Awakening(Part-01)

*Ding *Dong *Ding *Dong

"Okay, class. Be careful on your way home. I heard that there is a possibility of opening a D rank dungeon in this area." Saying that, the teacher left.

I was still in shock though. Emi is a pure angel. How can she start dating someone? Well, I do understand why. Everything is about money. Takeda-senpai's family is rich. So, to a person like Emi, he might be an easy target.

Emi is a D rank ability user. A long time ago, dungeons started appearing in this world. Our world has gone through a catastrophic disaster. But fortunately, people started to awaken special abilities. We were able to somehow repel those monsters because of that.

Many years have passed, now only few people get fortunate to awaken their ability. They are called, 'Hunters'. Even though I said that, in recent decades, only few men are able to awaken. It seems that women are blessed in this case. Out of one hundred awakened beings, only 10 of them are men.

Emi is one of them. She is fortunate enough to awaken a D rank ability. If she wants to become stronger, she needs money. As she is from a middle-class family, she doesn't have enough money to get items which she needs to become stronger. So, if I am not wrong, that's why she decided to date Takeda-senpai. As his family is pretty rich.

"Okay, bye guys. I have to cheer for my boyfriend today. He has been working really hard these days. As an ace of the soccer club, he has to be trained hard for upcoming tournaments." Emi said to her friends.

"Kyaa, how lucky. You guys are made for each other." One of her friends praised her.

"I also want a boyfriend like him. He is rich and handsome."

"Well, we shouldn't compare Emi to a normal person. She is also an D rank ability user after all."

"Okay guys. I am going."saying that, Emi left with a smile on her face.

And here I am, even though she is someone I can't reach, my eyes are following her. To be honest, I feel like I'm broken right now. I don't really understand why I am living right now.

I stood up and tried to leave the classroom. As long as I remain at this place, I will feel broke.

But my path was blocked by a beautiful black haired lady with a ponytail. She is on per with Emi in terms of beauty. Emi is cute and on the other hand, she is purely beautiful. She is our class representative Aoyama Satsuki.

"What happened between you and the manager? Why are you not coming to work these days. I have tried to ask the manager about it, but she didn't respond." She asked me, concerned.

Satsuki and I used to work in the same restaurant. But a few days ago, the manager kicked me out of the restaurant for no reason. I don't even know what's my fault.

"She kicked me out of the restaurant." I replied.

"What? Why would she do that?" Satsuki suddenly shouted in surprise.

"Shiii... You're being so loud. Besides, how would I know? Even though I am as clueless as you."I replied with a bit of an annoyed tone.

"I see. I am sorry. I will try to talk with her. The student council held a meeting and I had to attend. I will talk to you about it later." Saying that, Satsuki returned.

Really, what's her problem? Sometimes I feel like she is concerned for me and sometimes I feel like she hates me. Well, It's not like it has something to do with me. Now that, Emi has started dating someone else. I don't need to come up with false hope like someone deeply cares for me.

To be honest, I need to find a job as I am pretty much broke and I don't have money.

"It's strange." I muttered by seeing the environment around me.

I left the school after that. On my way, I started to feel like something strange on this particular road. Normally, it's a pretty busy road. But now that I feel like it's totally empty. Why is that?

"Kyaaaa... Someone help me..." I heard a children's voice.

I started running that way without wasting a second. After running for a minute, I found myself in an open park. It was empty as usual. But there was a little girl. She looks like she is an elementary school student. She was totally scared. In front of her, there were five green creatures that I have seen on TV. Yeah, it's goblin.

Wait, why is something like that appeared here? No, I can see a small gate, but how did we end up here?

Normally, when a gate appears in a place, there will be an open space surrounded by. It's called "empty space." Normally, manaless people like  me can't get near these empty spaces. Only ability users can get inside the empty space.

Then what am I doing here? I don't even know. I don't have the ability. I am just a normal person. Then why?

"Grrrrrrrrrr." A goblin growled and started running towards the child.

Wait, I don't have time to think. I have to save this child.

I also started running toward the child.

"Kyaaa... Don't touch me.... Someone please save me."

As those goblins reached the child, they started to tear her clothes.

"Stay out of her." While shouting, I grabbed the metal pipe near me and smashed one of the goblin's heads with it.

"Ughhhhhhhhhh."

"Grrrrrrr." Others noticed me and roared.

One of the goblins with a sword came toward me. It looked really mad.

I tried to use the pipe again and tried to aim its head. But it blocked my pipe with one hand and smiled.

"Ugh."

The next moment, I started feeling a sharp pain in my chest. I slowly looked at my chest. I saw a bow pierced my chest.

*Kick

I kicked the goblin which was in front of me.

"Ugh, crap. I am losing my balance." I muttered as I noticed that I was losing my control over my body. I fell into the ground as I can't walk anymore. Bloods were coming out of my body. My eyes are getting blurred and it's started hurt like crazy. What's going on? Am I going to die? Crap, I don't want to die. I want to live.
