" Do you already meet each other? " Daisy asked Kevin while looking at Ava.
" Yeah… I worked with him for a few months in Richard's company …" she replied curtly. Just then, Daisy heard her mother calling her and excused herself from them. They remained alone.
"How are you, Ava?" Kevin asked,
His voice was gentle but tinged with concern.
Ava took a deep breath, trying to steady her emotions. She shot him a sarcastic smile. "Oh, just fantastic, Kevin. You know, dealing with betrayal and heartbreak really does wonders for one's mood."
Kevin winced at her tone but maintained his composure. "I can only imagine. Just know that we are all here for you."
"Yeah…. Your whole family…." Ava replied, her voice dripping with sarcasm.
Kevin was stunned to see such a change in her behaviour. The bitterness in her words and the coldness in her eyes were stark contrasts to the Ava he once knew.
