"Sophia! Can you please be more rational? Look at yourself now! You're acting like a shrew!"
"It's all because of this wretched woman, Emily!" Sophia sneered coldly, her teeth clenched, as if she wanted to sink her teeth into Emily's flesh. "If it weren't for her, we would be happily married!"
Emily stood by silently, listening to their conversation.
But Sophia clearly wasn't going to let her off easily. She continued her tirade, "She's a woman without a university degree. She's only fit for jobs like cleaning or being a maid. What right does she have to be Mrs. Reed?"
Emily grew angry, "Sophia, I didn't use any dirty tricks to become Mrs. Reed. You know why I got married. It was Nathan's grandfather's dying wish. I never had any intention of gaining anything from this marriage. I merely agreed to fulfill an old man's last request."
