Double status

"Play dead" 'Dead huh?' Yui did as he told. She closed her eyes and breathed as slowly as she could.

There was a small waiting line. Jun didn't pay attention to it and walked past all those people. Those people didn't say anything. They knew him and his master. Unlike his master he was more known as the brainless warrior who always fights. If he had his eyes on you, you better be strong and beat him to the verge of death. Only then will you get rid of him for a while.

Jun looked at the guard and nodded at him. The guard's heart almost stopped beating but because he was well trained, his face showed no emotion. Still, he didn't want to fight against that little monster. Jun is just a little monster compared to his master or other strong creatures. The guard sighed in his mind. He could see Jun make trouble with that living savage beast.

Jun walked casually in the town. He smiled at the people who were staring at him, making some that saw his glare quickly look away. He was rather happy for the attention. What he didn't know is that those eyes weren't especially looking at him but at the wolf who was on his shoulder.

Yui nearly stopped breathing and really 'played dead'. There are so many people around her that she might get trauma. All those piercing glare on her. They were more curious one, but she felt uncomfortable. Actually, this whole continent belongs to the elves. There are just some humans and beast men that can enter it. Demi humans are rare. But Yui doesn't know the difference between all of them. If Yui thought really hard, she could hardly remember that girl with healing abilities having weird ears just like this guy that is kidnaping and torturing her.

Jun entered a big building and with high speed he entered a room on the 5th floor. The ones chatting on the other floor only saw a shadow pass by. In fact, they had a rough idea about who that might be but they ignored him.

"Yo! Jun is here!" No one was in the room. "Don't mind me stealing...*cough, cough* I mean borrowing some things." Yui opened an eye and seeing that no danger or people were there, she jumped off his shoulder relieved.

"Hey! stay still" Jun said that while searching everywhere for an orb. Following his advice, she sat and waited while being annoyed. If she were a witch, the elf would have long been cursed.

"What are you doing!" An authoritative voice echoed throughout the room. Yui saw a female figure that was standing behind Jun. That guy was startled for a second. "Oh! Arry! I mean master. I came looking for the orb to see doggy's status" He had a proud smile. Arianne looked around and everything was a mess. Then, she looked at the first culprit.

She clenched her fist and hit Jun's head. "Ouch! Why did you do that?" "Look at all the mess you did! What if I came back a little later?! You would have destroyed the building just to find that orb?"

Jun thought about what she said and gave a firm nod and said without hesitation. "Of course I will!"

Arianne let out a big sight and thought:'Why can't you be as angelic as my new disciple? You little troublemaker.' She quickly stopped him before his hands could touch anything else. "Don't move. I'll give it to you..." "Yes mam!" He made a soldier salute. Not even a second passed and she took out an orb. It was transparent and you could see somehow your reflection.

"What are you going to do with it? You don't need to see your status, you saw it not long ago." She looked at him suspiciously. "It's for the doggy. I told you not long ago." He pointed at Yui. "Right." Arianne's eyes fell on Yui while feeling a little embarrassed to ask the same thing twice.

Yui didn't even move a centimeter. She was like a statue but only her tail was slowly going from left to right. She tilted her head seeing that they were talking about her. The wolf had no idea what status meant. She hoped it would be some delicious food. Maybe she could eat that ball. It looked like a great toy in her eyes.

Yui was beginning to feel uncomfortable under Jun's master gaze. She kept being stared at. Arianne had a feeling that she saw this wolf but she would have remembered those weird purple eyes. She continued to scan Yui while giving the orb to Jun.

Jun quickly put the orb in front of Yui. "Put your paw on it." He was as excited as a kid. Arry let out a sigh and shook her head. Yui looked at the orb hungrily, even forgetting the burning gaze of a curious elf and freezing one of another and put her front paw on it. Nothing happened from her point of view. She waited some seconds and still felt and saw nothing unusual, she became a little confused and wanted to take her paw off the orb.

