Chapter Thirty One

Madeline’s POV

Andrew sketches out the frame of something beautiful. Us.

He illustrates our relationship to the fullest it can possibly be described. Each date in detail, far more precious than I ever imagined.

He fills in each thought with certainty, coloring inside the lines of my mind. Vibrant shining colors of red and white, romance and purity.

I never noticed how much I must mean to him and how traumatic losing me must’ve been for him as well. If all those moments he shares with me are true, my accident must have affected him negatively. I almost feel guilty for getting in a crash, even though I’m not sure how it happened.

But I’ll learn from it even if I don’t remember it.

And now I vow to get to the bottom of this accident. I need to know how I crashed so I can prevent it from happening to me again. To him again.

We wrap up our food and clean up our table. We pay our regards to the chef and politely exit Les Éléments.
