The Awakening

Anna had forever been a predictable animal. Every morning, her morning timer would buzz at exactly 6:30 AM, and she would begin her day with a steaming mug of espresso. Today, however, was unique. She got up to the sound of birdsong and daylight spilling through her window. Sleepy and muddled, she looked at the clock on her end table. It read 9:15 AM.

Alarm set in as Anna lost her bedsheets and hurried to the washroom. Her appearance in the mirror uncovered wide eyes and a tousled mop of hair. She sprinkled water all over, trusting it was every one of the a fantasy. In any case, the new restroom, the different brand of toothpaste, and the frightening acknowledgment that she wasn't in her own condo told her in any case.

"What in blazes is going on?" Anna murmured to herself.

She bumbled for her telephone, yet it wasn't where she normally left it. All things being equal, a smooth, new gadget lay on the bedside table. It paused for a minute to sort out some way to open it, yet when she did, she saw a flood of missed calls and messages from a contact named "James."

"Anna, where could you be? Is it true or not that you are alright? Call me as quickly as possible!" read the latest message.

Anna dialed James' number and stood by tensely for him to get.

"Anna?" James' voice sounded assuage yet in addition concerned. "Where have you been? I've been attempting to contact you throughout the morning."

"I... I don't have any idea, James. I awakened in a weird spot. It's not my loft," Anna stammered.

"Portray where you are," James asked.

Anna gave a flimsy portrayal of the room she was in, and James fell quiet briefly prior to answering, "Anna, listen cautiously. You're not in your own body at the present time."

Anna's heart beat. "What are you referring to?"

"It's difficult to make sense of, yet I've had to deal with this previously. Some way or another, our awareness has exchanged bodies. I'm in your body, and that is no joke."

Anna felt like the ground had been pulled free from her. "This can't be genuine."

James proceeded to make sense of his own encounters in Anna's body, the strange sensations, and the acknowledgment that their lives were mysteriously entwined. They consented to meet face to face to attempt to get a handle on this befuddling circumstance.

As Anna hung up the telephone, she was unable to shake the inclination that her life had quite recently taken an unbelievable turn. Yet again she looked around the new room, thinking about how in the world she had wound up in another person's body.
