Said Adam as he woke up in his shaby apartment groggily before looking left and right wondering what happened before his mind flashed back to yesterday.
After getting fired from his job due to having a shitty boss he decided to try his luck- which has been quite bad lately -at a nearby lottery and surprisingly he won 100 million dollars. At first he couldn't quite believe his eyes which prompted him to rub his eyes several times and even asking for water to wash his eyes earning him weird looks from the owner and the onlookers.
After some minutes he looked at the owner with a deep smile which made his eyes shine and also earned him a blush from the girl behind the owner making the owner shoo the girl through a door before looking at him with a stern gaze.
"Please can you hold this for me.Thank you"Adam said quickly dropping a box containing his stuff from the office and heading directly to the company in a hurry.
He rushed into the company dodging the security and hurrying forward to his former department praying that the manager is around.Upon reaching his destination in accordance to his prayers the manager was present.
"I have told you people several times to work diligently or you will get laided off just like that useless Adam".The manager said arrogantly hands on hips and nose in the air.
During his time working Adam always thought that if not for the presence of the ceiling the manager's nose might just reach the stars and beyond.
Manager Sam Seaman a man with an average height and a slightly bloated belly -which by the way he constantly pushed forward-he was proud of.And with the finishing touches of a below average face complimented with cunning eyes was a creature who must have pissed off the almighty in some way to be like this.
"Who was the one in charge of the B-ray project?"Sam asked looking around only to be met with silence.
"Sir..." A brave female worker said with a small voice while biting her lip.
"Speak up"Sam said in an annoyed voice.
"Yes sir.Adam"
"Huh?"
"Sorry, I meant it was Adam who was in charge of the project"She said and shrunk back a bit.
"Dammit"Sam said in an annoyed voice.
"Do any of you have..."
Seeing his cue Adam walked in heading straight to the manager to the shock of everyone.
The air in room quickly changed as everyone held their breath in anticipation waiting for the next thing knowing it would be dumbfounding and indeed it was.
"I am really greatful to you sir please accept my thanks"Adam said with a beaming face and a pleased voice as he shaked Sam's hand.
"I will remember to burn incense or something like that and also tell my children to do the same"Sam said with all smiles before turning around and heading back from where he came.
"Huh?!"Everyone said at once.
"Thank you very much."Adam said to the owner of the lottery place after he came back and after going through the various procedures necessary plus recieving assurance of getting the money by three days time he then left.
This prompted Adam to go to the nearest bar near his place after dropping off his stuff, drink himself to stupor and also buy for some people a few drinks all which led to this moment.
Adam's thoughts were interrupted by the sudden appearance of a screen in his vision which showed a countdown which was already red in colour.
"What the..."Adam trailed off in shock before clicking on a roll button beside the number ten which was below the countdown.
