Chapter 8

We started the production of potions. Mia did indeed prepared everything. Before we made a sufficient amount, a buyer already bought our potions in advance.

Our healing potions are so effective that the price is expensive for peasants to buy. And it is only advisable to use it in serious injuries. So we diluted our potions to make it cheap for the masses and fit for every day use.

The expensive potions are sold throughout the kingdom to nobles, aristocrat and for the military.

The money that we earned was a lot. And Mia became famous among alchemists. I gave her all the information about making potions written in the book. She was given an award for her alchemy and the Church recognizes her contributions. And having a connection to the Church comes with a lot of previlages.

My partnership with Mia is a deal between us two. No one knew about it. So the people believed that Mia alone created all of her fortune by her hard work and being a genius. I am the one who asks Mia to hide my identity.

I really want to just stay low for a while. So then, we went to auction houses to look for the magic crystals that I need. And the purest one that we found is being auctioned in the biggest auction house in the kingdom.

Magic crystals are very important. They are used in so many ways. Normal people can use it even they do not have any magic power. They can summon water, fire, wind, soil, light, ice etc. They can use the soil crystals into construction. Fire crytals into a furnace. Wind crystals are used in sails. And so much more. But these crystals are expensive. Making one crystals will need a lot of magic power from magic beast.

Magic beast has a magic core imbued with their hearts. And these cores are the basis of the magic crystals. A fire demon fox contains a fire magic core. And a core that has a high magic input are magic cores combined together by the use of alchemy. And alchemist found a way for even normal people to release the magic of the crystals. Resulting it to become a magic crystals. But the cores must be the same type of magic, two different type of magic can't be made into a magic crystal.

So Mia and I went to the auction house. Mia was considered a VIP in the auction house. There is a lot of items that are being auctioned. Artifacts, magic core, weapons, books, slaves and even magic beast are included. Rare artifacts are the one sought after by rich guys. The girl slaves are bound to be sold to perverted rich guys. But who would blame them? Those girls are beautiful. Even an elf is included in them.

The auction house is a legal business. Slavery is not prohibited in the kingdom. But kidnapping a person and making her a slave is a crime. These girls being auctioned are enemy warriors. Human beast is what we call them because of their appearances. They are not pure human, an attribute of a beast is included in their physique. So you can see different types. There are bird-like human beast, reptile type and horned type beast and more.

Mia and I went to our booth in front of the auction stage along with other VIPs. The auction started and we managed to get what I need. Four basic types of magic core. The amount of these is worth 150 million gold pieces. It is still within my budget so I am happy with it.

A girl is shown to us and I am kinda to interested on her. She looks like a kid. She is very short but she looks strong. She was given introduced as a slime girl. She is strong and was hard to defeat by the soldiers. She took down 10 strong warriors in the war. Her magic is sealed and her appearance is the real one. It was definitely hard to compete to other customers but eventually I succeeded. I bought her for 100 million.

The auction was ended and Mia and I went home. My sister teased me for bringing the girl in our house.

"Brother, It seems that Kris Tine is not enough for you. I didn't know that you're into loli."

..."Wha..what are you saying? I didn't do anything with Kris Tine. She is our maid. And this girl is a warrior. She is an addition to our guard like Jack Chan."

My sister is a mature woman that is kinda pervy. She always make jokes about it. And she always tease me for being a virgin when we are poor back in the day.

The first thing I did for Riri, the slime girl, is offered her clothes and her room. She was definitely afraid of me. Her eyes are watery and she keeps her distance apart from me. I requested for Kris to bathe Riri and make her to eat dinner.

It has been a long day for me and I want to rest. I did receive a letter from Chi Lie stating that she is done translating the book. All I need to do is to combine the contents of the two books.

Beginning tomorrow, I can start the ritual using the magic cores and I will become stronger than before.
