End Of West Blue Arc (Part 2)
As I was jogging towards the orphanage, I noticed I was getting a lot more stares than normal. I was already used to the stare but this was too much even for me. All of a sudden I was feeling sorrow, heartache, gratitude, and tons of other strong and negative emotions I couldn't fully describe.
My head was over overwhelmed with such strong emotions to that point I felt like my brain was repeating being stabbed by a sharp knife a hundred times over and over again. Just as swiftly I felt those emotions, they disappeared in less than a minute as I tried to calm myself.
*HUFF* *HUFF* *HUFF* *HUFF*
I was taking some deep breaths as my chest raise with each breathe I took. It took me about a minute to stabilize myself back to normal. I soon noticed I caused quite the commotion as people gathered around me. They actually looked quite scared for a second thinking something happened to me.
An old grandma was petting my back to calm me down which it did. She even asked one of the people to bring a doctor out to check me.
It took me about 10 minutes to calm down everyone that I was fine. An old-looking doctor arrived at the scene in less than five minutes. It took a long-ass bullshit reason to convince the doctor was nothing was wrong with me when he let me leave. After about thirty minutes everyone left me alone.
They started walking towards where they needed to be. I wasn't annoyed at them but rather I felt quite happy at people who didn't even know me personally care and worry about me.
" SYSTEM, WHAT THE FUCK WAS THAT?"
I asked that system as I continued walking towards the orphanage. I truly didn't want to feel anything similar like that at all. I rather give up an arm before I go through the again.
" What you experienced a moment was a sign you're close to awakening observation haki. As for when you will awaken your observation haki, it could awaken today, that next day, or it could even take years for you to awaken it. It depends on that state you are in."
" As for why you could sense other people's emotions is due to your unique variation of observation haki. It is known as Emotion Sense which is quite rare to have but isn't rare as future sight."
" For one to have this type of haki, their personality and real nature as people must be compassionate, thoughtful, and other similar emotions. And in some ways place the well beings of others even above themselves."
" This variation of observation haki allows the user to sense and empathize with the emotions and nature of others. Which you just experienced a couple of minutes ago. At peak mastery this allows you to read the thoughts, intent, and total emotions of others who aren't at the same level in haki as you."
" With this ability at max mastery, you will be able to instantly sense who could betray you. But just like every other ability, this does have a weakness as well. People with high control over their emotions and acting abilities can somewhat counter this ability but at max mastery, this ability can't be countered."
" But the biggest weakness of this ability would be when one fully awakens this version of observation haki. One becomes vulnerable to passively empathizing with the negative emotions of others without having the proper mental fortitude."
"This can be a traumatic experience for the user; especially in the context of several people dying, as the user will passively empathize with strong emotions of fear, pain, and hate. This could result in that person killing themselves due to the negative emotions. Or their brain could explode due to it not being fully capable of processing the emotions and thoughts of hundreds of people."
" But I believe you shall be fine during your observation awakening due to your mental fortitude. Not to mention your body's brain is more than strong to process everything.'
"Those who possess this type of haki are Issho, Coby, and Queen Otohime. If all of them can survive it then so can you. If you somehow die, then you are just a weakling."
The system explained what happened to me as it stated everything about Emotion Sense. The last part rubbed me in the wrong way but I tried to ignore it. I was hoping I will be able to use future sight but I take the ability to tell traitors within your ranks any time. Especially with my goal of overthrowing the current World Government.

Four Minutes Later
I finally arrived at the orphanage where I saw some of the kids playing games with the toys I brought them before.
One of the kids saw me entering the orphanage as he shouted" BIG BRO, YOUR BACk!" As soon as the kids heard the 10 kids who were outside all ran towards me. It was still like 10 am so most of the kids were asleep.
" Woah guys, be careful I still haven't recovered," I said to the kids before they jumped on me.
" What happened to your right arm brother?"
" Are you fine now?
" You were so cool in that fought"
Some of the kids started asking me questions as I tried to answer all of their questions. One of the kids even asked me to show them my dragon attack. They saw some of the pictures of me fighting in the newspaper.
I played around with the kids for about 10 minutes before I went inside the main wooden house where Atalanta lives in. The house is shared between 10 kids and 3 caretakers similar to the three other houses in the orphanage.

And that's the end of the chapter. I was going to make this chapter around 2000 words but I just couldn't do it today. I think the chapter is 1149 words not counting this part. I got my second dose of the vaccine shot yesterday and it fucked me up. I have a high fever, headaches, nausea, sore threat. I got the worst of the fucking symptoms and can barely do anything now. If I don't post chapters for like a week, this is why.

I think there will at best like 3 more chapters for the West Blue Arc. I just wanna conclude everything nicely before the mc leaves for Marineford.

( Note: I know this isn't exactly cannon but I wanted to add my own little twist to observation haki where it makes sense within in the world of one piece. The ability to sense emotions and empathize with the nature of others is cannon. I just added the ability to read thoughts.)
(This should be fine as it isn't op since it can't be used in battle. And I just wanted an mc that doesn't have future sight, like every single ff I read always has it without any explanation. Like they always master it within a couple of days when monsters like Roger, the Admirals, or Yonkos don't have future sight. )
( For future sight, it's an ability you have to be born with. And must have like god-like talent in observation haki which our main character doesn't have. Im just gonna make this an au thing. And someone else within Drake's ranks will have future sight. )
It's gonna take the mc a while to fully awaken to observation haki maybe around when he's like 8 or 9 years old. The mc will reach basic peak mastery or one tier higher for the other two types of haki around the same time for reasons I will state in future chapters. Anyways that's about it.
