Chapter Twenty Six

Madeline’s POV

I marvel at the realization coursing through my mind, clouding up my brain but not filling the gaps completely. I flip through the pages, abundant and plentiful pages. Each one from the mind of my dear cousin which I now have a name for.

It’s just pages and pages of Julian.

I make it my mission to read the paperback book to better understand his brilliant mind. To discover a small portion of who he is now.

I know his past, in fact, I’ve relieved it. I know how he fidgets, his favorite books by heart, I know his family predicament and his insecurities he’d never admit to. I have relearned his hopes and dreams, his aspirations and interests. I’m overjoyed that he followed his passion in the end, I’m glad he became an author. I just wish I could share those moments with him.

I don’t even know if he remembers me.
