The bar called an ambulance, and Meng Xiao was assigned to escort the young woman to the hospital.
The hospital was brightly lit. The young woman was restless and uncooperative in the emergency room. Out of desperation, the doctor gave her an injection to calm her down.
Now, she lay on the hospital bed, her eyes vacant as she stared at the white ceiling light above her.
Meng Xiao sat on a sofa next to her, marveling at the comfort of the rich life. The VIP ward had a private bathroom, a floor-to-ceiling window with a pleasant view, and a spacious couch for the caretaker.
"Can I notify your family? I have to leave early for work tomorrow morning," Meng Xiao said softly, though the girl seemed not to hear her.
"I'll turn off the light. It's not good for your eyes to look at it for so long."
With a sigh, Meng Xiao switched off the light and lay down on the couch. As time ticked by, the girl kept her eyes open.
"Aren't you going to say something?"
