Hey, you okay?" asked a rough feminine voice next to me. startled by the sudden voice, i looked over to see who was speaking. staring at me was a gray fox. This fox looked massive, coming eye to eye with me. I mean, I was sitting down, but still, that's huge! The fox also had a dark fluffy scarf of fur, with a necklace sitting around it's neck. she had various red markings on her, from a red mini-afro down to red mittens around it's paws. It's left ear also had a large portion of it missing, which i assumed to be a scar. I simply stared at the fox, wondering why it looked like this. what happened next nearly made me pass out. The fox opened it's mouth and spoke.

"So is that a yes... or no.... or...?" asked the fox impatiently.

"You're a talking fox!" I blurted out. She looked at me like I was stupid.

"Uhh... yeah? And you're a talking dog?" she replied.

"What? no I'm not!" I countered a bit aggressively. She wasn't buying it.

"Look! I'm a..." I tried showing her my hands, something to prove I wasn't a dog.

"I-I'm a..." I didn't have normal skin covered hands. They were paws. Covered in blue fur.

"Wha-what the hell am I?" I said, stumbling over my words. The fox stared at me worried. I brought up the courage to look at the rest of my body. She was right. I don't know how I hadn't noticed this before, but I had a snout, a tail, you name it. I looked like a dog! No, I was a dog. But not a normal dog. First I was black and blue. That was the most appearant. Second, I didn't look like I had the normal structure of a dog. It looked more like I was supposed to walk on 2 legs, as opposed to 4. My theory was further proved when I noticed I had thumbs on my hands, which a dog definitely shouldn't have. Third, I had these weird dangling skin sacks on either side of my head. They weren't my ears, those were on top of my head, which I didn't like. They were really sensitive though, but I dropped that subject as soon as the shock wore off.

"Wh-what the hell is happening?" I asked, voice quivering with every word.

That's when I broke. I couldn't handle what was happening to me. I didn't know what to do. I didn't know what I COULD do. So I sat there. I buried my face in my arms and started crying, each tear staining the fur on my face.

I sat there, sobbing silently, hoping this was all just a dream. Hoping I would wake up from this nightmare.

I sat like that for roughly five minutes before I felt a paw softly touch my back.

"Hey..." started the fox. "I can see that whatever your going through is eating ya up. Hehe..." she chuckled awkwardly. "I uhh...I guess that's pretty obvious though. But, I wanna tell ya that whatever it is that your going through, you'll be alright. I can promise ya that, 'kay?"

I sniffled and wiped my nos-err.. snout and looked up at her. She was sitting next to me, confidence beaming in her eyes as she told me this.

"See? Startin' to look better already!" She happily stated. "Now, I can't really help ya out if ya don't tell me what's goin on. I know it might pain ya, but ya gotta tell me."

I let out a deep sigh. She was right. I didn't even know who she was, but at that moment, she was the only one that might be able to help me. So I told her everything. From waking up, to meeting her. I finished it off with, "And the worst part? I have no memory. Hell, I can't even remember my own name!"

I crossed my arms on my legs and layed my head on them, watching the sunset. It felt good to be able to get that off my chest.

"Wow, that's a real doosy, huh?" Spoke the fox, joining me in watching the sunset. We both sat there, watching as the sun crept below the sea.

"Beautiful, ain't it?" Said the fox, breaking the silence. "I come here just 'bout everyday to watch this. A nice and relaxin' way to end the day, ya know?" She paused for a moment. "I've never been to big on this fate business. But I can't help but feel like it had something to do with me finding you here today. I mean, what are the odds that I find ya here, on the beach I go to nearly everyday. Like I said, I'll help ya get through this. I dunno how, but I will."

I glanced towards her. She was still watching the sunset, a look of determination on her face. I couldn't help but give a small smile.

"Thank you." I weakly said.

She looked at me and smiled even wider.

"Oh come on, I can't just leave someone in need out here. Hehehe."

"Still, thank you." A moment passed before I spoke again. "So, have you figured out something that could help my current, em, situation?"

She looked at me a bit guiltily. "Yeah... I dont think I'm going to able to help ya all that much." Before I could say anything, she spoke again, looking more happy, "But I know who can! Grams & Pa are like the smartest people I know! So long as they aren't fighting... and Doc'll definitely know how to get your memory back! I can take ya to em back at my village, if ya want. I mean, it's your choice, but it'll be night time here pretty soon."

I feel like I didn't have much of a choice. Not that I'm complaining. It sure beats sleeping out here. Alone.

"I'll go with you. I don't really wanna freeze out here." I told her.

"Oh thank Arceus! I dunno if I could live with myself if I left you here!" she said, relieved.

I let out a small laugh.

"Hey, I don't think I got your name." I told her.

"Ah! You're right! Sorry. The name's Sumia, nice ta meetcha!" She said, "And you arrrreeee... not gonna remember your name, huh?"

I sighed. Saddened a bit by the reminder that i have no memory "Unfortunately not. No."

"Hey, it's all good!" She quickly told me. "We can give ya a name."

"I dunno if I can come up with one," I told her, "there's just too much, or not enough i guess, on my mind right now."

"It's all good! I can give ya a name." She confidently said to me.

"Now let's see..." she started thinking aloud. "You're a riolu. Right? Yeah, probably." I swear I could see a little bit of steam billowing out of her ears. "Riolu... riolu... Rio? Nah. Riolu... Riolu. Lu. I got it! I'll name ya Louie!" She concluded excitedly.

"Louie, huh?" I said. Admittedly, I wasn't a massive fan of the name. But I didn't wanna tell her that. She looked way too excited, and I didn't wanna ruin that. "I like it."

She beamed back at me." Well, Louie. It's nice to meetcha!"

"It's a pleasure to meet you too, Sumia." I said, smiling back at her.

I didn't really know what was going to happen to me. But I had a feeling I was going to be alright.
