BABY STEPS

It was a new day and Ashley was laying still on her bed lost in her thoughts,she wasn't sure of how her life would be without Alfie but all she had to do was to try and take control of her life, she got out of her bed took a quick shower and wore a red velvet dress that made her curvy body to be noticed put on some makeup and then tied her blonde hair back ready for work she picked her purse and walked out of the door,she was not in the moods for driving so she just walked some few blocks away to a café shop after ordering her coffee she headed to work,on arriving at the building she took long breath's and entered.

"How are you doing today Joan"Ashley greeted her secretary while walking to her office,

"am doing quite well"she replied.

She sat down and stared across the room and on the table she picked up sketches of some designs she had drawn and begun correcting them,she was lost in the moment she seemed happy she had forgotten everything.

"did you hear about Ashely's husband?"two employees had begun gossiping about there boss

"not yet,it seems very interesting tell me what happened"her friend was asking for more gossip,

"i heard that he went to Paris to work and no one knows when he will be back"the two females had nothing to do apart from gossiping they would spend the entire day picking their nose into other people's affairs.Ashley could hear them through the half closed glass door but she decided to dismiss them.

Busy as she was she received a call from one of her usual clients who paid huge amounts of money,he ordered fifty designed clothes that his models could walk with at the run way and he needed them urgently and at the end of the week,"hello Jared this is a really big deal to us especially to me since my design will be showcased around the world,but we need more time"she was trying to hustle herself out of the tight schedule that she was kept in,"okay then one week and i would be expecting the clothes delivered to me, you shall receive the payment afterwards"those were the few words the client said and then he was off the line before Ashley could say her price.

"listen up,we have a great deal to get done before the end of the week get busy the materials will arrive soon, i will also give you the sketches of how the clothes will look,this is a really big call for us''she paused for a second to gasp for breath "i know we can do it don't disappoint me i have great faith in all of you,so let's get busy,"she encouraged her employees and then a headed back to her office,she picked up the sketches and called out her secretary to the secretary and gave her the sketches to give everyone.

The office was busy that day,no one wasted their time sitting around or gossip and when darkness fell darkness fell everyone went home and the offices were empty and quiet no one was around apart from Ashley and the security guard who was on guard,she silently walked around the building she knew that the deal she had made was a real deal and her company would grow and at that moment she said to herself"i can do it, it's not hard all at all ,baby steps and with no time i will be at the top i will achieve my goals with or without Alfie around",she sighed and walked to her office picked her purse and called for an Uber the lights were turned off and offices locked.

On arrival home,she wasn't hungry so she sat down watched her favourite commercial and then she received a call from Alfie,

"hey hun,how are you,how was your day,"Alfie asked

"am fine, but am feeling lonely her the place feels empty without you and we had a busy day at work,"

"oooooh that's good,i miss you and i yearn to be next to you,i also had a busy day at the company and i am exhausted a good sleep will do me well i also have to meet with some business partners to sign some paper,"he then yawned a sign that he was tired,they were both tired and had long day ahead of them,they talked for a while Alfie seemed to love the place,

"so when are you coming back?"the question landed on Alfie without expecting it, he was speechless

"i really don't know,no one knows when the deal will be settled,we have to take things slowly and carefully this is a multi_million project."he said

"okay i wish you all the best,so can you please excuse me i need to rest i have a busy day tomorrow good night i love you,"Ashley was not okay with the reply, after the call she went to bed and started staring at her ceiling and with no time she had slumbered deep in sleep.

Early in the morning she got up cooked her own breakfast and got ready for work,this time she drove herself to work, everyone was busy no one noticed Ashley coming in.
