Why are we wet?

The week passed with me blinking to Vampore after school everyday to help king Harold with the planing of Vlads birthday the party was on Saturday, and Friday after school I went to help decorate Vlad was hyper bouncing and talking loudly as we were on our way to meet his best friend who I knew nothing about people were greeting us but I was the only one answering as Vlad was going on and on about his friend I wasn't even listening to him I just nodded trying to figure out what tomorrow would bring

"WE'RE HERE" he shouted bringing me out of my thoughts, the house infront of me was an average size it looked like a cottage but bigger the roof was blue and the walls were white "right her name is Nicola Nikki for short" Vlad said I just nodded he knocked on the door and then waited impatiently

"Will you relax, you act like you have ants in your pants" I finally told him not being able to stand it anymore

"Can't" he said "too excited, I haven't seen Nikki in soooooo long can't wait to see her" he squealed I took a step back he wasn't acting like a prince it was scary the door finally opened by a ..... Well barbie she had long blond hair a thick layer of makeup with blood red lips and skin tight black dress

"Hiiiii" she squealed as her and Vlad hugged I felt awkward when they finally let go of each other she noticed me "who's your friend?" She asked Vlad, I smiled

"Oh Nikki this is queen Caitlin of Enidan, Caitlin this is my best friend since nursery Nikki" Vlad introduced we shook hands as we walked in. The house was beautiful the furniture was black the walls were a mixture of white and red it looked nice Vlad went to sit down and I followed, Nikki sat down too

"So you turn eighteen soon, how do you feel?"

"Oh Nikki I can't wait I'm so looking forward to it, I need a drink can I have a drink I'm gonna get a drink" he said all at once as he stood up and walked into what i assumed to be the kitchen Nikki and I shared a glance then shrugged it was a peaceful silence until barbie spoke with venom

"So you the queen he's always talking about" she said looking at me up and down

"Yeah" I told her she scoffed "what's your problem?" I asked her anger flowing

"He's my mate so take your claws off him" she told me I stared at her in amazement is she for real? "I've worked really hard to get him to like me so back off" yep she's for real I couldn't say anything as Vlad walked in

"Ahh that hit the spot" he said as he walked towards me and sat down barbie transformed into a good host and we talked for ages I had almost forgotten about what she had said to me when Vlad had been in the kitchen I had started wondering if I had just imagined the conversation, until she glared daggers at me as we were leaving

"Hey Vlad?" I asked as we said goodbye to barbie "lets blink back" I told him looking and smiling at barbie as she looked confused then angry as I held Vlads hand I smirked then blinked I heard her gasping as we disappeared my smirk turned into a smile as we appeared outside the castle

"That was .... Woah" he stumbled like he was drunk I held him up as he got his bearings

"Are you ok?" I asked he just nodded I let go of him slowly as we walked into the palace we were greeted by servants who were all very busy. Vlad finally seemed to come out of his 'drunk' state I saw king Harold coming, no running down the stairs

"I CAN'T BELIEVE YOU GOT DRUNK" he boomed he came near us "you let him get drunk" he said to me before turning to Vlad I tried to speak but king Harold was already talking "how could you be so careless?" He asked Vlad tried to speak in fact he spoke twice telling his dad he hadn't drunk anything but king Harold wasn't listening instead he was going on about kings and how it was irresponsible of Vlad to get drunk Vlad got mad too and now they were both shouting at each other I tried to stop it with words really I did but they didn't hear me now I can't whistle very loud so i did the next best thing yep I made a water ball well you can guess what I did with it can't you? that's right I threw it at them they stopped abruptly and looked at me they both had anger on their faces I flinched and took a step back

"Ok before you hurt me, or each other, hear me out Vlad isn't drunk he was acting like that because we blinked" I told king Harold

"Oh" king Harold said then turning to Vlad he asked "is this true?"

"Yes dad I would never get drunk I thought you knew me better than that" he stated

"We'll I'm sorry son I shouldn't jump to conclusions"

"No you shouldn't, now why are we wet?" Oh oh they both looked at me with mischief in their eyes I turned and took off running as both father and son chased me around the castle I ducked and dived as they were gaining on me I screamed sorry every so often as they shouted for me to stop then I blinked behind Harold they stopped abruptly and looked at each

"Where'd she go" Harold asked Vlad shrugged

"She blinked"

"CHEATER" Harold shouted but he was loud

"Ahh my ears" I shouted as I covered my sensitive ears they turned and Vlad grabbed me before I could run I squealed Harold laughed and called a maid the maid came with a goblet with water in it oh crap I thought trying to break free I couldn't even blink and Vlad was strong king Harold took the goblet and walked towards me "no king Harold I'm sorry really I'm really really sorry please don't aargh" I screamed as king Harold emptied the goblet on my head the king and Vlad were both laughing I smiled "is that the best you got?" They looked at me their laugh dying out as I let the fire run through my veins I could feel myself steaming once I was dry I stopped the fire, both father and son were staring with their mouths hanging open I walked over to king Harold I put a finger under his chin and pushed it closed "you'll catch flies" they finally snapped out of it "woah" they both said together I just smirked we then sat and planned for the party I helped the servants decorate the castle even though they both protested. Soon the castle was ready the servants all said their thankyou's to me I just smiled I admired the work it looked great there were balloons and streamers and a birthday banner the castle was very colourful I told the king I was going home to change as the party started in an hour and when Vlad turns eighteen at midnight the party will carry on into the early hours of the morning. he nodded.

I blinked home to my room I opened my wardrobe and picked out a red gown with a ribbon at the waist. I wore red gloves that reached my elbows I did my hair up into a bun making it rest in the middle of my ruby studded crown I looked in the mirror, I smiled, I was ready. But what would today bring I thought, thinking about Nikki 'he's my mate so back off' she had said what if he likes her and secretly wants to marry her will we be happy can I be happy knowing my husband doesn't love me I could handle my people hating me but couldn't I stand it if he did to. I would ask him I nodded and was about to blink to Vampor.
