"Any new find?" Xiao Ning'er asked as she sat down beside him in the library.

He took out a few books that he had found on healing and showed them to her.

"Nine Phoenix Healing. Jade Touch Recovery. 361 Points Massage. And a few others." He said while pointing at the books "But no luck on finding the Daoyin technique."

Ning'er bit her lips, giving her a vulnerable look and making him think impure thoughts about her.

"Will any of these work?" she asked.

He shrugged "I've yet to learn them. And even then, learning a few exotic medical techniques doesn't make me a doctor." He said "For all we know, these techniques might even worsen your condition at best and kill you at worst. We can't just take chances and use whatever we got out hands on."

"So there's no hope?" she asked, looking downtrodden and he shrugged once again.

"I never said that. Even as we talk, my clones are going through more and more books on medical texts but there is a limit to even what they can do." He replied "Plus, it might very well be possible that there is no mention of the Daoyin technique in the books here. In that case, we'll have to search for other avenues."

"Other avenues?" she asked.

"Yup. I was thinking about sneaking into the Library of the City Lord at night to steal some books from there."

Her eyes widened at his declaration and then she went pale "No! Please don't do that. We'll find some other way. If the guards in the City Lord Mansion found you then who knows what they might do to an intruder."

He noticed that she had walked around the table and was earnestly holding his hands now.

He cleared his throat and pointed toward the other corners of the library where the other students were sneaking a look at them.

She blushed and promptly went back to her seat.

"Very well then. I won't try to steal books from the City Lord's mansion." He totally would. "But that reminds me about something that happened yesterday."

"What happened?" Xiao Ning'er asked.

"Your friend Ye Ziyun came and questioned me about my intentions toward you." He said while rolling his eyes. "Even threatened to get the city lord involved and all that crap."

Her eyes narrowed at the mention of Ye Ziyun and her fists clenched "Ye Ziyun… She is no friend of mine. And she has no right to interfere with who I choose to associate with."

He waved his hands in dismissal "She's mostly harmless. And for all her stupidity, she does seem to genuinely care for you. But I hate the trouble she brings with herself."

"Trouble?" Ning'er asked, looking confused.

"Oh you know. The scion of Sacred family that always seems attached to her heal. She is annoying enough as she is but that Shen Yue boy is just bad deal. I would rather not get his attention. That would just lead to him bullying me which would then force me to kick his ass and show my hand before I'm ready." He said and then looked at her "And before you say anything, you're not any better either. As soon as Shen Fei hears about your 'friendship' with me, he'll probably come to threaten me and tell me to keep my filthy commoner hands away from you or some shit like that."

"Oh…"

"Yeah. Oh…" he said "Now allow me to get back to my studies."

He then went back to studying but even as he did that, he kept one eye out for any sort of commotion like he had been doing for the past few days.

And just as he was about to assume that today was a bust as well, he heard the voices of a lot of people coming from the other side of the library.

"Let's check what's happening." He said to Ning'er and then went toward the direction where all the voices were coming from.

"This piece of armor in my hand is called Flaming Dark Armor. It's bronze ranked and one had hundred thousand demon spirit coins, they wouldn't be able to get it!" the students whom he recognized as Chen Linjian proclaimed proudly.

The old boy looked pretty similar to his counter part in the Manga. But all he could see when he looked at the boy was a way to get to the Shadow Devil, Abstruse Gem, the page of the Temporal Demon Spirit book from Sage Emperor's fake coffin. And while he was at it, he might as well take all the other treasures of the underground treasury.

The only reason he had not already gone to that place on his own was because 1. He was still quite weak despite his 1 Star Bronze Rank Status and 2. He had no idea where those runes were and would have to rely on this guy to show him the way.

He used a few different roleplays to check the armor and was surprised to find that it was actually of quite decent quality. Much better than the Bronze Ranked armors shown in the auction. It must have been custom made for him or something and now that Chen Linjian was about to reach the Silver rank, he probably found no more need for that armor.

This guy was also the scion of his family like Shen Yue, Shen Fei or even Ye Ziyun but he seemed far more impressive than any of them.

Even his followers looked more impressive and professional than the chumps following Shen Yue who looked like they were just there so that they could bully the weaker students and curry more favor from Shen Yue.

He found himself already liking this guy.

"Putting on this flaming armor, you'll be invincible under Silver rank!" Chen Linjian proclaimed, riling up the crowd's interest. This guy at least knew how to work with the crowd which he himself was not very good at. Not until he used his Roleplay power at least.

He saw some of the guys giving Chen Linjian while the girls gave him flirtatious looks. Looks that Chen Linjian didn't even pay any attention to. The guy must be used to these things.

"I give this armor to you!" the guy said and threw the armor toward one of his weaker followers.

Everyone else looked dumbfound at Chen Linjian just giving away something that cost hundred thousand demon spirit coins. But then again, even among the three Major Families the Divine family was the wealthiest because of their monopoly on Holy Dark Grass and the other expensive and useful herbs grown by them.

From what little he knew about the Divine family, he knew that they had more Black Gold Rank experts in their family than even the Snow Wind family. The only reason they were considered weaker than the Snow Wind family was because of the lack of a Legend Rank Expert in their rank.

Chen Linjian then took out a cloth pouch from his spatial ring and showed it to everyone "There are six 5 year old Holy Dark Grass in here. They were taken from my house. As long as you guys follow me and work hard, there won't be any lack of benefits for you guys!"

The stalk of a single 5 year old Holy Dark Grass was worth 50,000 demon spirit coins and the grass not only helps with cultivation, it also strengthens the soul force of the cultivator and keeps it in balance.

He had already planned on buying the 20 year old Holy Dark Grass but such things aren't sold in the market and it wasn't present in the last auction house.

The only way to buy the grass was through connections with the Divine family that he just didn't have.

He watched the whole event play out from the background and just like it happened in the Canon, the other students quickly gathered around him so that they could join him.

"A total of 20 people. But we still need to find some more!" Chen Linjian said after counting the people who've decided to follow him.

He realized that it was finally time for him to step up and used his power to roleplay as Nie Li.
