Sneaking out at Night

In the current state of Xu Kingdom, there were barely any people Ronglou could trust. Aside from her two elder brothers and loyal servant, there was only one more person she could ask for help.

Just that, she didn't want to ask the person. Especially since they weren't acquainted at this time yet. It wasn't until she was 20 years old and became the Empress, where she had the chance to get acquainted with each other.

Ronglou had only been able to hear things about that person, but more of it was hearsay. Not until they became close friends when she finally learned the truth. Even then, it took her a year and a half to befriend that person.

How was she supposed to go and look for that person? When that person stays in the most inconspicuous place of all places, inside the Kingdom?!

Ronglou sighed. The sun had just set and they were about to have dinner. She then ask Yu'er to tell her parents that she was finishing her wedding dress tonight and will eat by herself. It shouldn't be a problem to lie at this point since everyone knew how she dedicated her life to this marriage to happen. Hearing her say that she was busy with the dress, no one dared questioned and disturbed her.

As the night grew darker, Ronglou knew that she had to act soon. Aside from having a loyal servant like Lu Huangyu. She had 3 more servants in her courtyard. All of which, was sent away early and was told that they could retire early tonight. Although Lu Huangyu was puzzled, she knew enough not to ask her Mistress.

When the time came for Ronglou to act, she dressed plainly in black. She was still dressed as a woman but covered her face with a black veil. She then called for Lu Huangyu to enter.

Lu Huangyu gasped as she saw what the Eldest Miss was wearing. "Miss, are you planning on sneaking out tonight?" Her eyes went wide, There was only this kind of explanation. Ever since she serves the Eldest Miss of the Yu Residence, her Mistress had never gone out at night. She even praised her Mistress that she was like the most perfect lady in the whole kingdom. Seeing her Mistress now, made her heart went beating faster.

"En. I need you to come with me. No buts, time is essential. Wear this." Ronglou throws one of her dresses to Huangyu.

Lu Huangyu was shocked to the bone. It was one of her Mistress' favorite robes! How can she wear it?

"Miss, I can't. This lowly one does not deserve to wear such a luxurious dress and its Miss' favorite!" Lu Huangyu trembled. She had noticed that her Mistress acted differently since today. She had never wore a red dress before! Much less, a black robe! Now, her Mistress even wants her to wear one of her dresses?

Ronglou sighed. She forgot that even though Huangyu was loyal, she was too naive. It wasn't until Ronglou entered the Palace and brought Lu Huangyu, where Huangyu learned how rough the world was.

"Wear it or I'll leave you!" Ronglou said as she walked towards the back window.

Li Huangyu panicked. She could never let the Eldest Miss go by herself! She would probably get beaten when the Prime Minister finds out about this! Especially in the middle of the night!

"Miss! Miss! I'll wear it! Please wait!" She said hurriedly as she strips her outer robe and wore the Eldest Miss' silky pink robe.

Seeing how quick Huangyu reacted, Ronglou nodded and waited for her. As soon as Huangyu was done, Ronglou pulled out a matching veil and flower hairpin.

Ronglou worked on it fast, to make Lu Huangyu look like a young miss from a noble family. She even applied to makeup to her. Lu Huangyu was all shocked and confused but had let her Mistress do whatever she please. Huangyu's hands though were wet and trembling. She had a bad premonition sprouting inside her heart.

When Ronglou was done, she then smiled and nodded at her work. Lu Huangyu was indeed a beautiful girl, too bad that she was a servant. When she died in her past life, she couldn't imagine what Lu Huangyu had felt. She must've cried so hard when she died, also remembering that she had never married. So that she could serve her Mistress to the end of her life. The Miss' short life at that, Ronglou sighed.
