Chapter 21

Ysabel and I went to the house of the physician and knocked on the door. We were greeted by a maid.

"Ms. Ysabel, Mr. Mei Kao, my Lord is waiting for you. Pleaae, come in."

From the outside, the house is just a normal two floor house and nothing special worth mentioning. But as we enter, we saw a magnificent living room, there is a carpet, nice lighting around the room and expensive things displayed. Beautiful vases and unique painting that looks mesmerizing. Walls made of marbles and a beautiful chandelier. One can recognize this house as a mansion.

We stopped in front of a door and the maid called the physician.

"Master, your guests is here."

"Oh. Let them in."

We went inside and saw a dashing looking man and realized that he is the Emerald Rank Magician Mr. Rel'Min. He focuses on treating ill patients rather than fighting. He got the title Emerald Magician from the previous king because of his accomplishments and magical prowess. He really look like an elf but something is different. I didn't realized that I've been looking at him for a long time.

"I am not a painting Mr. Mei Kao."

"Ahh. I am sorry sir."

"It is alright. You must be wondering if I am an elf right?"

"Ahh. Yes sir but.."

"But there is something different right?"

"Ahh yes sir."

"Hahahaha. I like this guy Ysabel. Your suspicion is right, I am not a true elf. Or rather I am a one fourths elf. My Grandmother is an elf and my grandfather is a human then my parents are humans. I only inherited the blood of my grandmother."

"Can I ask a question Sir?"

"Sure."

"If you are 1/4 elf, why does your elf blood is seen in your appearance is so prominent? I thought that once an elf has been with a man, the human blood will be shown not the elf side. And in your situation there should be no elf characteristics that you can have rather that your blood."

"Ohh. So you did know a lot about elf's."

"Ahhhh. Not really. It is just my friend likes reading books especially about elves."

He didn't answer me and changed the subject.

"So why are you here? What do you need? I think it is not just because of my appearance right?"

"Oh right. Well I do have a piece of paper that I think is an elven language and I can't find a translator."

"Let me see it. Ysabel go out for a bit."

Ysabel left and I gave him the last two pages of the book. Upon receiving it, he quickly made a barrier in the room.

"Where did you get this from?"

Sudden chill runs cold on my back and I felt a strong pressure coming from him.

"I.... I found it in the dungeon."

"Promise me that don't tell anyone about the things that I am about to tell you."

"Yes sir I promise."

The look on his face shows that he is very serious.

"This is the forbidden spell that can make spirits follow anyone. This is forbidden because only the elf is capable of using or utilizing the power of spirits."

"What? Then that will change the world into chaos if that is made public."

"Yes and No."

"What do you mean sir?"

"This spell is a one-time, one human kind of spell. And it looks likes it already marked for you. So It can't be used by anyone. But copying the spell and recreating it is the problem. If there is an elf that is forced to recreate it. It will be bad."

"So I might be killed if someone saw me using a spirit because I am not an elf?"

"No. There are rare humans that can use the power of spirits. But these are limited to 1-2 spirits. And they can use those spirits at the same time. But in your situation, you can only use one spirit at a time but the spirits that you can use is limitless. So be careful when using a spirit. Don't let others see you use a lot of kinds of spirit."

"Ohh. I see. But how can I activate it?"

"That is odd. The spell literally linked to you and you must now can use the power of spirits. You haven't tried calling one?"

"I never did. I don't know how. I didn't even know that the spell is already activated."

"Okay. Would you like me to teach you?"

I don't know what to say to him. Should I accept it? I still don't know him that much. And is he telling the truth? I just stutter when I replied to him.

"W..well t.. that's u..ummm. It is too sudden."

"Okay I understand. I know what you are thinking. How about this? I will teach you all about spirits and I will wait for your response in a week. Find out first about me and you will have your answer."

I agreed to his suggestion. I want to know first all about him and the things he is about to teach me. If it is all legit, I can accept him as my teacher.

I spent all the afternoon in his house teaching me. I still can't use it and he told me it is okay because spirits power are hard to use.

I went to the barracks in the evening and mailed a letter to my master in my hometown. The one who suggested me to go here in Halucia Kingdom. I asked her in the letter if it is okay for her to let me have another teacher. I am still waiting for her reply.
