BEEP! BEEP! BEEP!
The timer went off after sixty minutes, interrupting him. Rose quickly dropped the picture frame on the table before he could move
"W-well" Rose tapped the alarm off "I guess that is it for today's session. Would you like to extend?" She gave off a forced smile.
"Ah, no need" he sighed. He realized that it was the time the session is at end so he jumped closer to Rose and desperately asked "Doc, am I crazy?" he unconsciously held her hands but he did not think of anything else but an answer to his question.
"Mr. Anderson, I will have to evaluate your situation so please give me time to think and process your story. I will surely answer you in our next appointment" she politely took her hand back from his grip. She wanted to process his story as well as the connection on what Rose saw on the picture and the woman earlier.
"I understand if you don't believe me but I am simply telling the truth"
"I believe you, Mr. Anderson."
Of course, she does. If her assumption is right, she even encountered his wife just an hour ago before entering his office. The girl from the picture frame certainly looked exactly the same as the woman that accompanied her earlier, especially the piercing red lipstick she wore. However, base on Mr. Anderson's story she is already dead from suicide while his son has gone missing after their encounter.
They both stood up and he escorted Rose to the door. "Please message me through this number for your next appointment with me" she handed a card to him and paused "Say, Mr. Anderson what time do your employees go home?" Rose looked at him before completely handing the card.
"They stay around until five. I don't allow them to exert themselves with work so if they have unfinished data I ask them to do those at home and strictly no overtime, why? Is there any problem?" He opened his hand to claim the card and Rose placed the card on his palm
"You are very kind sir." She laughed to cover her nervousness and went on her way. She wanted to ask about the woman who walked her to his office but she did not utter a single word about it, she wanted to keep her own unprofessional opinion to herself. Rose smiled instead and shut the door behind her after leaving his office.
She turned her wrist down to look at the time. "6:15 if only I arrived early I wouldn't have to go home late" she complained. The sound of Rose's heels stamping on the floor echoed in the corridor and stopped by the entrance of the elevator when she realized it was not air conditioning that froze the place earlier it may be because she was standing by a corpse. Her hand shaking a little when she pressed the arrow down button and waited.
Rose tried to evaluate his situation logically and tried not to mix in her belief to what he said, she is a doctor after all. He might be hallucinating since he had not slept for days, it is quite understandable if that's the case. A thought flashed in Rose's mind,
The deafening silence made her imagine situations. The thought of it terrified her. ๐๐ถ๐ค๐ฉ ๐ต๐ฉ๐ช๐ฏ๐จ๐ด ๐ฅ๐ฐ๐ฏ'๐ต ๐ฆ๐น๐ช๐ด๐ต she reminded herself and shrugged the feeling off. However, she felt a little chill on the back of her neck.
Ding! the door opened.
Luckily, no ghost nor woman waiting for her inside she released a sigh of relief and took a step in the elevator.
Rose turned to face the door to press a button and felt every inch of her body quiver to the appearance of the woman in front of her. The lights in the hallway started to flicker crazily then the elevator started to close slowly.
It was the same woman from earlier but her features were more defined and the lipstick accentuated from her faded body. The elevator began to move down. Though it was silent, Rose can hear her heartbeat. She panicked and stumbled on the elevator floor, various situations flashed in her mind that very moment. Realizing the fact that she is in the elevator and there is no other way out, she pondered
"Holy shit am I in a horror movie?!" she whispered loudly in shock.
Rose readied herself for the possible events that might occur to her just like in movies. The whole six, seven minutes or so that she has been in the elevator waiting, Rose has been preparing her heart for the scare that awaits her when the door opens. She wanted to feel less terrified so she considered adapting herself to the situation and stabilize herself. Rose inhaled and exhaled countless times until she is calm and prepared.
Ding! the door opened
"Oh." In her disappointment, everything turned out normal. Rose walked out of the elevator and the company. She slumped on the way home and nothing really happened other than that. Rose arrived around eight at her house and opened her door quickly headed to her room and buried her face on the pillows then reflected. Her last thought before she fell asleep.
Blazing fire scattered in the place where two people screamed for help. They were shadows in Rose's eyes, their appearance was blurred she could not see their faces properly but they looked at Rose straight in the eyes.
"AHH!" Rose shouted and jumped sit on the bed she was sweating and panting heavily. "that dream again" her voice taut.
It is still in the middle of the night when she woke up, the blue moonlight invaded her room but there are still corners that the light could not reach, the night was chilly and silent. Rose fell back on her bed while the crickets hummed Rose to sleep and she could feel her eyes starting to feel heavy, she was drowsy again and slowly shuts her eyes to slumber.
