It was still 7 in the morning, but a beautiful girl with golden blonde hair was already at work opening a coffee shop she had built with her own efforts. She built this shop by collecting her money little by little since she was still in school.
She was Aubrey Green, a twenty-four-year-old girl who liked being alone, smiling a little, and talking a little. However, her hand is always light to help anyone who needs her help. Aubrey employs two young women to serve customers who want to drink coffee and snack on bread in her shop. Aubrey herself is now working as a lecturer at a leading university in the city.
Ting …
A sign of a visitor coming to her shop. Two of her employees have not arrived, Christin and Liza. As a result, it was Aubrey who had to serve. Luckily the shop was clean and tidy. All the chairs have returned to their original place.
A man with silver hair, tall, and very handsome, but unfortunately he looked a little stupid, walked into the cashier where Aubrey was standing.
"Good morning, what would you like to order?" Aubrey greeted in a friendly and gentle manner.
"I-I want to order coffee… cappuccino and any bread 2 pieces. Is that possible?" The man lowered his face more and his fingers scratched the nape of his neck and a forced smile.
"Yes, please wait a moment, I will prepare it for you." Aubrey still answered him gently. This man smiled faintly but his eyes did not look at Aubrey. Aubrey smiled lightly so as not to be called bitchy and fierce.
The man with silver hair sat on the special take-away chair silently. After a while, the order was ready.
"Master, the order is ready." Aubrey wrapped it neatly and put it in a paper bag. "Twenty dollars in all," Aubrey said. The man took out a few bills from his wallet and gave them to Aubrey.
"Keep the change." The man left the coffee shop in a hurry. Leaving Aubrey dumbfounded with change in hand.
"Oh, this morning I received a strange guest. Good luck." Aubrey chuckled and continued to check the books again before the two employees were about to arrive.
"Ma'am lecturer, sorry we are late. The roads were jammed so we were stuck in them." Christian and Liza came together and immediately caused a stir.
"Shhh, if you're here, don't call me Miss Lecturer. I don't want my job to have anything to do with the shop." Aubrey said with narrowed eyes.
"Oops, forgive us." The two young women were giggling.
"Alright, you guys continue to work. I want to go straight to campus. There is a morning teaching course. Good job, okay?" Aubrey cheered her two employees on and was greeted with cheerful smiles from them. The young lecturer took her jacket and put it on then took her handbag and left her coffee shop, The Aubrey's.
It's very cold outside, winter has arrived. And, according to the weather forecast, this year's winter will be longer than in previous years. Aubrey zipped up his jacket and jogged down the street to the nearest bus stop.
It didn't take long, the bus that was waiting for me arrived. Aubrey immediately put a coin near the driver and looked for an available seat. Luckily, there were only a few people on the bus so Aubrey could choose to sit anywhere. Her favorite is in the back row of seats. Aubrey took the earphones out of her bag and plugged them into the small hole on her cell phone specifically for cables. And, finally the song Ed Sheeran also accompanies the journey.
"Good morning, Miss Aubrey." All the students who passed her greeted her respectfully and smiled. Aubrey is the youngest lecturer on campus. She graduated school earlier and college was shorter than her friends because of her intelligence. But unfortunately, Aubrey did not have many friends. She never even had a boyfriend. For her, the main thing is going to school and becoming a lecturer according to her dreams.
"Morning Aubrey, how are you today?" Tom, one of the lecturers, approached Aubrey's desk and greeted her by standing by her side.
"Morning Tom, I'm fine, thanks. You too right?" Without needing to see who greeted her, Aubrey already knew who else was the first person to always greet her in the lecturer's room.
"You are so beautiful today." Tom is a true devotee of Aubrey. A male lecturer who is famous for being a playboy and lucky to be blessed with a handsome face and from a wealthy family. He had come to her house once and Chesa saw him. Her half-sister was also captivated and so they dated even though it only lasted a few months.
"Thanks again, Tom. But sorry, I have to prepare materials for teaching this morning." Aubrey looked at Tom pitifully, asking to be left alone for a moment.
"Okay okay. We'll have lunch together later. I'll go to my desk first." Tom winked mischievously one eye at Aubrey and left a trail with a smile. Aubrey shook her head.
It's already 9 in the morning. Aubrey's teaching class had already started. Aubrey teaches economics to early-semester students. All the male students liked their lecturer who was young and beautiful. Aubrey's golden hair color and long hair are the hallmarks of Aubrey. With a shirt and trousers, plus his extensive knowledge makes Aubrey look more elegant and highly respected.
After two hours of lessons, Aubrey returned to the lecture hall and rested for an hour before heading to the next class.
"Miss Aubrey? Someone's looking in the guest lounge." A female lecturer came in and called out to the woman who had just sat down.
"Who was looking for me this early?" Thought Aubrey.
The woman with blonde hair walked over to the room usually used to receive guests. That man? The first visitor to her shop this morning. Aubrey can't forget his unique hair color and demeanor.
"Sorry, are you really looking for me?" Aubrey approached the sitting man with his face down.
"Oh, are you miss Aubrey?" The man saw Aubrey and was just as surprised as Aubrey.
"Yes, my name is Aubrey. May I know your name? We've met twice but I don't know your name yet." Aubrey smiled kindly. This man seemed clumsy, indecisive, and seemed insecure.
"Liam… Liam Knight." He said
"Aubrey… Aubrey Green." The young lecturer introduced herself.
"Can I help you?" Aubrey sat on the sofa opposite Liam. And now they are sitting opposite each other.
"I want to ask, do you have a boyfriend or even married?" Liam asked with sad eyes looking at Aubrey. On the contrary, the woman who was asked such a sudden question widened her eyes and opened her mouth in disbelief. What kind of question is this?" he thought.
"Sorry, what do you mean by asking like that and who are you?" Aubrey couldn't believe that someone would ask such a question the first time they met.
"I'm sorry too, I - I'm trying to find out what my future wife will be like before she becomes my wife," Liam replied with a timid smile.
"WHAT?" Aubrey rose from her seat hearing this in the morning like being struck by lightning in broad daylight.
"Who are you to say that loudly?" Aubrey couldn't help but get emotional. Her hands were on her hips because she couldn't be patient anymore.
"I-I'm Liam Green, I introduced myself earlier." The man replied innocently.
"I mean… who are you to say I'm your future wife? This is a prank, right? Are you kidding me?" Aubrey looked around and walked to and fro looking for any hidden cameras to record her conversation and expression earlier.
"N-nothing. I came alone, with my driver. He's downstairs. I'm here because my dad said I was going to marry one of Jerry Green's kids." Liam said standing up awkwardly.
Aubrey had no idea how old this man was. But, why is he behaving like a child? Behind his tall and athletic stature, his timid childlike demeanor made Aubrey question his IQ.
"Sorry, I don't know what you mean and I still don't understand any of this. I'll ask my dad later when I get home. Anything else?" Aubrey asked with sharp eyes.
"Can you answer my question first? I will leave after that." Liam said with hopeful eyes.
"What other questions?" Trying to contain her emotions, Aubrey clenched her jaw.
"Do you already have a lover? Or a husband?" Liam stared into Aubrey's eyes no longer.
" Listen carefully because I won't say it again. I've never had a boyfriend, moreover a husband. Okay? Now get out of this place right now!" Aubrey pointed at the door indicating that the silver-haired man's presence was not wanted any longer.
Liam smiled faintly and replied, "Fine I'll go now. Sorry to interrupt your time." The man briefly smiled at Aubrey but was ignored by her.
