MORE LIKE A NIGHTMARE
TIARA
The blood froze in my veins. I was at a loss for words, regardless of how trivial. How was I going to tell my mother that I got married to give her a chance at life? She would not only have condemned me, but I would also have signed the divorce papers within the next few hours.
“What the heck are you on about, mom? Of course, our marriage is as...as it should be, dammit! Stop thinking foolish thoughts! We’ve taken the step because we’re young and in love. What’s wrong with that?”
Even though I initially thought I was being too harsh, I let loose and stood my stance. Mom was under no circumstances permitted to know about it.
She gave me a stern look.
“I’m sorry, my dear, but if he really cared, he would have wanted to meet your family, us, and provided you two a good beginning in life. That’s the way I think it should happen with everything. In that exact order!”
