Chapter 23: The Awakening of the Oracle

Two years had passed since Adan's arrival at Camp Halfblood, and now, at the age of 13, he had settled comfortably into his new life. He had spent much of his time in the company of his best friend, Riley, exploring the camp and honing his skills. While Riley delved into the craft of forging armor and weapons, Adan found himself less interested in the art of smithing. Nonetheless, he took joy in his friend's passion and supported him wholeheartedly.

Together, they embarked on an experiment, channeling Adan's 2 months accumulated solar energy into a celestial bronze bow. As the radiant energy surged through him, the bow illuminated with a brilliant yellow glow, becoming enchanted in the process.

This enchanted bow no longer required physical arrows; instead, with each draw, it conjured a shaft of light powered by a fraction of Adan's solar energy. It was a unique weapon, usable only by Adan due to his exceptional ability to harness solar power and also since his half-sisters and half-brothers weren't able to gather solar energy in their bodies.

Over the course of the two years, Adan continued to train diligently, refining his combat skills and reducing his reliance on the bow. He sparred with fellow demigods daily, including children of Ares like Tom, with whom he developed a contentious relationship. Tom, a 13-year-old with green eyes, blonde hair, and a scar over his right eye, often clashed with Adan during training sessions. When no sparring partners were available, Adan would meditate, honing his abilities within the simulated battleground of his mind.

In his leisure time, Adan participated in camp activities such as Capture the Flag, where his prowess with the bow made him a formidable opponent. Nearly every cabin sought to have the Apollo cabin because of him on their team, knowing his skills could turn the tide of any game. Only through overwhelming numbers like 10 vs. 1 could the opposing team hope to overcome him.

Amidst his adventures, Adan found himself the object of affection for Diana, a daughter of Aphrodite. From the moment she laid eyes on him, she was captivated by his abilities and good looks. Utilizing her charm-speak abilities, she nearly persuaded Adan to kiss her, but he soon realized he was being manipulated. Despite this, he found himself drawn to Diana, with her captivating blue-green eyes and long, blonde locks. Succumbing to the allure, he shared his first kiss with her, and they entered into a brief relationship before realizing they were better off as friends.

Today started like any other for Adan, until whispers spread through the dining hall of the Oracle of Delphi awakening and making her way towards them. Adan couldn't help but feel a surge of anticipation, though he tried to dismiss it. Surely, the Oracle's visit couldn't be meant for him? Yet, as the Oracle stood before him, flanked by his half-siblings, Adan couldn't shake the feeling of uncertainty that gripped him.

As the Oracle's eyes met his, Adan's heart raced with anticipation, wondering what fate awaited him.
