The Doctors is in.

I am standing right in front of Edenbrook Hospital Boston's Most prestigious teaching hospital!!, in this hospital there are living legends like Ethan Ramsey.

"Ah welcome to the Edenbrook sir" the guard on the door said to me with a smile on a face "Thanks I stepped in and found a Doctor I moved their and saw her badged Dr. Ines Darren

i asked her "Ah Dr Darren I'm first.." as I was saying she interrupted

And said with a smile "Hi! you look lost. Let me guess first day of your internship?" I nod

she said "What's your name" I straight my shoulder and said "Zayan Carl Evans" she nodded and asked the near nurse on the table to pass her ID card and pager of Zayan Evans then she handed over to me

"Here you go, Dr Evans. I was in your shoes last year believe me Med school was nothing compared to this. Your next seven years of surgical residence will be the toughest, most amazing years of your life! But this first year as an intern will be the craziest of all."

I said with a smile on my face "I'm ready for it. I've been dreaming working at Edenbrook for years. Ever since I learned Elan Ramsey was here. His research basically inspired me to apply at Medical School! So.. any word word of advice?"

She said "Make friends with your fellow interns, your senior residents, even your patient! Friends will get you through anything. And, Uh, Try not to annoy the attending! You don't want to get on your boss's bad side!"

I said "Noted" then I moved forward for orientation class as I was passing through the Waiting room I heard a voice of grasp behind me!

Old women "nhm.." she collapses out of her seat! Other waiting patients crowd around her..

I shout on all "Give her space. Everybody, step back! I'm a Doctor!" I hurry over to the women just as another doctor rushes in. He kneels at her side and checks her pulse.

He said "Pulse is weak. She is unresponsive." He looked around and spots me "You Rookie. Get in here" he said to me "Right away" I replied, I hurry over as the doctor lifts the women in his arm and sets her on a nearby gurney." He said " what was she coming in for. Did she fill out a form yet?" A nurse near said "no. She'd just walked in."

"If we don't figure out what's wrong with her fast, she's gonna die on this table. Rookie check her B.P. I wrap a blood pressure cuff around the unconscious women's arm and pump the bulb, peering at the numbers.

I said " it's plummeting. She hypotensive. We've gotta get fluid in her.

As the nurse places on I.V., I help the doctor examine the women there. I saw on her elbow a bruise rapidly forming. The women wearily clutches my hand, I look down... see her fingertips turning blue. I said "Doctor look at the fingertips it's turning blue and this bruise over her elbow, I think fingertips is the sign of low blood oxygen saturation, and this bruise Which is bruising to quick suggest this women is Haemophiliac.

Then doctor said to me " You think? Or you know?, I said "I know.."

Then he said "Hmm good call now take a closer listen to her lungs. Hurry" I slip my stethoscope into my ears and run the resonate over her ribs. "I can't hear anything on her left side! And right right side is struggling! Doctor she is going to suffocate." I feel panic inside me, but the older doctor seems cool and collected. "Nurse we've got a code blue" the doctor said to nurse, he takes a bag mask from the nurse and begins a gentle pump air into the woman's lungs. "What do we do, Doctor? What's happening?" I said worriedly "Consider all the clues. It's all there. You know this Rookie." He said calmly

I said " it's....it's, uh....(I took a deep breathe thinking back over everything I learned in med school) haemophilia... low blood oxygen... no lung expansion on one side... (suddenly it hits me!) it's a hemothorax!" Doctor said " Precisely. A blood vessel raptured and it's filling her pleural cavity.." I said right after him "...Blocking her lungs from expanding! That's why she can't breathe! But we can't repair blood vessel here!" Then Doctor said in angry gesture "we'll have to do an emergency thoracotomy to drain the cavity instead. Nurse!" The nurse hurry over, handing me a chest tube and a scalpel, I gulp as the doctor lifts the woman's shirt to expose the side of her rib cage. I said "We need a local anaesthetic.." the Doctor barked at me and said "We're outta time! Do it now, or this woman's life is in you!"

