Parting ways and gifts

Though the Imperial City's Gates were hardly guarded, it wasn't as tight when you have connections.

Leaving it was easy, since they used the same identity. The guards didn't dare block them. Aside from the coachman, Only The brothers, Ronglou and Huangyu was inside.

They arrived at the same place where Zheqi and Zhefei lefts their horses. The brothers got down and looked at their sister. They could see the determination on her eyes as she got down as well.

"Must you really leave? I can't help but be worried lulu. You hardly went out of the Imperial City. I should at least give you some guards." Zheqi said, he clenched his fist. He hated leaving his sister fending for herself.

"Don't worry about me. By the way." Ronglou smiled widely and stretched her open palm to them.

"Do you have any money? I didn't bring anything with me." She smiled ever so sweetly.

"You... you sly sister. Not only did you want to leave us, you are even extorting your brothers?" Zhefei chuckled but took a bag out of his sleeves. Zheqi chuckled as well.

Zhefei handed it to Ronglou and she smiled happily. She opened the bag and saw at least more than 100 golds inside. Jackpot! Her eyes glimmered.

She then handed it to Huangyu and looked at her Eldest brother. She did the exact same thing to him. Zheqi's face twitched, even he wasn't excluded. He sighed and took out a bag as well. Since he was a General, he had more money than his little brother.

He handed her two bags, containing at least another 200 golds. He thought that since his sister is going to fend for herself, she would need the money.

"Thanks Qi gege and Fei gege." Ronglou smiled innocently, like she was really extorting them.

The brother's knew how unreserved their sister was, when no one is around. She always asked for gifts from them, befoee they leave or got back from their travels. This was not an uncommon sight to them. They could only sighed at their empty pockets.

Ronglou kept the 200 golds to her self. She only gave the other 100 golds to Huangyu, in case she ran for errands that needed money.

"The night is almost done. I must take my leave. Remember if you see third brother, send him my way. If you really are worried, I could use his help. No one would look for him if he is missing, since he is a wastrel bastard." Ronglou giggled.

"You. Zhefan is still your older brother!. " Zheqi reprimanded his little sister.

"Yes brother. Little lulu remembers. Oh right, I forgot to tell you something." She then gestured for the both to stand closer as she wanted to whisper something on their ears.

After saying her piece. She smiled at the shocked faces of her brothers. Without a word, she went back into the carriage with Huangyu. The coachman then started moving towards Chen City.

The brother's stood frozen on the spot. What their little sister said was beyond shocking.

"Do you think what she said is true?" Zheqi slowly turned his body towards his brother. Zhefei was more smarter on tactics and informations.

"Possibly, our sister must've really had some hidden connections that we don't know of. We can't disregard this information. We must act on it, just in case." Zhefei nodded to himself. He wasn't looking at his brother but towards where the carriage had went.

"Agreed. Father must know of this. Let's go back." Zheqi then headed to towards his horse and mounted it. Zhefei followed suit.

It was almost dawn, he figured that his soldiers must've already started their travel. They decided to move a little farther from the gates and waited for them to come there.
