The Shadow Clone instantly dispersed into a swirling white mist, leaving Naruto visibly perturbed.
"Damn it."
He muttered through clenched teeth, his brows furrowing with discomfort.
"What just happened to my jutsu? The repulsive force was like an unstoppable tide, utterly overwhelming. It even deflected the Rasen Shuriken..." Naruto grumbled, his frustration evident.
Perched on Naruto's shoulder, the little Katsuyu chimed in, offering her quick insights.
"It appears that Pain, who stands at the center, has managed to recover his strength. As I mentioned earlier, this is the Path of Pain that uses jutsu capable of repelling both ninjutsu and physical attacks....."
Naruto nodded in grim acknowledgment.
"This jutsu wields tremendous power, it packs a punch," she continued, her voice filled with reverence.
"If it weren't for Carnes-san timely intervention, the entire village would have been wiped out and razed to ground by its powerful impacts."
Naruto absorbed her words, an idea suddenly clicking into place.
He drew in a deep breath, his expression turning solemn.
"Ah, so this is the same jutsu Carnes-san mentioned about, isn't it?
The one that flattened the forests and mountains outside the village...it's no joke, that jutsu is truly a force to be reckoned with!"
Katsuyu contemplated this new revelation, amending her judgment and offering her fresh perspective.
"Indeed, but the more power used in this jutsu, the longer the interval before it can be used again."
"I see."
Naruto mused as his eyes lit up with newfound understanding.
"So, Pain refrained from using this jutsu earlier, just because he was gravely wounded by Carnes-san."
"Pain is an undeniably formidable enemy," Naruto reflected, admiration filling his voice.
"Carnes-san brought him down with one blow; it's incredible."
"Yeah....he is truly incredible."
Naruto said as he marveled at Carnes' strength.
However, he couldn't help but feel overwhelmed by the current situation.
"But what should I do now?"
Naruto wondered aloud, his gaze locked on Pain, who seemed to be toying with Gamabunta, Gamaken, and Gamahiro, the three toad brothers, as though they were mere playthings.
"Neither ninjutsu nor taijutsu seem to have any effect on him." Naruto sighed, his frustration mounting.
"He's a really tricky opponent."
"Kakashi explained that there's a mere five-second window between Pain's this jutsu."
Little Katsuyu offered her analysis to Naruto, her tone brimming with urgency.
"If you intend to defeat Pain, your only opportunity lies within that gap, you should focus on that opening.
Otherwise, you should fight like Carnes, or your struggle will be in vain. Follow his lead and use a similar type of jutsu to fight him head-on!"
She analyzed the situation for Naruto.
In truth, Katsuyu's assessment was fairly accurate.
However, to be precise, defeating the Deva Path was not as troublesome as it may appear, especially for someone like Carnes.
For Carnes, there was no necessity to employ the same jutsu to achieve victory.
In fact, if Carnes wanted, he had a hundred ways at his disposal to annihilate the Deva Path.
The five-second interval between the Deva Path's Almighty Push presented ample opportunities for Carnes to take him down, perhaps even ten times.
Furthermore, the Almighty Push did not exhibit insurmountable repulsion for Carnes.
In fact, the force of the Deva Path's Almighty Push would barely register as a nuisance to him.
So, Deva Path's attempts to attack Carnes with this technique were virtually futile.
But now Naruto and the others found this jutsu to be extremely tricky and powerful.
This was primarily due to the gap in their abilities and due to their own limitations.
Not to talk about Carnes but even Demiurge, who wasn't particularly good at fighting.
It was also very simple for him to deal with Deva Path and Demiurge had indeed beaten Deva Path once before.
To Carnes, the interval between the Deva Path's jutsu was extraordinarily lengthy, while to Naruto and his comrades, it appeared astonishingly brief.
"With just a five-second window, it feels impossible to defeat him...
It's too short to find a suitable strategy to defeat him."
Naruto mused furrowing his brow in deep concentration.
Seemingly at a loss, Toad Sage Fukasaku wore a grave expression.
"It appears we have no choice but to use genjutsu."
Naruto's expression mirrored his uncertainty, he was feeling somewhat helpless.
"But what do I do? I don't know anything about genjutsu!"
Naruto was proficient in ninjutsu, now standing as one of the most skilled and powerful ninjas in the entire Konoha Village.
His taijutsu skills were not lacking either, they were nothing to scoff at.
And after mastering Sage Mode, he could even compete with formidable Kage level ninjas.
However, genjutsu remained an uncharted territory for him, in which he hadn't explored and trained much.
In that moment, he couldn't help but envy the Uchiha clan with its inherent mastery of illusion techniques.
Toad Sage Fukasaku took on the responsibility without hesitation.
"Leave it to us," he reassured Naruto.
"We'll handle it just as we did before," he added.
"Before...?"
Naruto was visibly taken aback upon hearing this, his confusion evident.
Toad Sage Shima, with her wise eyes gleaming, began to explain.
"When Jiraiya faced off against Pain, he relied heavily on that very technique to find a way out...."
However, in the present moment, the Deva Path within the battlefield showed no inclination to continue the battle with Gamabunta and his brothers.
As the three toads closed in around him, he abruptly ascended into the air.
His face remained impassive, and emotionless, and with his lips parted ever so slightly, he said.
"Almighty Push!"
As his words echoed, an immense repulsive force surged forth.
The three toads struggled desperately, finding themselves helpless to offer any effective resistance to the force.
As they were instantaneously propelled away, flying hundreds of meters through the air.
Their massive bodies wreaked havoc colliding with numerous houses in their path, causing chaos and destruction inside the village, flattening everything in their way.
