Chapter 81

“Yes?” The voice diverted her attention.

Cam handed the three books to the secretary who sat behind the desk. “You asked for these?”

The secretary took them, looking at the titles on the spines. “Yes, thank you. No, wait. These two are right. This other isn’t the one I wanted.”

“That’s the only one we have by that author.”

“It’s okay. Take it back. I’ll get it somewhere else. Did you sign these out in my name or Warden Spellman’s?”

“Your name. Sarah Adrien.”

“That’s correct. Make sure I don’t get charged for the third one if it shows up missing.”

“Don’t worry, I’ll take care of it.” Cam turned to go.

“What’s your name?” Sarah asked.

“Andrews. Cameron Andrews.”

“Thank you, Andrews.” Sarah wrote her name down on a piece of paper. “You can go now.”

Cameron glanced toward the warden’s office as she opened the main office door, but still couldn’t see who was in there. She walked back to the library.
