CHAPTER 12

I heard footsteps and voices coming towards the cafeteria, I was in too much pain to pay them any attention. I heard them yelling for doctors and nurses as they dragged Isaiah and me towards a wing that I've been dying to see what was inside. Now, with my final breath, I got the chance. I must've smiled by then, I never knew, because I faded into the void of possible death.

The next thing I knew, I fell down, Into the void I mentioned earlier, It was pure, like pure black, the blackest of blacks I'd ever seen. I saw a grey silhouette a couple of yards away from where I was standing, It stood there without moving, I ran chasing it, like I was chasing the hope to live.

I lost my entire energy on the two steps I had while running, limped across, weakly, and walked over to the silhouette, It didn't have a definite shape, it kept changing into different shapes, and bodies, all the people I recognised, It was like seeing them before I go.

Memories started shaping into the grey mist, everyone I'd seen and everything I'd seen, all the good memories of friends, and family filled the mist, making me smile, and laugh, but then, everything faded, All the bad ones started rushing in, Getting embarrassed by one of so called friends, Getting taken away from Family, getting beat up, lies, all of that…

I shut my eyes hard and held my ears tight, not saying a word, hoping it would go away…

Then, I woke up, panting like I'd run a marathon, My buddies sat there shocked, like they've been observing me from the time I'd seen all those memories in the grey mist.

Isaiah and Mia had tears in their eyes, probably because I came back from the dead.

They tried to smother me with hugs, but I refused, saying that my palm and face hurt badly, and I couldn't do anything with the injuries in place.

So they gave me a few Hi-Fives and fist bumps to the same hand I used to stab Tisha, and myself with.

"Remember that I said I felt like dying a few hours back?" I said to them, You. My dear reader, wouldn't have read it, because it was during the 'Joke about Tisha:The witch' incident, which… I never mentioned it here, sorry fellow reader, You came here for the content, and you're getting it, no more complaining. "Well, I didn't die, my wish was almost coming true, but in the end, it didn't. But hey, at least I have a cool scar on my face to show off!"

I guwaffed at my own joke, and the gang joined in, We laughed heartily, then like we were forced to… As the laughter died, there entered a silence. We stood there, not meeting a gaze, and Mia decided to break the silence by saying

"Man, seeing someone get stabbed never felt satisfying until a few days back."

"Whoa, wait! Few days back? How long was I out?" Confusion filled my head way quicker than ever before.

"Umm… about 4 days?" Isaiah smiled, "I see you've got the rest you've wished for"

"Not funny." I muttered, then raised my voice and added, "Well, yeah kinda, but… I'm still weak from all of that pain endurance."

I set off to explore the secret wing, hoping no one would spot me, and went into a room, which seemed to be a human experiment lab. I went inside, it was empty, no one was there, I walked off into the deserted room, and found another tablet, took it, and opened it, But I heard footsteps coming towards the room, I decided to hide it in between the sweater and my shirt… I walked towards the door, hoping that they'd think that I didn't do anything. I spotted someone's shadow as they walked towards the room.

It was Tisha.
