Battle with Little Nepenthes

After the battle with the dark wolf, he decided to rest to regain his lost stamina back.

After the battle with the dark wolf, Ryu decided to relocate most of his stat points into agility and the rest into strength and dexterity.

Ryu decided to put most of his points into agility, as his battle style was mostly oriented on his movements, as the rest were secondary to him.

"Stats," Ryu said.

================================================

After many minutes later, he decided it was now time to venture deeper into the forest to look for the Little Nepenthes'.

While he was resting, he remembered a trick back in the beta that he discovered when he was finding the Anneal Blade in the beta.

The Little Nepenthes mission was slightly hard due to the low spawn rate of the little nepenthes, which made the mission put off the few players who found this mission. They would rather buy a sword that would come from a shop that would do similar damage to the AnnealBlade, as they did not want to spend hours to defeat a monster for a sword.

But fortunately for Ryu, he knew a trick to increase the spawn rate from 5% chance to 65%.

Even though the spawn rate was still low compared to 5%, it was a dramatic increase. This trick was a huge middle finger towards the few players who had to spend hours to find the Little Nepenthes'.

Back in the beta, Ryu found a trick from pure luck. As he was, he was trying to find the Little Nepenthes but was unfortunately surrounded by monsters, surrounded by them, he immediately got his poison balls from his inventory that he got from the previous monsters he killed, and threw the balls towards the incoming onslaught to take some out, but what happened next was totally unexpected to him, the Little Nepenthes spawned in after it spawned it looked around and went towards where the toxins were thrown and started absorbing it.

He found out that the Little Nepenthes used dangerous toxins and absorbed them with its mouth and purified them, leaving the impurities gone and making the toxins gone and leaving the toxins pure as an HP potion, using that it was then transferred into the ovule inside, thus, creating its pure ovule that is able to cure many diseases that are unable to get treated from medicines that you could buy in the market.

This information was very valuable and would be sold for quite a high price, as they would basically get one of the best swords without putting in hours searching for the monsters. But Ryu didn't need money and he just forgot about it and never talked about it again. He just remembered it right now, as he was thinking of ways to look for the Nepenthes'.

Deciding now was the best time as he regained his stamina: it was time to hunt. Ryu went everywhere looking for poisonous monsters with high toxin levels. This was very dangerous but was needed for the Little Nepenthes.

*HAH* Ryu yelled out as he slashed down on the poisonous rat that lunged at him that unfortunately bit him in the process.

{STATUS: Poisoned}

-You will lose 1HP per second for 30 seconds.

Most players would be panicking in this situation; a way to constantly lose our health, even for a few seconds was basically asking for suicide due to it now being a death game. But for experienced players like Ryu, they would be ecstatic.

No, Ryu was not a masochist. He wanted to look for a certain skill.

Poison resistance. This skill was greatly beneficial to him, especially when dealing with monsters orientated with poison.

Ryu, seeing the notification, just gave a satisfied smile seeing the notification from the system.

{Congratulations! You have received poison resistance!}

(Poison Resistance: Level 1)

-A skill that is immune to poison to a certain degree. As it levels up, you will be immune to more dangerous toxins.

He purposely let his guard down to get bit, as it was a common way to get poison resistance among wild but experienced players.

Ryu normally wouldn't do this normally, but due to the current events, decided to ultimately try it out. But he needed to, as he could deal with these monsters easier.

This skill would allow him to be immune to these toxins to a certain degree, which would allow him to take less damage and finish the battle easier.

Resting for a bit to regain his health, he went on to battle the monster. No, not battle. Slaughter. It was a slaughter. Ryu went from area to area killing, monsters, and obtaining their toxins. From rats to wolves, none were spared.

"This looks about good," Ryu said.

After many hours, Ryu headed to the deepest part he could get to in the forest and found an empty area that had flat land, which was ideal for him, as he could move around the area with ease.

Ryu went up to the middle and took out the toxins that were rolled up in a ball, and then placed them together, attracting many poisonous monsters that wished to grow stronger and absorb the toxins.

Monsters ate other monsters to grow stronger, but poisonous monsters needed to absorb toxins to grow stronger. Seeing the pile of toxins, it was basically a free meal, but hesitated as they heard a loud screech coming as they came closer.

"Found you," Ryu said.

<Little Nemphethes: Level 3>

It was the Little Nemphethes', despite the naming saying little, this was no way little. In fact, this was relatively tall compared to other monsters he has seen in the forest. Standing at 1.5 meters, that had roots as its legs wiggled around, showing its flexibility and fast movement despite it only having roots to move with. It had two arms that were sharp leaves that were as sharp as a blade. It's arms were moving around in an irregular movement, moving in all types of directions. Moving above, it had a red flower on the top of its head, moving down the plant with no eyes but had a noticeably huge mouth with sharp teeth that had hazardous toxins slowly leaking from the sides of it's mouth.

