Paint My Destiny [BL]

Kui lang's fingertip gently grazed his painting. Beautiful pair of blue gem like eyes seemed so lifelike. The glistening green tail shone brightly in the sunlight. "Beautiful...." Suddenly, a hand reached out and grabbed his fingertips. The lifelike tail swisher around slashing mist on his face, and the merman's blue eyes blinked down at him. Kui fell down from shock. "W-What.. what is this..." The merman tugged at his hand, and the next second, he was in a different world. The world he had drawn with his own hand.

Chapter 6 - Karma is a bitch

Dai Zu was rolled out of the event on a stretcher kicking and screaming. The award he received on the ground was unattended.

Kui just gazed dazedly at it.

Someone patted his back hurriedly.

"Come on, let's leave." Woo Tan pulled him up and dared him out of the event all the while Kui was left dazed and stunned.

Tan dragged him to his car and pushed him into the passenger seat and got into the driver's seat. "Oh my god did you see that?! his hair went up in flames!!! Karma is a bitch!!!" his best friend giggled like a deranged teen.

Kui Lang peered at him. " Should I tell him it's my work…' it was not karma... rather it was the painting brush. He tightened his grip on the art supply bag. "Do you think he deserved it?"

No one deserves to lose their hair. He was only trying to test out an impossible theory, but it ended up causing such a huge mess.

"That bastard deserves more. If I had any powers in my hand, I will do something worse to him."

Kui had powers like that. but… he never wanted to hurt anyone. Dai Zu might be a bad person but he was not. He did not wish to become the worst just to deal with a bastard like that. it was better to forget and move on. Let his work speak for his reputation.

He leaned against the seat with a grin. "But it feels good."

"Yes! That felt so good!!!" Tan excitedly slammed on the steering wheel. "I tell you, that guy had it coming. Karma bit his ass instantly. Who knows he might learn a lesson and might even crawl back to you and give your work."

"Stop dreaming, Dai Zu is a cockroach. He will never give up. Especially my work. I don't want anything to do with him anymore. Right now, I only want to focus on making my new pieces." He said with the most peaceful smile on his face. he had never felt so peaceful while and after his relationship with Dai.

He leaned his head against the window, gazing out into the busy streets.

"You okay, buddy?" Tan patted his shoulders.

"I've never felt better." Kui smirked. "Tan, can you drop me home? sorry I can't join you for a picnic… I have something I want to do."

Tan rolled his eyes. "Yeah yeah, I know. But I will drop by now and then. let's have pizza parties."

Kui chuckled softly. "You're lactose intolerant, you idiot."

"Enjoy my farts."

"Fuck…"

Kui Lang had a huge sense of accomplishment in just a single day. He stumbled upon a magic brush that would grant his wishes and Dai Zu got his retribution. It was such a wonderful day.

Humming, he sat in front of the canvas. The mermaid painting was still drying.

He carefully took it off the stand and placed it in a corner where it will not be disturbed. "You will be my next masterpiece." He gently caressed the merman's face.

With a grin, he started with a blank canvas.

His series was going to be fantasy themed. Particularly mermaid themed.

He pulled out the brush from his art bag and kissed the small fish engraved on it. "Magic brush can you make things come to life?"

Kui was interested in testing the theory. He dipped the brush in water and drew a simple little cockroach on the blank canvas. He closed his eyes and opened them waiting for the cockroach to appear on the canvas but…

Nothing happened.

No cockroach in sight.

"I guess you have your limitations too." He gently wiped the brush tip.

'it can fulfill wishes but it can't bring inanimate things to life. what other limitations do you have?' He took the brush along and went to the streets. There was a small theory he wanted to test.

He roamed around the most inhabited alleyways and finally stumbled upon what he wanted. a dead animal.

The dead rat was lying on the ground slightly puffed up. it was obvious that it had passed away a few hours ago.

Kui squatted close to it. "let's see if this brush can bring things back to life."

He quickly wrote down his wish and waited.

Again, nothing.

The bruise did not bring it back to life.

"Does it only work once a day?" he confusedly glanced around. A young couple was seen wearing matching scarves. "Hm let's test it."

He quickly wrote it down. 'Let her scarf fly.'

The next moment a huge gust of wind fluttered through the alleyway pulling the young girl's scarf along with it.

"Oh, catch it honey!" the pair ran a bit and caught it.

Kui watched it and made a note. 'so, the brush can work for more than a day. But It can't bring back the dead, can't bring inanimate objects to life. what about changing time?'

He walked back home to test this theory.

He sat on the bed with a small kitchen knife in hand. "I hope it works…" he cut his thumb. The timer was on noting the number of seconds that had passed since he had made a cut.

Blood flowed out in a small stream.

he gently held the brush with the other hand. 'I wish to go back in time by ten seconds.'

Anxiously, he watched the wound.

But to his dismay, it did not disappear.

"So can't reverse time. what about healing."

He wrote down his wish. 'Heal my hand.'

Something miraculous happened. The small cut on his thumb disappeared but to his surprise, the huge slash he had made on his wrist started to sting and heal up right in front of his eyes.

"No way…." he watched the skin flaps close up and his wrist returned back to normal.

"This is too absurd…"
