Extra Story One, Xie Li (Part One)_1
When Xie Li was young, his mother was very strict with him. She constantly urged him to focus on his studies and carved into his mind that only through education one could rise above the crowd. She didn't want him to turn up like his father who had achieved nothing in life.
Xie Li's father was a man without refinement, often taking him to the marketplace on his shoulder. Xie Li relished a certain kind of sticky maltose candy, which his mother always forbade. His father, however, would secretly buy some for him.
The two of them would hide in a lane not far from home, in a blind spot behind the garbage bin. While his father stealthily smoked, Xie Li devoured his candies, and they would head home once the evidence was eradicated.
Until one day, he got a cavity, and their secret masculine bond was discovered by his mother.
That day, his tooth ached severely, and his parents fought violently outside.
