Epilogue

(A few months later)

Andrew’s release of the newly renovated playground had started a buzz among the typically-irritated neighbors. Finally, they had something new in their monotonous lives, something the children of the area could look forward to.

But it wasn’t just some ordinary playground. It had curves and patterns and colors and puzzles. The swings were secure and the merry-go-round seats. Tarps and seating were placed strategically for shade, even though the weather was almost never clear.

Andrew had infused energy into a once boring neighborhood. He had given life to community and relationships. Just not to his own.

Madeline and Andrew tried so desperately to hang onto what they knew, but as every relationship does, they made mistakes. But for some stubborn and insistent reason, they never gave up. Demolishing the past is like clearing the slate or turning a fresh page and never looking back.