"Don't move!" Both Jun and Arianne yelled a little anxious and excited. She froze and kept her paw on the weird orb. It had a purple light in it. That light was moving like a snake, slowly creating a small vortex in the middle of the orb and then it suddenly exploded out of the orb trying to attack the two elves. Arry pushed Jun away and jumped back. Jun fell on the ground stunned.

Unlike the other 2 people, Yui couldn't see what happened with that purple light. The wolf only saw them falling down and doing some weird movements. Arianne let out a gasp and her eyes shone with a strange light in them. The purple snake like light stopped attacking. The elf lady would have kidnapped the wolf and studied her if it wasn't already in the hands of her disciple. But maybe, just maybe, in the back of her mind she thought that she could blackmail him and steal her. The two elves saw two status. This never happened. Usually, they don't even try to look at low graded beast status so they can't be 100% sure but they are sure chances are nonexistent. After all, they are all stupid weak. One more unusual thing is that the status window was purple unlike the normal blue plain ones. Well, The first status looked somehow a little more blue but still was more of a purple.

The second status screen, the elves could hardly see one thing. There were chains all around it. The rest was all blurry but it didn't seem like there were any question marks. The part where the name was supposed to be, 'Yu' could be seen a little better than the rest so they took it as Yui. The level and the rest... They couldn't even guess if it's a big or small number. Hell, you can't even know where most things are. The more you stare at it, the more it looks like it's spinning and getting messed up.

"You're even more special than I thought!" To Jun's note, Yui tilted her head. She didn't like the look in their eyes. 'What's so special?' "Huh? Can't you see your status? It's gold! Gold I tell you. You even have... 2 of them? Maybe it's just broken. Hahaha."

"Don't you dare say that! It's perfect. " Arianne punched his arm. "I would really like to study her more… see what's inside her brain… how all this happened… the limits of her body..." Arianne's satre gave shivers to Yui.

"Don't you worry I caught it just for you... Arry'' He couldn't help but call her that nickname. Arianne sighed. Yui felt like an ant that some giants were playing with. Tossing her to one side, then the other. They will end up crushing her to death. Arianne's thoughts of blackmailing him vanished. She felt moved to see him caring about her. "But I thought that it would be better to give it to ya, kid. It could be a perfect toy or if she gets stronger a bodyguard." The warmth in Arry's eyes became a little colder.

It pained Arry to let off this great specimen to her cute child. In the end, it wasn't such a bad idea... "You had such a genius idea for once! Oh and the kid is almost a grown up." She had a smug face.

Unlike the wolf who didn't care much, Jun had a confused look. "That weirdo... Will he also die sooner?" Arry looked at him this time with a cold look. "Of course not! He just grows faster because of all the magical talent he has. Hirotsu is a demi human after all. You should expect for this to happen. After growing enough, he'll stay at that age for a long time just like us." At least, she hopped so.

'Doubt it.' Jun heard Yui's voice."Yeah what she said."

"Who said what?" Arianne looked at him as if he was an idiot. "Doggy of course!" Jun was about to add something that would have made Arry beat him but at the last second shoot his mouth.

Yui looked at Jun then at Arry. 'See you're the weird one, human.' At the same time Arry said. "And you said others are weird, looked at you. What poisonous plan did you eat to become stronger?" She believed him but would find ways to come back at him for teasing her. Jun blushed. "T-That was a long time ago!"

Jun opened his mouth to say something else but his luck was so good that at the same time, he swallowed a bug. "Ew! What was that!" Arianne laughed. "Was the bug good?" Even Yui grinned evilly.

Jun scratch his head. "Yeah it was delicious. Gonna catch some more. Do you want some?" Arianne gave him a disgusted look and shook her head. This time she failed. "Anyways keep Yui for some more days. Hirotsu will take her himself soon. You can go whenever you want and you better be really far away. It would be a test for both of my disciples."

Jun was surprised that the kid was ready for a test but soon he had a lot of ideas of places to visit. He better not stay here for long or he will suffer the wrath of his master.