I move the the scalpel tip towards the woman's skin. Whispering to yourself. "Incision at the fifth intercostal space... anterior... to the mid axillary line..." the scalpel quivers in my nervous grip the Doctor steadied my trembling hand in his "hey you got this." I nod and focus on my trembling hand.. I zero in, pushing everything out of my mind except Doctor's voice and touch. My hand stopped shaking! "There you go. Nice and easy" I made a perfect incision in the space between the woman's ribs. "now the tube" Doctor said to me and then together, the two of us insert the tube. With a spurt, blood begins draining out of her chest. And she start breathing again! "We...we did it!" I said excitedly, the doctor gestures to the nurses. "She stable. Get her into the surgery. She's gonna make it" the nurses wheel away the patients as the onlookers applaud. You're left feeling lightheaded after the intense moment. "Wow that was amazing." I said to doctor "yes it's amazing you didn't killed her. Your examination was slow and superficial. Your scalpel technique. Amateur at best.." I got stunned and then I said with a sad face "Sorry Doctor it's my first day" he grabs my new new ID card and reads it "Evans.. hmm" he tosses me back my ID card and walks off. I watch him go "What an asshole.." beside me a couple of nurses make dreamy eyes at his retreating form. "Yeah and I'm completely in love with him" one of the nurse said and another said to me "Don't worry about it. Dr.Ramsey is like that to everybody. I got stunned and asked "Did... did you just say... Dr Ramsey? As in Dr. Elan Ramsey? He answered "I take it you're a fan?" I answered him " He's only my medical hero and greatest inspiration. I've read all his research and clinical trials." He said "On the bright side you'll get plenty more chance to impress him" I looked down, I finally register that my scrub are stained from the thoracotomy "Aw, man I'm here five minutes and I'm already mess. I can't show up to orientation like this!" He said "Don't sweat you can change on your locker room lemme show you come on" he took me towards the locker room.

I entered the locker room and come face to face with a gorgeous women in her underwear "Holy crap you're hot!" I said

"Wow do you really think so? Nobody ever told me that before." I answered " Seriously? Like you're so... oh you're joking" she smiled and said "you catch on quick" nearby a lean muscular guy closes his locker and laughs "Go easy on him, Jackie it's the first day for all of us." Then she replied him " hey, I can be friendly... if you stay out of my way" the Guy turns his attention back to me and said "you're awful. quiet hope Jackie didn't scared you off already" right after him Jackie said "if you're scared of me then you picked wrong profession." I smiled and didn't said anything then they both exchanged look then the muscular extends his hand, giving me a playful wink " Bryce Lahela, a.k.a your new favourite surgical intern. Pleasure'a all mine."

I smiled and said "Zayan.. Zayan Evans, a.k.a your biggest challenge in surgical field" Bruce smirks and Jackie raised her eyebrow with amazed and said "Badass.. you're going to be my favourite person I can feel it" I smiled..

The three of us arrive in the main atrium. The rest of the new interns are already gathered in front of an impressive, Statuesque woman.

"...because as of today, you are no longer just student. You are doctors. I asked Jackie " psst who's that?" She replied surprisingly "Seriously did you learn medicine in the wood or something?" Bryce interrupts and said "Hey big challenge. That's Harper Emery! The hospital new chief. She's total badass! World famous head of neurosurgery before she got promoted. Guess she's just a scalpel jockey too, Jackie?" She replied " she's the exception that proves the rule" then we all moved our attention towards the Chief Harper emery "More will be demanded of you than you've ever experienced. Some of you will buckle under the pressure, some of you will quit. But some of you will thrive." Jackie groans "boring..." I replied "it's inspiring" then the chief said "You've been entrusted with a scared duty: the care and wellbeing of your patient who enters the this hospital., Are you ready!" I burst into applause with other intern and look around sharing excited smile with my fellow interns, I meet a young women eye, giving her smile but she didn't smile back. She's was the only intern not clapping.

"You'll be introduced to your senior resident tomorrow, but for now you'll be partnering up your first patients. Your assignment are posted on the board. Good luck, Doctors! As the surgical interns gather around the board to learn their assignments, I stifle yawn "How are you tired already? You're sixty second into a fourteen-hour shift." Jackie asked me I said " I didn't get a lot of sleep last night " the room I rented turn out to be just closet under a very busy staircase." Jackie said "Aww my Harry Potter" then we both start scanning the list for our name "looks like I'm partnering with...Dr Emery ? Huh?" I said surprisingly as an curly haired intern said "as in chief of medicine Harper Emery" and he got interrupted by a voice from behind "No, as in Surgical intern Alexa Emery." Everyone turns to look at the in unimpressed intern I noticed During chief Emery's speech. The curly hair intern said "wait.. you're related to Harper Emery?" Alexa replied "She is my aunt", Jackie said right after her "Oh great so we have to compete with pedigree" the other interns murmur in surprise and awe. Alexa Emery said in anger "Let's just gets it out of way: yes I could get you meeting with her but I won't. And I won't tell her how you think she's the greatest surgeon of her generation either." Another intern said "I mean...she actually is, though" and then I said "Really, it must be tough for you" She looked surprised and said in a low voice "Do you really think..(She shake her head) Whatever it doesn't matter let's go now" Alexa and me start walking as jackie hold my hand and said "You really impressed her good job Evans" I smiled and then I continue
