Eleven

We arrived home at 9pm. Leyton mom was still shifty but she did thank me for helping her grandson, I just hope she comes around when she finds out we're expecting.

I phoned Maggie right away and told her everything. We spent almost an hour on the phone.

"How's Maggie?" Leyton asked as he came into the bedroom. "She's goood. Just talking wedding plans, it's coming up so she wanted to make sure I was comfortable with everything"

"You were amazing today ... it made me love you even more"

"I just done what any nurse would do in that situation ..."

"I know ... but you're my girlfriend seeing you like that, shows me how much you love your

Job. And what an amazing mother you're gonna be to our baby"

We laid in the bed together just talking. I could believe how luck I actually was to have him.

Our scan was tomorrow ... I could wait.

"My bladder is gonna explode!" We sat waiting for our name to be called.

I swear I needed to pee more often than normal.

"April come through?" Dr Tyler smiled. "Finally" I whispered as we stood up to walk to the room.

"How you feeling?" She asks preparing the monitor

"Like I'm gonna burst with pee" I chuckled lifting up my shirt.

"I'll be quick as I possibly can I promise ... so this will be your 12 week scan?"

"I believe so"

She done some measurements as she moved the device around my stomach. "Ok .... you conceived naturally this time?" She asks. "Yeah, why? Is everything ok?"

"It is. I'm just double checking ..." she pressed a few more buttons. "April ... you're expecting twins" I froze. Wait what?

"You're 13 weeks, three days ..." she turned the monitor so we could see, heard the heartbeats ... there they were wriggling around on the screen,

"Twins!" I exclaimed.

We left the hospital in awe of what we was just told.

I was prepared for one baby, but two? How will I do it?

"April are you ok?"

"Hm? Oh yeah ... just shocked I guess!"

"We can do this baby, I'm by your side" he kissed my hand as we drove off.

We chose to tell our families tomorrow; for now we kept it quiet.

I guess I never saw my life like this; if you asked me last year I would be with a billionaire and pregnant with twins I would of laughed in your face. But the reality is? I've had to grow up fast, I've got two lives who are depending on me now.

We were hosting a dinner party for Leytons family this evening - this was the time to tell them, my family was tomorrow.

They were arriving at 6pm we had six hours. Leyton had to deal with some business at the office, I told him to go I had Jennie to help me prepare I was fine.

I knew his mom was the one to impress tonight; she was in our home at least. One food preparation was done I went upstairs to shower and slip into my little black dress and heels. Putting my hair up into a top bun and applied minimal makeup.

It was 5pm Leyton was still not here, shit. I couldn't deal with his family alone.

There was a knock at the door.

As I opened it cameras flashed from everywhere I felt blinded "what the?"

"Who are you?"

"Has Leyton got a girlfriend?" The paparazzi were looming upon the doorway. Shit. Fuck. How did they get the address?

I froze I didn't know what to think I couldn't move.

I felt sick.

I went to push them away but they were quite forceful and came forward. "April!!" I heard someone call out it was Leyton he was home, he grabbed me from between the paps and took me inside.

"Baby are you ok?"

I just froze sitting on the sofa.

I couldn't believe that was his life? How did he deal with that?

"April ... look at me!"

He clasped my face in his hands. "Yeah ... I'm ... im fine"

He handed me some water. "Are you hurt?" He placed his hand on my stomach. "No were fine. I'm just .. shocked I wasn't expecting that"

"I know baby, I'm so sorry. Well get more security I promise .... you look beautiful by the way"

He always made me feel calm.

It was 5:45pm. 15 minutes. Show time. I put the finishing touches to the table. Made sure the wine was chilled. This was it.

"Mother ... father come in"

"April, looking well." His dad smiled and kissed me both cheeks.

"Hello dear" his mom smiled. Coldly. Well I can only guess how she will take this news.

His sister soon arrived, finally someone I can feel comfortable with. "Hey, April!!" Frankie smiled "Frankie, how are you?" "I'm well ..."

Once everyone had arrived and sat around the table it was time. I've never felt this nervous before. My heartfelt like it was coming out of my butt.

"Thanks for coming this evening, we bought you here because we have some news"

I stood beside him as he held my hand.

"We're expecting!" His whole family gasped quietly. "I know this isn't what you probably don't want to hear' but ... this is what we want"

"How far are you?" Frankie smiled.

"13 weeks ... oh and it's not just one" I nervously said.

"Twins?" His mom perked up.

"Yes mother twins"

I mean it wasn't the reaction we were expecting but everyone was supportive and congratulated us. His mom? Well, she seems to be the one hard to entertain or even make happy.

"Grace, I can only but apologize if you don't like me. But I am doing all I can to make this a special evening for everyone! I make your son happy, we're happy together, sure the babies were quick but I guess it happens! And we're ready. I love your son, Grace. And if you can't accept that, then ... that's your problem"

I said it.

I stood up for myself and spoke. All eyes were on me and it was silent.
