Bella's POV
The Nigerian police and justice system was a mess.
I knew how corrupt the system was but I had never thought it would ever affect me.
All my life, I had been told that the police were my friend and I could always trust the police to protect my rights and guard me.
It was only when I finally began to read the newspapers and listen to the news that I realized how rotten the system was.
With bribes and offerings, they could be bought off by anybody with the most cash, leaving the ordinary man in the dust, without justice.
Not all of the police officers were bad, there were good apples in the bunch but as they say, one bad apple spoils the entire bunch.
That was just how the world I found myself in seemed to work.
