Chapter 10- Lutanant Yale

Sengoku sighed as he sat at his desk doing paperwork. When he was younger He'd thought that when he became admiral, he'd be respected and get to go on cool missions. Well, he got the respect, but his missions were the rest of his time was devoted to paperwork. How he loathed paperwork. He often found himself wishing that he could just burn the lot of it, and blame some clumsy marine for it.

Suddenly someone opened the office door. "Yes?" Songoku asked already sensing who it was.

Garp's booming laughter resounded, Songoku couldn't help himself, but laugh a little too hearing his old friend.

When Garp entered he patiently waited for someone else to also enter the room. this caught Songoku's attention. even though Songoku already sensed that Garp was with someone but he just shrugged it off thinking that it was some no-named Marine

The person who entered the room looked no older than 13-14. It was a boy with glowing auburn hair his eyes were a bright azure color.

"Who is he?" Songoku shifted his gaze toward Garp, who was eating a cookie while laughing.

"He is Yale, I want to recruit him as a Marine"

Yale listened there to a one-sided conversation, which was about Songoku yelling at Garp. After Songoku calmed down his calm eyes shifted toward Yale.

"Kid, Why do you want to join the marine?"

Sengoku studied the boy's expression to the littlest detail.

"Because I want to be strong!" Yale replied his expression calm like the quiet before the storm.

"Okey, before that you'll need to fight me first." Songoku slightly smiled.

"How do you expect someone like him to even put up a fight!?"

"This test will decide your ranking, kid!!!"

"When?" Yale may have looked calm outside but in reality, he was scared, just looking at this man, brought shivers down his spine.

"You are free to use any weapons or techniques you know. Come at me with the intent to kill or you won't stand a chance."

"Well then, ready, steady… go!"

Yale Dashed at Songoku and engaged him in a battle of taijutsu. Being someone of high status back on earth Yale had to have some knowledge about hand-to-hand combat, which fortunately he did.

Then, Songoku's long, sturdy legs turned into a flurry as he charged toward me. A wave of sharp wind blew past. His palm turned frozen as it pressed toward my chest.

My eyes narrowed. So fast!

Songoku didn't use his full strength, but the difference was there. I found out that I couldn't dodge his palm at all.

I tensed my body and a light flashed across my skin. My arms crossed in front of my chest as I defended with full power.

The palm flew past and lightly stopped at his crossed arms.

The seemingly light palm contained mountain creaking power that was vented from those small, white hands. It passed through my arms and struck fiercely against my chest.

My heart felt heavy. I retreated step by step for 14 steps before standing still again.

Although I was struck and sent flying away, I showed a smile. I actually defended against it!

Seeing that his palm only pushed me back 14 steps, Songoku's smile turned into shock. He opened his mouth and blinked his eyes as he looked at me for a moment

Songoku smiled gently, "In that case, I won't be holding back today."

Then, he dashed up again.

Because I have only learned the basic martial technique, Songoku only used the basic movement technique and the basic palm technique. However, Songoku's mastery was higher than mine. He moved around easily and rarely stopped.

Seeing his charge over ferociously, My mouth spasmed.

But looking at S'songoku's basic movement technique, I didn't think about anything. I knew that I had too many weaknesses. Whether it was my strength or martial technique, they were all garbage.

I looked at Songoku's movement technique while dodging his attacks. In the beginning, I got hit from all directions but eventually, I could dodge a few attacks. Gradually, I could dodge more. Out of ten palms, I could barely dodge two or three palms.

This progress shocked both of me and Songoku!

Songoku mumbled under her breath, "Is this guy a forgotten battle prodigy?"

...

After the two sparred for half an hour, Yale had been smashed by a few hundred palms. His entire body was aching and he could barely stand.

Songoku and garp granted Yale the rank of Lieutenant. Next, Yale was granted a magnificent ship of the finest craftsmanship, Built with Adam Wood.

Of course, all of this wasn't solely due to my skill, It was because Songoku and Garp took a liking to me.
