One Last Merchant

Magic is not real. Monster that defy logics should not exist. Yet, I cannot refute what is before my very eyes. What my mangled body has told me through painful experiences. What my dying mind has comprehended with my last willpower. The world that I have once lived in changed abruptly one day, and the new era dawned for the human race. It is done by the hands of those who are known as Rulers. They call it mercy, but I know it is a game to them. If they truly wish to help the human race, then there surely a better way than sacrificing billions to uplift the selected few. The Zoning Events was set in stone, and the dimensional barrier collapses, allowing the monsters that we could never hope to defeat with our current technology to enter our universe. Allowing horrifying worlds and landscapes to merge with our own. And through blood, sweat, and fear, we understand that our science cannot truly surpass the natural law of the universe. Only through magic, the human race might survive. Only through magic, a better future can be reached. Everything has its price, and no price is too great for the second chance. This is the story of the last Merchant. One Last Merchant. *** Disclaimer: This story contains graphical sex scenes and depictions of torture! Please enjoy! Simplicity in Dungeon Designs

The Major follows my gaze along with the rest of her men, and from her visible expression, she doesn't want to be down in that hole and at my mercy again. Honestly, I could have killed her before vanishing without a trace, but I decided that there is more to be gained by continuing to be her ally.

At least for now.

"How many powers do you actually have, Merchant?" the Major questions, and I wonder whether she is hinting that the System allows a person to have more than one skill or ability.

My System only allows for one class per individual, but there are always exceptions.

And a Player can always change their class after meeting certain conditions. Furthermore, a class isn't static, and it can change or altered or evolved with natural or unnatural progression of the Player.

I was a simple Merchant, but after killing the Ruler of Death, I am now the Merchant of Death. It should be a better class rank than a simple Merchant, as it allows me to acquire new skills and abilities. Those skills and abilities should be related to Death itself, but that is not always a certainty.

In any case, obtaining completely new skills and abilities along with regaining my old ones is not a bad thing. But sadly, those skills and abilities will not show them until I am at a much higher level. At lower levels, I only regain generics skills and abilities.

Not that those generic skills and abilities are not overpowered if used properly.

"Many, at least I like to think so," I answer before making a gun disappears with a touch, and that just results in resumed hostility form the men. "My power to put thing in and taking thing out of another dimension is very versatile. I can even suck out the air within several kilometers, but that would be a bad thing for everyone."

Technically, I cannot yet. My level is not high enough for me to store something intangible like the air within my Inventory. I will be able too soon, however, and that will open a lot of ways to use my unique Inventory.

Not every class gain access to an Inventory, and Merchant class is one of several classes that can make use of the Inventory beyond just storing weapons, armors, items, and so on.

Everyone is stunned at the revelation. They have never thought my power could do something of the sort, and I was the same first time around. If only I know about it then. Everything would have changed for the better.

Merchant class is not a combat-orientated class, but its skills and abilities can be used imaginatively in such a way that they can considered offensive-type. But even so, I should not confront anything head on like actual battle powerhouses.

"I have thought that your power is useful, but I've never imagined it could be so… absurd," the Major voices her opinion.

"And you think your power to manipulate and create explosive flames is not absurd?" I retort. "Major, I do not think the world will be the same after all of this, and I will do my best to ride the deadly waves that will come. But before that, I must survive first. Now, shall I keep us all alive or not?"

The Major agrees, and I immediately trace out a tunnel. Using my Inventory to dig through the ground akin to a Dungeon Designer or similar class, but a very simplistic one. Still better than nothing.

I hope that you enjoy the chapter.