The group of monster-seeing the Little Nempthes' were beyond frightened. They started running away from Ryu and the Little Nemphethes', they didn't care about the toxins anymore. They knew they would die if they stayed longer.

Inside the forest, one could hear a rumbling of dozens of monsters, stomps, running away from something. It's as if they were prey instead of the predators they were known as.

If this was a normal Little Nempthes' they wouldn't have run away instantly, would have ate it. Unfortunately for Ryu and the monsters, this was not a normal Little Nempthes'. This was a variation of it. The most dangerous one.,the...third variation.

The Little Nempthes' had three distinct variations. One being the weakest, it looked like the Little Nemphtes that was described, but without the flower on top of its head. This was the least dangerous as the flower not being there, meaning the power behind the toxins would be significantly weaker than one with one.

The second variation, this one looked like the first variation with the changes of being it, having a red flower with an ovule inside of the flower that was on top of its head, meaning the toxins would be higher. This variation could easily kill a low-ranking player with no experience.

Ryu could easily deal with this type of monster even without his poison resistance, but the problem was it not being neither the first or second variation.

The problem was it being the third. The third variation couldn't be compared to the previous variations, as that would be an insult to players that have been wiped from it.

This was in its own league. This third variation looked like the second variation, but with a red flower on its head. Though this didn't seem much to other players, it was a huge difference to experienced players such as Ryu that played this game. The problem was not the toxins being deadlier, although that was a problem as well, but when a player cuts its head, it would emit an odor that attracted many other Little Nempthes' to its location.

This was a death trap to a regular low-leveled player, as one could not fight so many monsters at once. Luckily, Ryu was not a regular player, although his level was still low, his experience with fighting monsters that were on the higher floors made up for that.

Though it was still difficult for him.

'Shit. Fuck me! My shitty luck!' Ryu thought, as he was currently cursing his luck as seeing the third variation was quite low in fact, it was 2% lower than the regular spawn rate chance. Although 2% seemed like it was not much, it was a dramatic change, as the difference between combat prowess was too different. Especially the group that would come from breaking the fruit.

As Ryu looked at the Little Nempthes' he motioned his sword, taking out his steel sword from his back. Bending his knees down, he put his sword near his head with his left hand on the hilt, readying himself from any sudden movement.

Although he was at a higher level than the Little Nempthe's, he still kept his guard up, as he was still wary, knowing that the Little Nempthes' toxins were deadlier than the rest of the monsters residing inside the forest. His poison immunity would barely work, as it was too different. It would be like comparing a middle school's soccer team with a national soccer team. They were leagues apart.

As a leaf began to hit the ground, he rushed towards the Little Nempthe's and ran left to right, trying to throw it off by making unpredictable movements.

It worked as the Little Nempthes' began to get confused by Ryu movements, swinging its arms right to left, trying to track him.

Ryu dodged these attacks as they were too slow for him. It felt like it was slowing down when facing the oncoming attacks. The difference between levels was only 5 levels, but levels were everything in this game. No matter how many levels the opponents were above yours, the difference between strength was too much. One level. One level could change the fate of the battle.

Ryu began coming closer and closer, coming under the Little Nempthe's. He motioned his sword to slash. But as he was about to attack, he heard a sound coming from his back. Looking behind him, he saw one of his arms coming behind him. Seeing this, he moved to his left and dodged the sharp sword arm that attacked him.

The Little Nempthes' had a cooldown, freezing its movements, making it unable to move. Taking this time as a chance to counterattack, he rushed towards the Little Nempthe's and cut down the fruit, making it instantly die.

Unfortunately, when Ryu cut the fruit, the odor began to ooze out and began attracting other Little Nempthes'. Fortunately, none were the third variation.

Dozens of Little Nempthes' began rushing towards him, waving their arms that were sharp as knives at him.

They then began rushing at him from all angles, coming from his blind spots above to the right. It didn't matter.

As they were about to meet him, he muttered something under his breath.

"Adrenaline," His heart began pounding loudly.....loudly...loudly.....it was so loud that he could hear his heart beating in his ear. His blood began rushing inside his body. Everything was slow. Their movements looked as if they were acting in a school play, purposely slowing down their movement, not to hurt the other actor.

"Thank you for the consideration!" Ryu did not forget to thank the monsters with a smile, he began his slaughter.

Ryu began going around from monster to monster, killing them. Their blood began accumulating on his body, making his clothes bloody.

The moon shined on him, making his battle with the Little Nempthes' look like a sacred dance. His hood fell down and showed his face that showed a grin plastered on his face while killing them with blood on his face, making him look like a war god.

*Huff*

*Huff*

*Huff*

After killing the monsters, the adrenaline began to wear off. His heart began slowing down to its regular pace. After taking a deep breath, he fell down from exhaustion. He couldn't move his body in the slightest. Not one finger would move as his conscious began turning black, but before he fell unconscious, he quickly stored the ovule inside his inventory.
